  1. Pat & Cate - Congratulations to both of you!!! Keep up the good work.:clap2:
  2. Johni - I can't really give you any wonderful advice but didn't want to leave your post unanswered. Each person experiences the band very differently. Many are more restricted in the mornings but I have heard of some more restricted in the evenings. I've been banded for a year this week and just in the last month I've started to experience food coming back up in my throat along with heartburn. I'm afraid its a sign of being too tight but don't want to get an unfill. Seems way too early for you to be too full but it wouldn't hurt to talk to your doc about it. I'm also not trying to sound any large alarms here. However, the only time I ever experience pain from eating that was in my was just before I had my gall bladder out. And it was nearly always after eating an evening meal. So again I'd say it probably would be a good idea to ask the doc about it. I'm glad you found us. Do you mind me asking who was your doc? Most of us here were banded by Hoehn. - Diane
  3. Brunch: One Scrambled Egg mixed with.... Tbl Cottage Cheese & Mexican Velveeta Dinner: Inside of Chicken Enchilada @ Sol Azteca and 5-10 Chips with Refried Beans 2 Cups Milk 1 Cup Water (TERRIBLE!) Will try to drink some more before bed.
  4. It was acrylic and most of it came out. The boss will is paying the $110 cleaning bill for the car and he also said he'd pay for my paint covered clothes. I actually was enjoying painting as it was a nice break from the stresses of our normal work. At least until what happened yesterday. One other great thing happened yesterday. After buying new SMALLER jeans at Kohls I went to Dress Barn to buy a new top. (Couldn't find anything at Kohl's) And to my complete amazement I was able to buy a great top out of the misses side of the store! I never thought with my DDD/E size chest that would ever happen. As of this morning I've also managed to drop the pounds I put on over the holiday and am back to the same weight I was before I left town last Friday.
  5. Why Me! :frusty: here I thought yesterday was bad. Today at work was MUCH WORSE! Keep in mind one of the things my husband & I "discussed":argue: last night was "decision" that I go to work today and announce to my boss I won't help repaint the office just 3 days before our new carpet is to arrive and after it was practically my idea to do the painting ourselves. So, I went to work today and was prepping for the painting I was going to work on despite my husband's comments. Before we could start painting it was decided that we should use a different color than we already bought and I was sent a few blocks down to the Home Depot to exchange the paint. But when I got there both gallons of paint had managed tip over AND open. :hurtDumping their entire contents all over my back seat and its contents, Clothes, Toys, Papers....my car tends to be messy. Home Depot was completely helpless they wouldn't even give me some free wash clothes or a bucket of water to try to clean the car out. I was literally in tears. Upset about how this had ruined the value of the car, upset about the paint all over my shoes, clothes, hands, upset about how DH would react after last night. I finally got home at 7:40pm tonight after spending 2-1/2 hours & $110 at a car detail shop waiting to see how much paint they could remove. Then going to Kohls covered in paint, in my socks to buy replacement clothes. After struggling with the temptation for over 2 hours at detail shop I caved and bought a piece of Baklava from te Greek shop next door. (Of course when I was 70 pounds heavier and had no band I was not an emotional eater. I have no idea where this habit has come from:rolleyes: ) On the bright side. The DH has been surpisingly calm (so far) about it. And... the new jeans I bought were another size smaller than the ones they were replacing.:clap2: Also the boss has offered to pay for the car's cleaning bill and my new outfit. I still told him I'd help with the painting on Monday during work hours but am no longer going to help over the weekend like I thought I might.
  6. 1 Protein Bar 1 cup crustless Pizza (i.e. ragu, turkey pep & cheese melted in microwave) 1 piece Baklava (not great but not bad considering I was craving an entire sheet pan of the stuff after the time I had today - see other thread) Water - 32oz
  7. I don't mind the advice at all. I think you are probably right. I don't think DH does feel he has much control in either his life or our relationship. I think we both struggle with the feeling that the other has more "control". We really need to work on it more. Just so hard when you have a child at home. Thanks for making me smile.
  8. Sometimes my tears are self pity "no one loves me" tears. But usually my "Tears" usually signal that I'm so angry I want to beat the holy *bleep* out of him but know I can't.
