  1. Hi! I’m 5 weeks post-op RNY and everything I eat makes me queasy! I mean everything!! I spoke with my physician and they said it’s normal and to give it time. Has anyone else experienced this?

    Two days out

Wow everyone! Thank you so much for all the support and encouragement. I appreciate it so much! I’m now 5 days out and I feel so much better. I’ve figured out what works for me and thinks are getting better. I see my doctor today and I’m hoping he advances my diet, because to be honest, I am soooo over jello and popsicles!! 🤢 you guys really helped me. Thank you thank you thank you!

Hi. I had my RNY on Friday and ugh, I’m feeling it. I’m so bruised and swollen and when I drink I feel like I’m just swallowing a ton of air- even though I know I’m not. It all just hurts. I’m having trouble finishing motivation and making my fluids. Advice? Thanks. -Jenn
  4. Hello. This is my first post, so I hope I’m putting this in the correct area. Introductions: I’m Jenn. I’m 36 years old, I’ve been married to an amazing man for 18 years, I have two kids (17 & 16 y/o), I’m a NICU nurse, and I’m 5’1” and 231 lbs with a BMI of 43.6. I’ve had two knee surgeries, I have heart issues, and just got diagnosed with sleep apnea. I’ve decided to move forward with surgery and I’m a bit nervous. My insurance requires a 6 month “medically supervised” weight loss program and this month will be my last appointment with my doctor before I can get my referral to the surgeon. I have a few questions for y’all: what helped you make the decisions between VGS and a traditional bypass? Also, I’m having trouble telling my friends in fear that I will be judged- which is weird because my friends are not the type of people who judge! But I think I don’t want them to seem me in a different light I suppose. How did you overcome these fears? Thanks for the advice!

  9. Hello everyone. I am thinking of getting the Lap Band and have a couple of questions.... My BMI is 36, now I know that is a little low, but I have high cholesterol, major back pain, and joint pains, and a few other minor issues. I have tried everything under the sun to lose the weight on my own but the weight never comes off. I will admit I have an addiction to food (since I quit smoking) and I know this has led to much of my weight gain. I have a family history of morbif obesity, and other major health issues. I am wanting to get my weight and health under control before it becomes majorly out of control and I have major health issues. And I am on the path to it! So here goes the question... do you feel that I would make a good canidate for this? Do you think I will be approved? My insurance pays for damn near anything. Should I wait till my BMI is more? Thanks for the help. Jenn:crying:
