    Failure......but today......

Water weight is still weight that has to come off before the rest does, so GREAT JOB!!! I am down 3 myself. I turned all my paperwork in to my new doc and hopefully will get an adjustment for the first time in 3 years in the next couple of weeks I'm hoping that helps too. HAPPY FRIDAY everyone!!!
  3. I will take a look at the LB diet. It has been a long time since i've glanced at it. Thanks for the tips and I am definitely not giving up. I didn't go through all this to just give it up. I am going to fight for what I want and take control of my choices again.

    Failure......but today......

Hi everyone. I am in the same boat as you all. I was banded in November 2008. I lost 60 pounds fairly quickly and was feeling awesome. Got married, got comfortable and gained back 50 of it. Today that number is creeping up closer to that starting point and I refuse to let myself get back there. So today I start over. I am going to try to do liquids today to see if I can get myself bacck in the mode again and then try to do mushies for a day or so. Any suggestions on starting over? My biggest issue is drinking to wash it down so I can eat more. That is going to be my number 1 goal to stop as of this very second. WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!
  5. I am looking for some suggestions from those who had slips and gained weight back. I was banded in 2008 and lost 60 pounds fairly quickly. I have gained 50 of that back. Today I decided to go on liquids for 2 days (if i can make myself do it), and then mushies the next day after that to try to get myself restarted. I'm also going to make a solid effort to put that drink away while eating. That is my biggest downfall. I am hoping to generate some feedback and suggestions for those of you that have had the slip-ups like I had. How did you get back in the game?

    4 years post-op

I am right there with you. I had the lap band back in 2009 and lost 60 pounds within 3 months. I have gained 50 of it back. Unfortunately I also found the loop holes like drinking while I eat to wash it down so I can eat more. Now i'm struggling with breaking that habbit again. So today I am re-starting my journey. I am on liquids today and tomorrow to see if I can get my stomach to not hold quite so much. After that, I will go to mushies for a day or two and slowly add back higher Protein foods and set my drink FAR FAR away from me during meal time. If anyone has any other suggestions, I would love to hear them. I may start a topic to see if we can generate some responses on how people got "back in the game".

  9. Hey everyone. I am so sad LOL not really but i hit 29.5 today on pounds lost and i was really wanting to see 30 down But that's ok, i'll definitely get it next week. Hope everyone is doing great.
  10. Hey everyone. I had my 3rd fill last week. I'm at 6.5cc's now. I can really tell a difference and now the scales are starting to move. I'm so excited. I gotta get back into the gym though. We had an ice storm here so i'm stuck in the house for a couple days but as soon as the roads are clear i'm haulin my butt to the gym  I hope everyone is doing great.
  11. LOL they really are torture aren't they. I did them for awhile about a year ago. The first time my butt was so sore i could hardly sit. I even waited several days to go back and that was painfull, I should have waited a week LOL. you really do get used to it though. The gym i'm at now doesn't have them anymore. I don't know if that's a good thing or bad LOL. Hang in there, it gets better Buy one of those nice gel seats, it helps a lot.
  12. Wow that is amazing. You're doing great on the exercise. I definitely need to step mine up a bit. Yesterday I swam for 30 minutes. It was a pretty good work-out but I need to go more often. I talked myself out of going today so i'll be there tomorrow rain or shine. I haven't been in about a week I slacked off a bit but now that i'm feeling more comfident I think I can make myself go more often. I can't wait until the weather is better so I can go outside more often. It's so cold right now. I will be swimming a ton in the summer too
  13. Hey everyone. I am so excited. I hit 25 pounds lost. I feel so satisfied with a small amount of food. Things are really starting to look up. My mom gets her first fill today. She's excited. I hope things go great for her too. :wink2:
  14. Jaime isn't it amazing how different the docs are? Mine tells me even one small sip can turn the food into mush and it goes through easier. She's informed me not even a swallow of liquid for 30-45 minutes after eating. That is the hardest thing for me but i bought myself one of those 2 dollar timers with the loud loud chime on it LOL. I set it for 30 minutes after I eat and won't drink until it goes off. It's really helped a lot. She also contradicted my surgeon and told me that drinking before the meal shouldn't be an issue. My surgeon told me nothing to drink 15-30 minutes before and 30-60 minutes after. It's amazing how many opinions there are out there. I'm basically using using the doc that does the fill and drinking before but not after. So far so good.
  15. Hi lfein229  I am right there with you on the exercise routine. I did really good for awhile but the last week i've slacked off a lot. I'm planning on really picking up the pace next week. I'm finally starting to see the pounds come off again. That 2nd fill did it for me. I get stuck sometimes but as long as i chew chew chew, it does ok. Mornings are insanely restricted for me. Even water i can fill go through the band, but as long as i drink a few good gulps about 15 minutes later i can get some breakfast in. This morning i was only able to eat 1 egg and half a piece of bacon It was so great. I used to eat 3 eggs and tons of bacon for breakfast. I'm so happy that it's finally starting to really work out. I do get hungry every few hours, but as long as i eat a good amount of protein for the meal, it lasts usually until the next meal. I am again loving the band. :cool2:
