  1. It typically takes several months for a stone to form...
  2. Typically 24/48 hours. EKG test is literally done and over with within minutes. Takes longer to put the probes on you than the actual EKG test. as for the chest Xray i had mine done and results sent to the my doctor in less than a day. Find a place that has a fast turn around...
  3. Nice. I am gonna have to check this out then if Baptist keeps giving me issues with th at psyc eval. i thought me being self pay things would get moving quick too.
  4. Thanks for the information. $15K Is not bad at all. Mine is a little over $18K. Did you have to get a Psyc Evaluation?
  5. Curious what insurance do you have? Mine wont cover any bariatric surgery so i am paying almost $20K out of pocket. as for the eval thanks for the link. I will contact them. I have tried other locations for the eval but my surgeons office is extremely strict and have rejected every single other one i have tried to get it thru.
  6. I went for the first consult on December 14. I have to get a psyc eval done and the next opening is in March unfortunately. Only after that will i know when i can get the surgery done.
  7. Just looking to see if anyone in this group is in my area and got their surgery here locally. Jacksonville, Florida. (I am getting mine done at Baptist Bariatric Center)
  8. Interesting. So how much did the surgery cost you in the UK?
  9. Wow yours sounds easy. I was told mine will be 2 hour interview and then a 600-800 question "Exam" on a computer that will take hours to complete. and then they will decide if i "Pass or fail" lol I was like SERIOUSLY? LOL
  10. I actually got upset about it and was very close to just going to a dealership and buying me a new jetski with the 20 grand i have put aside for this surgery lol. Its annoying because they are sooooo specific with the psyc evaluation. I found other licensed Psychologist that do bariatric evaluations and my doctors office rejected them all. I have to go with who they approve. I am like seriously??? LOL and the next available appointment for the psyc is in March. I even tried to bribe them and be like "I will pay double to get a sooner appointment" I got shut down haha.
  11. Lucky. I have to wait almost 3 months to just get the Psyc Evaulation that is required. Then i can get a date for surgery
  12. For those that are self pay. How long did it take from your first consultation to your surgery? I know insurance people have requirements and such so this question is for self pay people only.
  13. I already have 1. I want a new one lol. Which i do plan on getting soon but with surgery i would rather wait and recover and then buy one lol.
  14. I provided the report on initial consultation.
  15. Interesting lol. But paying out of pocket and these psych people charge over a hundred dollars an hour, seems to be in their best interest to keep you for extra sessions. We shall see what happens. If I do end up needing more sessions then i will contact endo hospital in Mexico and get it done there since they dont require it and save me about 10 grand lol.
  16. So basically if i fail the exam i cant get the surgery? Well then if that happens i am off to the dealership and buying me a brand new jetski with the $20K i have for the surgery lol.
  17. Interesting. I had a colonoscopy and Endoscopy earlier this year due to me having diverticulosis. No issues they mentioned. Just spasms in my large colon.
  18. I am planning on using the patches until i can eat solid food.
  19. When i first looked up this surgery and decided to get it i had no clue about the psychological evaluation part. I thought that was just maybe for people who use insurance and they require it. So far that is what is standing in the way of me scheduling my surgery. The psychologist the doctor is recommending has no openings for 3 months. 3 months literally wasted in my opinion. I tried going elsewhere and each one is rejected by my doctors office because they don't do very specific testing called MMPI and some other i forget what its called. I checked with the Endohospital in Mexico and they don't even do psych evals.
  20. Hi So i am planning on getting the sleeve. But i keep hearing about people needing revisions to bypass. Those that got the revision. Why? This worries me because i am paying cash for my sleeve which is roughly $20K and i dont have the money for a revision if that will be needed. Makes me not want to get the surgery at all.
  21. So i called for my psyc evaluation appointment today here in Florida and was told next available appointment is at the end of March... 3 dang months. No way to skip it. I tried going with a online psyc bariatrics evaluation doctor and my hospital rejected it and said no because they dont do it their way. I didnt think i would have to do this since i am paying cash and not using insurance. Endo Hospital in Mexico doesnt require a Psyc Evalucation.
