  1. well i would like to just say shoot him.. but that wouldnt be right i suppose. next best thing is to throw him out
  2. Congratulations to the last of the September Samauri's. I was banded yesterday and have not noticed much of a difference as of yet. I am still sitting in my private hospital room watching tv and sucking down an atkins strawberry shake. I have also been walking, walking, walking.
  3. I hope everyone faired well today. I did not have to be at the hospital until 10:45 and the surgery was delayed a bit. I did not get to my room until after 6pm. I did the 11 day pre-op diet and lost 13 lbs in that timeframe. As of the time of this posting (12:43 am) I have been up twice walking, pee'd twice (tmi i know) and just waiting for a big giant gas bubble. I do see the 'pain' that people talk about in their left shoulder. I have it myself but isnt too bad if I walk. ttyl
  4. for me staying at the hospital is working out great. I am here now and I have cable tv, someone waiting on me when I need something. I am getting to have my first Protein shake after the surgery earlier this afternoon. good luck to all.
  5. I also had the same issue before my surgery, which took place today. My surgeon told me that if I had a nasal infection that I could not have the surgery done and would have to put it off. Lucky for me it everything was ok and my congestion was slight.
  6. I have done exactly as the doctor has told me as well. He did not require me to just have liquids. I had a Protein shake for Breakfast, one for lunch and a protein dinner with green vegetables. I would normally have a piece of beef, chicken or pork with my veggies.
  7. Thanks Audrey, I am sort of looking forward to this and the change that it will make in my life. I know it will take time and I am willing to work at it because I feel like that I am starting on a new journey and not faced with the same failure of always being hungry.
  8. HI GIGI, I am patty and live in tampa, fl. I am lucky I only have one week of full liquids and then go into mushies phase.
  9. To all of you September 29th banders. CONGRATULATIONS!!! I myself am being banded and expect everything to go well. I sit here at work and sip on my Protein shake as I wait to leave and all I can think about is my last burger for a while. I plan on going home and making my burger on the george foreman. I was so tempted to go out last night and have my last chance of wings but once I got out there I made the decision it was not worth it. Who would have thought I would ever turn down wings. Tides are a changing and I am definitely ready...
  10. CHICKEN WINGS! I am DYING for them. I can taste them. I would give anything for the last 10 I will see in a while. however, i have less than 2 days till my banding GRRRRRRRRRRRR
  11. I also go on monday for my surgery. I fortunately do not have to drive 4 hours as mine is right around the corner. good luck on your adventure.
  12. haha.. that is too funny about your mama. Yes, they make me laugh out loud and I feel like I am transported in time. i started reading them years ago and went to get 14 last night at walmart but they did not have it.
  13. CONGRATULATIONS to all you 24th banders. I am sure ya'll will do great and wish you a speedy recovery. You will have to let us know how you are doing afterwards. I go on Monday the 29th (yes, i previously put the 30th but apparently cant read the calendar lol)
  14. dont feel too bad I thought I could have a last meal closer than what actually happened. I am on 2 Protein shakes a day one protein meal for either lunch/dinner. I was thinking god I would give ANYTHING to have 10 wings the night before my surgery.
  15. OMG............ I love the janet evanovich books. I still have to get #14 but I grew up in jersey not far from that area so I SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO identify with it. they make me laugh outloud.
  16. i am having mine covered through insurance and am staying overnight. i may be having a little bit later surgery as of right now im supposed to go in at 3:30 pm but chances are it will be moved up. i just like the idea of having professionals there if i need it and pain meds administered when i need it.
  17. well it sounds like you are all ready to go. just long enough for one to heal before the other one goes through. have either one of you called the dr to ask any other questions during this process? I know that i have as i was supposed to get an allergy shot tomorrow but i didnt wanna get it without their approval and they said no. I am still tryin to get the stuffies out of my note. I am feeling 10x's better and sound better.
  18. maybe i wasnt clear i have the surgery on the 29th and i retrn on the 6th of oct. but then i have my normal days off on tue and wed so i will only work that one day of the 6th and be off the following 2 days as apart of my regular scedule
  19. I am sure you will do great. I have had outpatient surgery before so I am ok with that portion except that I have not had the tube down my throat.
  20. Hey there, Yeah I kind of figured after I looked at his profile he was. haha I know he goes in tomorrow and I am sure he is very anxious and will do wonderful. You will have to let me know how he does tomorrow once ya'll get settled. I am doing well on my pre-op diet. I have really only had one day that was really bad and that was day 3. I did not cheat in any fashion but I was so hungry. At this point I am taking it just one day at a time and listening to my stomach when I need to eat again. I already have my time approved off from work so I will be able to relax comfortably. I will return to work the following monday but I am always off on tue and wed so I would only need to get thru the one 10 hour day and then have another 2 to rest again. How is your pre-op going?
  21. oh yea and forgot to mention. I have to do liquids the first week after surgery.. not just clear ones. Then week 2 and 3 I get to do mushies
  22. Not sure about anyone else but I have worked very hard to get to this point. I am doing my pre-op diet and have not cheated with one morsel. Even when I cried in the grocery store on saturday I did not give in. If my doctor tells me to stand on my head and count to 50 I will do it. I dont want to risk any chance of failure on this one.
  23. CONGRATULATIONS!!!! There is another one of us as well who is being banded 2 days after me. I am going in on the 29th (monday). Then there was someone else that I believe has already been banded. You'll have to post how you did when you get home to let us know how you did. How is your pre-op diet going?
  24. thanks for all of the information. I think I may look into a wedge for the bed since I have great pillows but not sure they would be good for support on layin on.
  25. Hello, I have seen alot of people post that the first night or two they sleep in a lounge chair in their living room (not the backyard kinds). I do not have one of these available to me and was wondering if this would be an issue. What are your thoughts on this as I only have a bed.
