  1. When i had my first surgeon appointment the paperwork literally said bring someone as your support. But i did not. The appointment with the actual surgeon lasted maybe 3-4 minutes. Bet the pre op appointment will be the same. but yea go with someone else if you dont like them or feel comfortable.
  2. Welcome So tell us about yourself. What kind of Surgery are you planning on getting or got and maybe weight and height
  3. Oh wow you are not that big in my opinion. I remember being 190lb and i am 5'4 in high school. if i was 190lb now i personally would not be getting surgery. But thats me. Good luck on your surgery.
  4. curious what is your weight and height? Mine said i would have to do the 2-3 week preop diet lol
  5. I only googled and found this Medicare and Medicaid Medicare covers bariatric surgery as long as all the necessary medical criteria are met and documented. Our Straight Medicaid plans unfortunately do not cover bariatric surgery in the state of Florida. However, if you are enrolled in a Humana Medicaid or United Medicaid plan your bariatric procedure will be covered if you meet the required criteria. I hope you are covered. I was not tho i am on the obamacare health plans.
  6. I use Isopure Whey Protein Isolate UNFLAVORED. Not a fan of the flavored ones those flavors are very strong. https://www.gnc.com/whey-protein/NaturalIsopure.html I also bought some from this website bariatricpal in their store section. I love the little shooters that pack 25G of protein in that little bottle.
  7. LOL Yea last summer i was there in 2016 and it was in the 90's. very hot. I also do everything solo and that is how i like it. Yes i always carry everywhere i go especially in Alaska. Lots of bears where my property was but good thing is they always just pass on thru.
  8. Oh wow. that is the year my parents were born. Alaska was awesome and i miss it so much. I love the interior more tho. Love Fairbanks. Once i get this surgery and get healthy i plan on going back
  9. 422 to 119 that is impressive! Also i see you are located in Alaska. What part? I sold my property in Healy, Alaska to pay for this surgery.
  10. Check out this post from 12 years ago.
  11. Curious if anyone has any heart valve issues? I have mild Pulmonary Heart Valve Regurgitation. Wondering if there will be any issues getting the surgery. Its in the paperwork i handed to my surgeon when i first met him but that appointment was not even 5 minutes long.
  12. DONT GIVE UP... you just had surgery. Gotta give it time to heal and get things back to normal. you will be able to eat some of the foods you enjoyed before but much smaller portions but you gotta give it time. This is a process. Not a quick fix.
  13. Are you a minor or something? Me personally i dont care what anyone else thinks that includes family. If i am doing something to better myself then i will go with it regardless of what other people think. Not sure how they can sue the surgeon if you are an adult. If you have friends that are supportive those can be better than unsupportive family many times.
  14. Based on the study conducted by the University of Michigan, the average weekly weight loss of gastric bypass patients is around 5 to 15 lbs for the first two to three months. It starts to taper off to 1 to 2 lbs a week after six months. You should know that the rate of weight loss depends on the individual’s age, health, and starting weight. In addition, weight plateaus occur during the weight loss. However, if it lasts more than 6 weeks, then adjustments should be made. It is best for you to work with a dietician during this period.
  15. Its only been a month. Give it time and stick to it.
  16. Those GNC lean Shakes my favorite is Cookie batter. That stuff taste amazing
  17. I have never in my life seen someone say their weight that way. I had to google that lol.
  18. Have a couple squares and flush the rest lol.
  19. It should be. Its considered overweight. what is your weight and height?
  20. wow. Thanks for that information and sorry about all you went thru. I am at about 315lb. I didnt realize that i could pretty much gain it all back.
  21. You got the sleeve and ended up gaining all the weight back? what did you originally weight start at in 2016? and what did you make it to?
  22. What kind of surgery are you looking to get? You will loose weight but its a process and you have to stick to it. Which is why most hospitals have support groups, nutrition classes and such to help you. Part of my preop is attending the support groups which i have next week.
  23. Could be. I will swing by later today and check it out again and see since its right next to a sporting goods store that i need to get food for my frog lol.
  24. There is a aldis in front of my neighborhood. I have only ever been there maybe twice. I could rarely ever find anything good. Their selection is so limited and the stores are small.
