    August surgery buddies!

Hey!!! Mine was Aug 12. I'm down 121 pounds since my surgery, pounds are getting hard to lose this last few months, but I keep trying...I started again to track what I eat, the exercise is getting easier to do, but I'm still not confident enough to go to the gym by myself. But I am now not the same person as 1 year ago. This one is lighter, healthier, a little bit happier, and I even look younger (at least that's what ppl says). I can imagine all of you guys have similar feelings Sent from my SM-S908U1 using BariatricPal mobile app

Congrats!!!!! We are 4 months away to our gastricversary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do any one of you ever thought that we were going to be here, some years ago? Personally this surgery was just a dream that it was out of my reach for soo long, in my country any weight loss surgery is consider cosmetic, so is not covered by the insurance; you have to have money to be able to do it, and you have to paid in dollars. I was "lucky" that last year I was debt free and my company bonuses were destined for the surgery, my boss was so amazing about it that the company lend me the money before the bonuses were given; and my amazing surgeon told me that all the doctors fee were waived (one of the perks of being in the healthcare field), just had to pay for the hospital cost. I wish someday, my country´s healthcare system considers weight loss surgery a regular procedure that can help any patient get healthy, use less meds, hospital and resources that can be used for prevention programs, reserves, etc. And that any weight loss surgery be available for anyone, no matter their income.

Hey!! You got this! you´ve lost 80 lbs, that´s something big!!! You are doing great; remember we are here for the long run. The most important thing is that you are better than 1 year ago, and that 1 year from now, you´ll be even better. My surgeon told me yesterday in my follow up app that if I continue to be consistent and that I keep learning and "listening" to my tool (gastric sleeve) we are good. So, look on all the weight/inches off, the saggy clothes, all the NSV we´ve experience in only 5 months, YOU/WE are doing great!

Congrats Libby! Felicidades @karakent. Lost 61.2 pounds since my surgery, feel amazing, have drop two sizes of clothes (maybe more from a size 28-30 to 26-24 comfortably, 22 snuggly). The surgeon cleared me for exercise, but haven't started yet, for me that's the difficult part. Hospital where I work has a 50% discount for employees in a Wellness Center, I will contact human resources for them to do the enrollment thing, after that comes from my paycheck I´ll force myself to go and think in the other amenities they have, like the sauna. One of the things that hurts the most is losing hair, so I dye it and cut it, been drinking a lot of s... for hair loss and applying a lot of hair products, but I know it is part of the process and that hair grows back. I can´t believe those pictures are 4 months apart, my eyes have been always big, now they are like look like big big, my face is losing "the fat", I was afraid to look older, but I like what I see in the mirror.

Very good, Iast week was my bday had to celebrate it with coconut water while everybody was having mojitos, sangrias, beer, rum, etc. My friends, family and coworkers went out of the way to get me some kind of "cake" that I can eat (no flour, no sugar) they did a great job find it alternatives, even though i could only eat a little bit. A non scale victory: dropped 2 sizes of clothing, right now buying panties and bra online, cuz everything is to big. My doctor says everything is fine, have an appointment with him on November I´m expected to lose 12lbs by that time. Do any of you have a recommendation of a youtube channel/app for low impact home exercise, still don´t feel comfortable going to the gym, and I don´t have a buddy or family in the city where I work to go with.

Yes!!! It's soo frustrating!! I'm taking biotin, b12, using minoxidil and a lot of hair stuff for the loss, but its even staring to show. Recently dye it a different color, knowing that eventually I'll have to cut it. My hair length is past my back, it was one of the few things I used take pride for, so long, shiny and healthy. Soo sorry for your cramps, try a hod pad...for me a little bit of cramps, I´m on my fourth day, hopefully tomorrow is my last. Yesterday in the weight in at the doctors appt I gained three pounds 😭, thanks the heavens the surgeon is out of town, and I got his assistant. The first question she asked me was if I consumed any food with sugar or not authorized in the program (they are very strict with that), I told her no, then asked if I was on my period, when I answered yes, she explain that´s normal, don´t worry about it, and put a little note for the surgeon. I'm on phase 4: soft food, eggs, and plantain, cassava puree, mozzarella and meat (without been grounded). I got to eat chicken breast and avocado in a restaurant for lunch yesterday, it was heaven, even though 95% of the plate went to a doggie bag.

I'm 4 days late, and feel miserable!! Besides I'm bloated, my feet are swelling. I've been in the famous 3rd week stall, for 10 days. I decided not weight myself until monday, that is my follow up appointment with my surgeon...counting the days for soft food.

I ask the same question to my doctor today, he says as long as it doesn't progress and change the characteristic of the pain/discomfort is part of the healing process in you abdomen and abdominal wall. My discomfort started last week, I'm able to sleep on the side and in my belly since day 5. Last week I went back to my apartment and work and my activity have increased Sent from my SM-N975U using BariatricPal mobile app
