  1. Niterun, Tricare also set a date of service for me that was about 2 months after the approval date. The window was then open for about 9 months after that. It took me about all the 2 months to do all the preliminary work anyway. Best wishes, my total out of pocket was about $2100, hope you do better than that. Mimi
  2. Dolphin, I feel your pain. I am 3.5 months out and still haven't lost what I regained post op waiting for fills. PLEASE take comfort in your 39 pound loss and quit being so hard on yourself. Take all these well wishes and bolster your spirits and re dedicate yourself to the battle. You can do it, you have already proven that. Mimi
  3. JFran, you look great and thanks for posting. I will be following your thread. Mimi
  4. Mary, it is so aggravatingly slow and arbitrary!!!! You can go for a fill in 4 weeks and I have to wait 7 weeks to see the doc I don't want to see, I'd rather go and get a fill!!! Excruciating!!! Mimi
  5. The first night I tried it, everything was fine until I drank some cold milk. OMG, huge stuck episode for several minutes. Now I just eat it slowly and don't drink anything to chase it down. I LOVE peanut butter!!! Mimi
  6. I take many meds daily, including 2 capsules and have no problems. I am at 5cc in a 10cc band and am 3 months post banding. I, too, was worried, but so far so good. Mimi
  7. If you are able to drink OK then I think you might need to chew extra carefully and cut your food even smaller than you have been. My latest fill has caused me to get stuck on things I NEVER got stuck on before, and I don't even have great restriction!!! A simple banana got me this morning, surprise surprise!! Good luck, and if it doesn't get better you might want to call the doctor's office to discuss a small unfill. Mimi
  8. Hard question to answer. I personally think your choice was the right one, you were in public in a social situation. It is very likely these ppl know exactly what they are doing and would not have welcomed any input that they didn't ask for. Keep up the good work. Mimi
  9. Wanda, I am so sorry for all your problems. I hope they find out what the problem is and you get well fast. By the way, who is your Doc? Mimi
  10. You are hot hot hot!!!!! Way to go, Kelin!!!!! Mimi
  11. Call your Nutritionist or Surgeon tomorrow and see if you can get permission to move up to the next phase. Best wishes on coping successfully with a difficult situation. Whatever the answer is you can cope.....you are a mother!!!
  12. Could she stop eating/drinking (except water) after 6 PM? That helped me. Mimi
  13. I take many pills twice a day with no problems. I do use chewable vitamins and calcium, though. I am at 5cc in a 10cc band. Mimi
  14. I take it and the only thing I have noticed is that my blood sugars are a little elevated. It didn't affect my appetite or weight. Good luck, I hope it helps you. Mimi
  15. I was in a similar position as far as needing to gain weight to qualify. I have no embarrassment in telling you I ate everything I craved, including several chocolate mousse cakes that were umm umm good. Those 10 pounds left quickly when I reverted back to my usual diet. I also did every thing Jachut mentioned, lol. I was determined to get banded. And I did!!!! Mimi
  16. Stinky, I am so happy you are doing well and called the doctor when you did. I have been wondering what happened so thank you for posting. Mimi
  17. LuluC I am sorry for your loss, too. They make us so happy and their loss makes us so sad. Mimilou
  18. Teri, my heart goes out to you. Don't hold the tears in, cry as much as you need to. It has been 2 years since my beloved Mr Budd went over the Rainbow Bridge and I still cry for him. They are special members of our life. Mimilou
  19. Go to the Library or a friend and look up treamills in Consumer Report's index, they did a rating in the last year or so. I have been happy with their input when making my choices. Mimi
  20. Shalee, thank you for posting your pictures. You are a beautiful woman and have gone through a lot bravely. Mimi
  21. One thing I haven't seen mentioned here is the inclusion of Vitamin C near the time of taking the iron supplement. Any citrus fruit or juice will help the absorption of iron from the source. Mimi
  22. You look awesome!!!! Congratulations!! Mimi
  23. I just got my bill for my first fill and the charge was $500!!!!! My co-pay was $88. Highway robbery in my opinion!!! Mimi
  24. I know the soups you are talking about and while they are delicious, they aren't broth. Broth you can see through. Mimi
  25. Good for you!!!!! Looking fine there!!! Mimi
