  1. Congratulations Juli, I'm pre band on South Beach Diet since May 17th. The picture was taken at our wedding on June 21st. After 29 years together, we finally got married. Yea!!! I have been worried about doing this at age 68, but several others in my support group are in their 60's so I'm feeling a bit better about it. Ten years ago I lost 85 pounds over two years but was only able to keep it off for another year then started regaining. It's not losing that's so hard, it's keeping it off. I'm hoping that the band will make it so I can't regain. Any other newlyweds from CA out there? Mary
  2. Hi, I'm 67 pre-op in San Diego. I'm planning on having the lap band done in September. I started on the SouthBeach diet per doctor instructions on May 15th. I've lost 16 pounds so far, and am hoping to get down another 15 or 20 before the surgery. I've found that eating slowly is a great help to me. I've always been a speed eater. It's so reassuring to find all of you in my age group who have had this done. I've been very worried about doing it. I've never had surgery, and have been afraid this would set me up for more problems than it would solve. Mary
  3. I'm looking for someone my age or older who has already had the procedure.
