Candigrl1 got a reaction from liveaboard15 in Hair is starting to thin a bit
My hair shedding started around month 3 and is finally decreasing a bit. I had already had massive shedding before surgery so maybe that's why it slowed down so fast. I see lots of scalp now but I'm going to wait until it stops then see the hairdresser about what type of cut I want. Hang in there it will start to decrease and eventually stop.
As for the stalls I usually get one every month and of course this month was no exception. I reexamined my diet and found I was drinking way too much Crystal Light (approx 50-60 oz) and have switched back to plain Water and have started losing again though a bit slower.
Stay safe out there in Florida!

I think I might be a close runner up to Queen of the Stalls. LOL we will see.
I had my first stall two weeks after surgery that lasted about two weeks. I have since then had one every month since surgery. They usually last up to two weeks with the main one lasting 3 weeks. This last one is still going on. Meh It will drop eventually.

Eat the amount of calories your team advises you to eat. I thought the same as you did in the beginning the stall will pass, it sucks right now cause you are in the middle of it but it will pass. I have been through four stalls since my surgery and I still lost weight maybe I will hit another and maybe not but I'm not too worried about it right now. Stay strong.

I really wish more doctors and Nutritionist would give more detailed info on stalls. Mine only gave us a paper saying stall will happen with a pic of a staircase. I would think this board would see a lot less posts on stalls if they only explained it better.

I wanted to ask everyone this question. When your Hair loss started did it just start falling out alot all at once or did it start with some shedding that increased?
    Thank you

I also get pretty sick if I overeat. I have come to learn when to stop and walk away from the plate because I want to avoid feeling that way again after eating. Once your signals start you will learn to stop as well.

Candigrl1 got a reaction from STLoser in Fatty Liver almost Cirrhosis
    Hi,
I'm going to say the same thing others have written. Only you can decide for yourself.
One of the things that pushed me for surgery is that I had a fatty liver and didn't want to go through being sick because of my liver. One of the hardest things I have ever done is watch my son go through end stage liver disease and the subsequent transplant he was able to get. I would never wish having to get that sick on anyone. I'm sure your boyfriend is concerned about you but when you go to the clinic ask the doctor what can happen if your liver reaches the tipping point where it won't regenerate and then make your decision based on the information you get.

He is doing ok now, he's about 3 years out from transplant. Now all I have to do is get him to eat healthier. Your boyfriend can really help you after you see the liver clinic especially with the diet they may recommend. Or if your eating plan is ok then he can be your cheerleader to help you stay on course.

Only weighing in once a month! I don't think I can do it. I think that's the hardest thing to do. I'm down to weighing once a week now but will admit I was weighing everyday. I had to go down to every other day then twice a week and now I'm at once a week.

My bigger clothes are still sitting in bags waiting to go to Goodwill. I can completely understand the struggle to get rid of your bigger clothes. What helped me somewhat is to go and try on some new clothes at the store. Now if I can only get myself to buy them. LOL

It's normal. If you didn't lose weight for another couple weeks it would still be normal.
Get off the scale, it doesn't make you lose weight faster.
See? I didn't do the "scales lie" routine. I can change!
    Good luck,

I have it on good authority that scales lie. It must be true since I hear myself saying it all the time!
Smart scales just have more to lie about. Minimally more to obsess about.
    Good luck,

Candigrl1 reacted to DaisyAndSunshine in 100+ Lbs gone! 🥳
I have been wanting to create a topic on my weight loss journey after having reached BMI of under 30 and not being obese anymore but thought to wait it out so I can cross off other aspects from the checklist.
    This morning I weighted - 133.2 Lbs. Height is 4' 10.2" (148cm). BMI 27.6.
Heightest weight was 234 lbs, of which I lost 15lbs pre-Op and another 10 lbs during the pre-Op diet. I was at 210 lbs on the day of the surgery.
So officially I have lost 100+ lbs of my highest weight ever 🥳
This is the lowest I have ever been ever since I remember. Last lowest I remember was 137lbs, more than a decade ago, post Dr. Bernstein's weight loss program. But that weight loss program kick started the vicious cycle of yo yo dieting and wrecked metabolism, which I hopefully isn't the case anymore with much more controlled healthy eating habits.
I just wanted to thank so many of the folks out here who have been extremely supportive not only on the open forum but also in DMs. During the ever so confusing beginning months, this forum came to help time and again. If not for this one, I wouldn't have known about the 3 weeks stalls. Clinic never covered this aspect of the weight loss and I definitely would have freaked if not for the knowledge I consumed out here.
So thank you everyone for making this community friendly, supportive and helpful. I still have a bit more to go to achieve my goal and get under 25 and hopefully maintain around 22 or 23ish of BMI, but I'll cross the bridge when and if happens. For now, just enjoying the joy of my current physical and mental state of mind.
This surgery truly has blown a new life within after wanting to give up on it time and again in the past. Truly grateful for taking in the dive. 🥰
