Lipedema diagnosis after VSG
I recently got diagnosed with stage 1 type 3 Lipedema 1.5 years after my VSG. The reason that pushed me to explore because I had lost weight all overall but my legs didn’t change much compared to the drastic changes I had in the rest of my body. The pain, heaviness and bruising I had before surgery continued. I had originally thought it was related to my weight. My surgeries are booked with a Specialist Lipedema Surgeon, they will take place later this year (hopefully all goes according to plan). I was wondering if anyone else is going through this too? I would love to hear anything you would like to share.

1.5 years post op weight regain
My pants still fit. A slightly snugger fit. I am adopting a different strategy. One that was mentioned of giving myself a week to incorporate one habit at a time. I get very impatient and want to do everything all at once which is great for the first day or 2 but very difficult to maintain. I am working on sleeping 2 hours earlier first. I also started taking Berberine. Let’s see how it goes.

Berberine, PCOS, and RNY?
@sleevetobypassthank you for sharing. What is the dosage you consume per day if you don’t mind me asking. I am on day 2 of 500 MG.

Berberine, PCOS, and RNY?
I know this thread is a few years old but I thought I would ask how it went @dolphinkrazy22 I am 1.5 years post op. I had a VSG. I regained 10 pounds recently because I wasn’t as vigilant with my post op routine as I was right after surgery. I recently purchased Berberine and will be starting it tomorrow. I have a solid workout routine and have been consistent with strength training. I am hoping the Berberine will help with inflammation, performance, and weight loss. Let’s see how it goes.

1.5 years post op weight regain
Thank you so much @NickelChip @Arabesque and @MandoGetsSleeved for your responses. I guess you all summed it up in one way or another. I stopped tracking as much, I went back to eating habits I had before the surgery and I was feeling sorry for myself instead of taking ownership. I needed this - I can’t thank you enough. I will give myself grace and start small with incorporating back habits that helped me lose the weight in the first place. I am really grateful for this community. My family and friends do not know I had surgery so it has been a little lonely. I am looking forward to getting back on track

1.5 years post op weight regain
This year has been a tough year for me. I finally hit a “normal” BMI range. They weight was slowly coming off around the 1 year post op mark. I have been trying to maintain the weight and it has been slowly creeping back on. I am worried that it is a slippery slope back to my post op weight. I want to get back on track but am lacking the motivation and I feel overwhelmed. I have gained 4.5 kilos in 6 months and I am not happy about it. Ideally I would like to lose this weight and then a few more kilos to hit my target weight. I have been working out consistently and have increased my muscle mass as well. Initially it was muscle but the 4.5 kilos is not fat. I also have body dysmorphia which doesn’t help. My appetite has been fluctuating and I know I have been consuming much more sugar and refined carbs. Any suggestions on how to get back on track to losing and keeping the weight off. I feel as helpless as I did before I decided to opt for surgery. If anyone can relate please let me know what you did? Thanks in advance

Feeling Stuck
I related to this thread so much. I was there for a few weeks. The scale didn't move... my measurements were not changing... I was snacking on more carbs... Not hitting my protein intake... not sleeping well... work and family commitment related stress... the weather didn't help... I was not going to the gym as often as I'd like... all of this contributed to feeling low... I noticed my self talk was centered around guilt and shame. I was stuck in what seemed a downward spiral feeling very overwhelmed. I was there for a month and a half. Over the last few weeks I focused on taking one day at a time, being present in every moment with conscious intention, focusing my mental health, sleeping more, taking one day at a time, snacking on occasion without over indulging. This week I stood on the scale and I notice I had lost a few pounds. You can do this. You have done such an amazing job. You are so close to your target weight?

Its amazing how subtle in can be - where no one notices but it makes such a difference. Has anyone tried micro needling on the lose skin particularly on the body? please share your thoughts and experience

Rant. I’m adding to the post WLS divorce statistics
I am so sorry. I am in the same boat. We have been married for 12 years. We grew distant over the years as I put on weight. We have grown more apart after WLS. I too suggested counseling and his response was "I am fine and don't need to see a therapist". I have been seeing a counselor for the past 9 months. I have made progress but don't know how to proceed as I don't want to lose custody of the kids despite me being the primary caregiver / guardian (The legal system in my country grants custody to the father unless he forfeits). I am with him just for the kids. I feel stuck.

Ugly, boring, and weak
Thank you all for sharing. Reading the comments has been more helpful. I lost a lot of weight on my face particularly mid face volume. I am not near my target goal yet but I was looking tired and haggard. I got botox and dermal fillers recently and it made such a difference. It's subtle and I am very happy with the results. My injector was mindful to inject in a way that he could build on gradually. I have not had dermal fillers or botox before.

April 2022 Surgery Buddies
Hi everyone, I hope you are all well. I had a question - I am 8 weeks post op and for the past two weeks I don't feel like eating at all. I have to remind myself. Previously I was ravenous. I also noticed that I am tried when I previously wasn't. I manage to hit my daily protein targets through shakes. I am having all my supplements. I am struggling with water and food. Has / is anyone else gone / going through this?
