  1. Thank you Laurinda- I will stock my purse up with gum! I'm just so upset..I know why I am going through all of this..and I know its for my own good but man..dealing with an addiction of food PLUS nicotine both at the same time..I really should have planned better...Not to mention, my "special visitor" decided to come to town today..LOL..So I am like GOING NUTS! Whew..thanks for the vent..
  2. OK-So I have 7 days left until my surgery date and I am sooo mad at myself!:cursing: I just can't get it together! My pre-op diet isn't even as hard as everyone elses...I can have meats! I am on a low carb high Protein diet and although most days have been good..today was a FLOP! After eating my dinner-steak and green Beans...I began having a HUGE "sweet tooth"...typically I can have some fruit or a diet dr pepper and be good.. Soooo, I had both and it didn't work so guess what I did....:sneaky: i went to Mcds...I know I shouldnt have but the sweet tooth turned into a craving for sweets and a cig!!! I dont know what happened..next thing i know i am at the drive thru ordering a small vanilla shake and 2 apple pies (2 for $1)....AND THEN they tell me that they don't have apple pies.... So I tell them to give me my money back...AND THEN the shake was nasty!! SO I got my money back from that...haha..(I think God was trying to help me) BUT I didnt listen..next thing I know I pick up a package of m&m Cookies and eat like 5. Now, I feel bloated..full..disgusting and just plain horrible. :cursing:I AM SOOO MAD at myself..I feel weak and don't know what to do... So, with everything said....Did I just ruin myself for the surgery that is supposed to change the rest of my life ( in 6 days) !!!
  3. I definetly understand the nervousness..but I have found alot of support on this forum and I think it will def. help you too! Blogging usually isn't my thing but I am finding it quite fun! haha...Keeps me smiling which hasn't happened in awhile! Good luck on the 30th!
  4. Thank you KDJess & Kathryn-Yes, I look forward to the long term goals. My biggest one is to be able to participate in an adult team..like slow pitch softball! I love that sport and this year was the first year my daughter played. I loved it! I want to be able to either play or coach softball without being looked at like..."What is she doing? She is too big.." ...ya know? It will happen for us all...I just have to remind myself to be patient and have faith...the rest is out of my hands! KDJess-Good Luck with your surgery Friday!! I wish you luck! Be sure to post how you feel afterwards..I will look for your update! KathrynH-Good Luck with your surgery too!! Yours is the day before mine...please keep me updated too!
  5. I wish you the best of luck! For some people, it's hard to believe how you could lose so much weight and then gain it all back but in reality, that's what happens to obese people like us. My story is not as traumatic as yours but I was on Weight Watchers for two years and lost over 75 pounds. My family and I move back to Texas and I gained 100 pounds within 6 months. It was very depressing and humiliating but I didn't care, I just kept eating..and lying to myself that I wasn't as big as I thought. I know how it feels to lose a battle but guess what...you are alive and will survive this heartache and you will win this battle. I think your surgery is the same day as mine..keep in touch! We can push each other to a new beginning and hopefully a HAPPY one!!
  6. Hi Julescincy 75-Thanks so much for the advice! I finally figured it out..haha..Pretty cool how the tickers work! Thanks so much for your advice on how you feel! I def. feel better and will continue to gather my support here. This is a great forum! Take care!
  7. Thank you ladies for the words of encouragement! I will definetly try to stay positive as I do know it is truly a blessing that I even got approved. I was on a war path for about 7 months and never thought I would get approved. Thank God for my advocate, Gail, who kept me thinking positive the whole time! Guess that's what I need sometimes...words of encouragement and support! Thanks again! Poohprecious-No, Im not on the slim fast pre op diet...I am on a low carb, high Protein diet...kinda like Atkins. Since Atkins was one of my past failures, I am finding it a little challenging. PLUS I stopped smoking last week too. Once I got approved, I promised my family and myself that I would stop. No need trying to save my life one way just to kill myself in another way. ....one more question, wayy off topic. How do you get the pretty pictures and tickers on your blog/message lines? I can't figure it out!
  8. Thank you for your story...it is truly a great inspiration! I am very excited for you and I appreciate your words of wisdom!
  9. Hey Everyone! Hope all is well! I am a soon to be banded patient and very excited!! My surgery is scheduled for July 29th and I can't wait! I'm right in the middle of the pre op diet and all I can say is...blah! It's not as hard as I thought it would be but it is crazy to think of everything you have to review just to eat!! But I guess it comes with the territory and with the new lifestyle. I'm new to this site and looking for support. I love reading some of the blogs and finding out that other people are going through the same thing I am! Quick question...did anyone ever get super super scared right before the surgery? If so, did any crazy thoughts go through your head like possibly not surviving the surgery?
  10. This is my first blog to this website so HELLO...I am currently in my pre-op diet 7 days in and 8 days left. It has been a huge struggle over the last 7 days not only to stick to the high protein, low carb pre op diet but I also quit smoking last Monday too. :whatchutalkingaboutNeedless to say, I have fallen off the wagon a couple of times with food and cigarrettes but I am back on the wagon and ready to go. From reading alot of the blogs it looks like my pre op diet is much better than most so I will now whine about it. I will say that food addiction is a hard thing to overcome in addition to smoking so I will not beat myself over a couple of weak moments. At this point I am looking for words of encouragement b/c I don't get them from home. I know I can do this and I WANT to do this but its hard to stay focused 100% of the time without support. So here I am.
