  1. yup everyone is different. We all loose at different rates. Some are quick, Some are slow. Its just the way it is. Just stick to your plan and enjoy life.
  2. We cant tell you that. Every program and insurance have their own requirements. So you need to check to see what yours is. BUt very doubtful. Wear a weight belt when they weigh you lol
  3. This is what i was cleared to eat after 2 weeks... Now i tell you all surgeons are different. Some wont allow this type of food for much longer. but i didnt have any issues with this. You should be following what your surgeon says
  4. Your BMI is up there at 47ish. I would think you would be on a 1 week liquid diet but your surgeon knows best. I sure dont lol. But just because your surgeon said 1 day. Does not mean you cant do a week if you want and get a jump start on your weight loss... I have seen some on here start their pre op diet a whole month in advance. (which is not easy)
  5. that all depends on your BMI and surgeons. Some do only 1 day. Some do none, Some do 1 week or 2 weeks or a month. The whole point of it is to shrink your liver. Many of us who are overweight have lots of fat around our liver, But not everyone. What is your weight and height?
  6. if you damaged something or tore something you would know and be in pain. Me personally i wouldnt be doing heavy lifting for a couple months. As for everything else its great. I am 4-5 weeks out and i am going out for walks, using a stationary bicycle and waiting on my actual mountain bike to come back from the shop so i can start using it. I tried jogging yesterday but that did not work out too well with all my fat still bouncing around it was a little painful so i need to loose more fat before i start jogging or wear like a compression thing around my stomach
  7. i was on solid foods 5 weeks and soft foods 2 weeks after surgery. of course all surgeons have different length stages. Check with yours on how your stages will be from liquids, to puree to soft foods to solids.
  8. Its not something i ever let bother me... I personally dont care about other peoples opinions. If they wanna shame me... ok... have fun. I will continue on with my life.
  9. any insurance you typically have that wait. Usually its 6 months or so. but if you have the cash and want to do it sooner, go for it. but i would wait for insurance. I personally would have rathered gone to the Endohospital in mexico for the sleeve if i didnt get it done in the usa.
  10. 3 pints of just milk and yogurt? that provides barely any nutrients or protein I have never heard of that type of liquid pre op diet. For most people you do protein shakes. typically 3-5 a day. of course all surgeons are different but yours seems a bit odd...
  11. Balloon? I had no idea that that was even still a thing. BUt have you talked to the doctors who did it yet about the issues? Vomiting everyday is not a good thing. I had gastric sleeve surgery and i only vomited in the hospital after the surgery.
  12. Yup i sure do have all my receipts. and i paid with my debit card so those transactions are there
  13. So i called the hospital this morning and the person was like "Yes you had surgery and you used your insurance" i was like BULL SHIZZ... i am self pay and i had to pay before i could even schedule my surgery. so now they gotta investigate and said they will let me know in 20 days... wtf
  14. Wow i am sorry that happened. Thats one thing i hate sometimes is you want to get tested or checked out and they just brush you off. They did that to me last year when i kept having chest pains. I went ahead and took action on my own by going online and purchasing lab orders and imaging orders when my doctor wouldnt. But yea a simple CT Scan at the hospital or even the primary giving him 1 imaging order would have found that quickly and saved him. Again i am sorry that happened
  15. WOOHOO. Congrats! yea at my hospital they dont even let you lay down in the bed. I had to sit and sleep on a recliner and constantly had to go walking around the floor.
  16. the funny part is i could not even schedule the surgery until i called the hospital to pay. The surgeons office fee i paid there during my appointment. For a second i thought my insurance would pay it and i would get back my $18 grand lmao. But nope i can see in the claim already that they denied it and that i am responsible for the $40K LOL But i sure will be calling tomorrow several places.
  17. So i had my surgery 4 weeks ago and i am self pay. I paid about $18K... Today i checked my insurance and looks like the hospital made a claim for the surgery... My responsibility amount... $40,000. when i saw that i was like WTF is this claim? Oh i am going to be making phone calls tomorrow... lmao. WTF. They trying to double dip. haha.
  18. When i was hungry on the liquid diet after surgery i just had some more shakes to try to fill me up and it worked a bit. but you will make it. That 2 weeks after surgery sucks because that is the strict liquid diet unlike pre op where sometimes you can have a little something extra or different lol
  19. Not a single thing i have eaten has caused me issues yet. Some of the stuff i have eaten are. Salmon, trout, tuna, crab legs, imitation crab, shrimp, chicken, onions, butter cookies (Just 1 or 2), eggs, cheese, turkey sausage, olive oil, chili.
  20. I had mashed potatoes about a week after my surgery without issue. Mashed potatoes are on my list for the purred stage
  21. Yea you are not suppose to drink for 30-45 minutes (To let your protein get absorbed) But if i feel like i have food stuck in my throat. i do take a small sip. I can eat a little quicker but i make sure not to. I take a bite like every few minutes. As for drinking before meals. This came up during my last nutritionist class and they said you can drink right before eating that its not a issue. But my paperwork says the drinking after eating thing is life long. (Tho of course all surgeons are different with their rules and such lol)
  22. Walking is boring lmao. and i forgot my headphones and was like ahh screw it. I have a nice mountain bike that i want to ride but i need to get it serviced. Been sitting for a couple years now.
  23. So i had my surgery 4 weeks ago today. Today i decided to see how far i can push my walking as before surgery walking even 1,000ft i would be exhausted and in a lot of pain in my back. Today i walked almost 4 miles without issue. wasnt even breathing too hard, didnt need to take a break. Could have kept going but my feet hurt lol. Need to get me some proper shoes.
  24. I walk throughout my house all day. i am a person who cant sit still for long lol. but no i havnet spoken to my actual surgeon about it. it started happening right after my 2 week follow up and my next follow up is in 3 months.
  25. yes it was scary and for me it was only in my right leg. Its doing a lot better since last week
