  1. Does anyone here smoke? I am not an avid smoker but do enjoy it every here and there. My nutritionist has told me to absolutely not smoke but i do not see how it would affect my stomach ? Just curious honestly. Google is giving me different answers lol
  2. Has anyone else kind of hit a stall? I knew it would happen I just didn’t know it would be this soon. I am almost 2 months postop and just started solid foods and it seems like I am gaining everything I lost but am following diet restrictions
  3. Oh gosh I don’t know what I would’ve done if I got it so soon after surgery! Thank goodness you are okay! I was pretty scared for a moment because I was practically bed bound I could not do much. Definitely cried to my doctor a few times lol
  4. Sleeved on 12/06, am having a pretty difficult recovery lol ended up getting COVID and it has set me back a ton. I had just moved to soft foods when I got sick and now can’t really eat. First 2 days did not eat or drink 1 thing. Now am slowly eating white fish but it’s just been such a long recovery for me I feel like I can’t catch a break
  5. Has anyone who was recently sleeved tested positive for COVID? I just did and I am extremely paranoid. I already have trouble getting fluid in but I feel like death
  6. I am almost 4 weeks postop , I was cleared to eat “soft” foods so my nutritionist told me to eat eggs and tuna until then. I’ve gotten an aversion to the smell of tuna because I work in the vet field and it makes me sick now. I have been eating puréed chicken salad, which she told me to wait until the 27th of Jan to start but it has been going down fine. What my concern is..I take a couple bites I’m FULL not even like 2 hours later I’m starving again and idk if this is normal or its my food addiction again?
  7. Hey guys! So I’m postop 3 weeks now, I got clearance to eat soft foods and I went a little crazy. I feel like I over ate and now am having abdominal cramps and retching. I need to work on having a better relationship with food for sure. But has anyone else been through this? I’m so disappointed in myself but will stay on the right path from now on
  8. Was sleeved 12/06, had my transition appt and on 12/27 I can start “soft” foods. I’m questioning what my nutritionist told me. She said I can have cottage cheese tuna hummus or tofu… and have to wait an entire month for chicken. And for some reason I just think it’s wrong? Practically everyone I know who was sleeved could have chicken already. I hate cheese tofu and hummus so am I supposed to live on fish for a month what the heck 😭
  9. Question y’all I’m like 16 days post op I’m still on liquids but does anyone get a sharp pain in their upper abdomen when they sip? It doesn’t happen all the time and only lasts like 3 seconds but my god it hurts so bad lol
  10. Today is my 14th day postop. I feel exhausted and honestly want to break down in tears. I don’t know if being emotional comes with the surgery but I feel like giving up. I can’t get the fluids I need in and I return to work tomorrow. I feel like I can barely get up and shower. Anyone else have energy/mood changes?
  11. It okay to scared and nervous but the procedure itself is so easy. It will be over before you know it. Pain wise you’ll have little to none.
  12. Hi! I believe it is normal, when you get discharged you leave 7-8 lbs heavier because they have pumped you with so much fluid. It happened to me but it has come off already for me and I’m day 14
  13. I have an appointment with my nutritionist and I’m trying to be a compliant patient but I’m just so frustrated lol i hope she tells me good news tomorrow. Hopefully I can eat some mashed potatoes or something soon 😭
  14. I’ve asked the office for clarification a few times, but clear liquids is all I’m “allowed”. I’m sure he knows best but I’ve seen people on week 2 already on soft foods :(
  15. @danita75 I was on clear liquids 2 weeks post op and now as well. I’m not sure why my doctor is asking me to do this but I brought it up and he just said keep at it 🙃 the 27th of December I can switch to full liquids and boy am I dying for a thick soup. I’m miserable, if anyone was to ask me RIGHT now if I recommend it I would definitely say no. Hopefully my mind changes :(
  16. I had my surgery December 6th….I’m REALLY struggling. Tomorrow will practically be week 4 of clear liquids and I can’t tolerate them anymore. My stomach will reject them and I am scared to vomit. Any tips? Or is anyone else dealing with this as well. My doctor simply says you need to drink …which is no help.