  9. UHGHHH!!! I so want to eat right now! I'm not hungry just upset. DH has been sick last 2 days. He's finally feeling better this evening but has been a jerk all night. He has this annoying habit that when he decides he is upset with me about something he can't seem to get over being upset until I either get furious or more likely cry. Even if I'm apologetic and agree with him 100% on everything he says he doesn't seem satisfied. Instead he sulks for a while then finds more and more topics to bring up that he is upset about. I was particularily determined not to let myself lose it tonight with anger or tears so had to deal with him flaring up with re-hashes or new topics off and on all night. But finally gave up and got mad enough at him for him to back off a few minutes ago after having to go through a 2 hour "conversation". It's like he doesn't think I really understand how serious he feels about something until he sees me get as upset as he is. He's basically a good guy even tonight there were no obscenities or other extreme behaviour. Just the constant pressure of being on the defensive, trying to prove myself to someone I don't think I should have to prove anything to after 13 years of marriage. (After 1 year of marriage as far as I'm concerned) Again, UHGHHHH!!!! Thanks for letting me vent. Now I think I'll go to bed and dream of all that food I'm trying so desperately not too eat.
  10. food for Today: 1 Protein Bar Tuna salad on a slice of Smoked Gouda cheese 1/2 Cup chicken, Broccoli & Rice 1/2 Cup Bannana pudding Water: 48 oz Exercize: Lots of heavy moving at work (i.e. None) Last week I felt so restricted and rarely felt hungry. This week my stomach is growling within an hour of eating the same or even larger portions than last week. Not sure if its really because I need a fill or if it because of all the carbs I ate over the weekend making me have carb-craving hunger pains. Either way I have my 1-year appt next Wed. I'll probably ask them to give me just a small tweak.
  11. Cynthia - Don't worry about us. You need to take care of yourself and enjoy this time with the band and with Wes. Just remember we are always here for you. OK I finally got the guts to get back on the scale after this weekend. Managed to gain 2 pounds from my "binge" at the in-laws. I think I'm finally back on track as of yesterday though. Hopefully I won't keep those 2 pounds for long.
  12. Quick off topic for me too - Eureka - OMG I laughed my shrinking behind off last night during the electric fence scene. Yesterday's food: 1-1/2 Protein Bars 1 Taco Bell Pintos & cheese 1/2 cup chicken & Rice 9 slices Turkey Pepperoni w/Lite Cream Cheese Water - 24 oz
  13. Monday: 1/2 Protein Bar 1-1/2 Wendy's Chicken Strip 1/2 Wendy's 99-cent Chocolate Frosty with Peanut Butter mixed in. Water: approx 32 oz Exercise - None
  14. Angela - any update on your port-area problems? When are you back in town again? Do you have an appointment already scheduled? Cynthia - how is your new band holding up? Any chance you are feeling any restriction?
  15. Sat night works for me as well. Could also do on a week night if it would be better for others.
  16. Hmmnmm I hadn't noticed that on the menu before. I just might need to try it.
  17. One Protein Bar 5 - Oreos 1 "chicken nugget" worth of Pot Roast 2 "chicken nugget" worth of Cabbage 1 Crescent Roll 2 Asparagus 2/3 Tamale & Refried Beans at Sol Azteca w/6-10 Chips Water: 60 oz Exercise - 45 min walk on a bike trail pushing son in a stroller. * I got back from Lincoln this evening so hopefully I'll be back on track this week. Haven't been on the scale for 2 days now. Not sure I want to see what it has to say about my last two days.
  18. Today's Food: 1 - Scrambled Egg 2 - meat Balls 1 - Small Slice of Cherry Pie w/one Scoop Ice Cream 2 oz chicken Curry 2 Scoops Ice Cream with Homemade chocolate Sauce & banana 1/4 cup Hersheys Chocolate - Straight Water 48 oz 1 - Wine Cooler 1/2 cup Milk Exercise - Only walking around Mall Overall Slightly better than yesterday but just slightly. I have serious issues with opportunity. If it's there and especially if I'm "un-attended" I'll eat it. That's why I don't keep these things at home. But I'm at the in-laws until tomorrow.
