  1. I don't think you should wait to see if the swelling goes down. Another 1/2 cc out will make a lot of difference. Are you keeping sips down? Peeing every couple of hours? I hate that you are going through this, good luck. Mimi
  2. It actually sounds like there is a bend in the tubing and that the push pressure can open it but the pull back pressure collapses it....darned if I can think of what this is called. I hope you don't have to have more surgery, that your fill is just right. Mimi
  3. Sounds dreadful!!!!! I think our freedom of speech on this forum is wonderful!!!! Mimi
  4. I am glad you are healing and will soon get a new port. I am pleased that you have no band erosion and wish I could knock that radiologist upside the head. Darn it, too bad you can't prove he did you in, you could take him to legal task!!!! It is wonderful that you are able to practice restraint in eating, without my band I don't think I could manage. Best of luck, Mimi
  5. I think it is a good idea to call the office, they might have a better idea or even tell you to eat until they come!!!! Good luck, Mimi
  6. Kathy, I am so very proud of you...you ROCK!!!!! Mimi
  7. Are your pictures too big? I click on the Avatar button and upload my pictures via brouse. Good luck!!!! It is about time for me to change to my miniature's picture....he isn't as pretty as my girl, LOL. Mimi
  8. Some ppl do get a small unfill if they keep losing past what they want to weigh. The great thing about the band is its adjustability!!!! Mimi
  9. Well, for me maintenance is not gaining or losing except within a narrow range of 3 pounds. Adjusting my exercise and calories to accomplish this is hard for me, not necessarily for everyone. Every time I would lose weight, before banding, and get to whatever goal I had in mind, I would fall back into old patterns and re-gain. Mantenance for me is not letting this happen while trying not to let the focus of my life be about my weight. I hope I answered your question. Mimi
  10. I am glad you could tell Mary how to put up the ticker, Kimmy, because I couldn't. Mary, I am so happy you don't have band erosion and I agree with you, the proximity of the infection date to the fill dates is highly suspect. I do so hope you heal quickly and can get re-ported soon. Thank you for your compliment on my girl, have you posted a picture of yours? Mimi
  11. Dehydration, low blood pressure, leftover anesthesia, plus pain meds are all possible causes of what you describe. Also low blood sugar. Drink more (especially calories), rest, and get up slowly when you change position. Best wishes, Mimi
  12. Can the Zyrtec be switched to PM's since it is a 24 hour pill? I do think you probably drank too much water all at once. I agree, wait it out. I have the same problem several times a week. Mimi
  13. What worries me is that an infected port could also mean band erosion. Everytime I read a post about port infections I worry. I am sorry this infection happened to you and I hope you heal quickly. Mimi
  14. Hi, Ruth...I set my target wt arbitrarily. I didn't know what I could accomplish until I got down to 120 and liked it. For my height I am on the high end of OK, I am barely 5 ft tall. I am in maintenance which is a whole new dance program for me. I have spent most of my life yo-yoing up and down. Good luck, Mimi
  15. I am sure it is fine with those numbers but make sure you take a multivitamin, Another one that is yummy to the max is Whey Gourmet Cookies and Cream. I get mine off the internet and enjoy the heck out of it. For more complete nutrition a Ready to Drink (RTD) from Walmart, etc, is the Atkins line or Myoplex. These RTD's have vitamins and minerals. And if you like Slimfast, they aren't too bad either. There are lots of options available for you and if you use the search function you will see many threads about ppl's recommendations. Best wishes, Mimi
  16. To work on this problem I have been spending a lot more time in front of the mirror and any mirror I pass. I also take as many snapshots as I can and really look at them. This is going to sound a little strange, but I deliberately run my hands over my skin while I am looking in the mirror so that I see and feel the changes at the same time. Peoplel keep telling me I am tiny but my head isn't there yet so I really understand where you are coming from. I think it is part of the whole journey. Best wishes, Mimi
  17. Elcee and Jalomom have both written excellent posts....I am tired of reading the silly sugary posts patting the poster on the back and saying poor baby. We must get real and firm to give the best REAL support to those in need, like this thread starter obviously is. Mimi
  18. Sweetie, you are overfilled and need a little unfill, even though you think you can lose wt too tight, it is a struggle to keep the food down that helps keep you full. I know of what I speak as I am in the same position and am going in as soon as I can get an appt. Best wishes, Mimi
  19. Allison, tell us more about your relocation....I look like I have an alien about to pop out!!!! Did you switch to a low profile? How does it feel? Thanks for any info you can share!!! Mimi
  20. Excellent question....I would think it would go away, mine did. Mimi
  21. I don't fault you for gaining to make the mark, just make sure you have the required co-morbidity before putting on the wt. Best wishes, Mimi
  22. I, too, sometimes feel it go through into my big stomach, and after reading the other posts, I realized that it is more often after I have been stuck! Strange!! Mimi
  23. I hope you don't have erosion, I will keep thinking good thoughts for you. I always gain that fast when I am unfilled, so I feel your pain. It is all about the ability to eat more and doing so. Loss of restriction is a bummer. Best wishes, Mimi
  24. Lisa, thank you for posting your experience. I am at a similar place with the reflux and stomach burning, PBing, etc. I have an appt soon and hope for just a small unfill. Best wishes. Mimi