  19. Sea - Your food today sounds yummy. was the Souffle & Quiche Homemade? If so can we have the recipe? If not what brand? OK here goes - Were suppose to be honest here.... My own self sabotaging behavior has reared its ugly head today cheese omelet with extra Cheese approx 8 oz 1 Twix bar 4 Oreo Cookies 1 Protein Drink 1/2 of a 99-cent package of Cashews approx 1/3 cup of Hersheys Syrup - Straight from the bottle 5 Crunchy Cheetos 1 scoop vanilla ice cream very small slice of cherry pie oh and 2 home made meat balls Water - 80+ Ounces Exercise - None as usual Too scared to add those numbers up. UHGHH and I was doing so good there. Oh Well, tomorrow's another day.
  20. Hi All - Glad to see you again Sea. Hope you can join us for dinner again. No matter where you go you're still a chica here. And, yes, I've been weighing myself WAY TOO Much lately. I know I should stop but I can't seem to help myself lately. What does everyone think about Saturday Sep 16th at The Blue Nile in the City Market? Around 11:30am perhaps. Last note. Haven't changed my ticker but low & behold the scale was down another pound today!!!! OMG that's 6 pounds since last Friday!!!
  21. Cate - how did it go with the temp agency? Enquiring minds want to know.
  22. Hey Robyn - You know I've recently figured out that PMS-ing Carb Attack Connection myself. (I'm a slow learner) BTW 1250 cal isn't bad by my reckoning. OK you could watch your carbs and up that protein a little but give me a break you can't be expected to keep that up every day! If we were that dedicated why did we need this blankity blank "Tool" called the band. I also just got off my TOM last Fri/Sat which may have contributed to the weight loss spurt. Not that its ever helped any the previous 11 months. Well for my food today: Wendy's Chick Strip (Only 1*) with Ranch Dressing Protein Bar Grits w/Butter - One instant package shared w/son. 64oz - Water Exercize - walked 1 lap behind work and lots of manual labor trying to get things moved out of the office for some new carpet we are getting at work. Pathetic but better than nothing. *I gave the other 2 Chicken strips away - was TOO Full on one. Funny less than a month ago I could have managed all three given 45-60 min to work at it. Approx - Totals for today 550 cal / 40 protein. HMMM was going to go to bed but know I think I'll go down and have 1/2 an Isopure Protein Drink to get in another 20g. Think that will bump my cal up to 650ish range.
  23. Nah - though My fav is chicken and I know that doesn't sit with your band well. They also have Beef, Shrimp & Lamb all very good. Their sides include, Collard Greens (Very Yummy), Chick Peas, Potatos & Cabbage, Lentils and more. May sound strange but it is worth a try.
  24. Robyn - as far as my other post goes. It wasn't that I didn't want to tell everyone. I just get superstitious sometimes. I've felt like I've been holding my breath. Afraid that if I said it out loud to anyone, lightning would strike me down and the weight loss would stop or reverse itself. Infact I'm still worried this train has stopped. The last 3 nights I'd get on the scale before bed and see that I was the same or a few ounces heavier than I had woke up that morning. I made the mistake of getting on the scale just before typing this post and sure enough the scale is over 1-1/2 pounds heavier than this morning. There is no way I'm going to lose more than that (IF that) overnight. Oh well, It was a fun ride while it lasted. I couldn't really expect to keep losing a pound a day for long. Hopefully it will still keep coming off faster than it did the last few months though.
  25. Thanks for the offer I'd love to go out with everyone. Honestly. I probably sound like a broken record to some but I LOVE Ethiopian. There's a great little restraunt on the edge of the City Market that is the best. For the Ethiopian "Virgin" it is a food slightly similar to Indian food that is served communally on one large platter and everyone eats off of the same plate. Traditionally you eat it with your fingers using this type of No-Carb Crepe-like flat bread. But they are more than happy to give out individual plates and forks. If no one is interested in that I never say no to Mexican. But then again should I be considering options that don't include food as the central theme? Oh well still haven't learned what those activities might be.
