Stalls are common & a necessary part of your weight loss. It’s when your body stops & assess the changes you’ve made & resets things like digestive hormones, metabolism, etc. based on your changes & new needs. Think of it as your body taking a breath to understand the stress you’ve been putting it through. Once it understands what you now need, your weight loss will start again.
Stick to your plan, don’t stress your body more. Your stall will break when your body is ready. They usually last between 1-3 weeks but it can be longer.
Can be difficult to compare what others are doing or achieving at a certain point in time. I was barely eating 900 calories at 6 months. Barely touched a carb except what was in vegetables & fruit & barely any sugar (still average less than 10g added sugar a day often only 5g). Most are eating way more than that. With your calorie intake you will still lose weight but I agree, your dietician is your best help.

I just checked my stats and by your stage I had lost 70% of what I ended up losing overall. But honestly it is different for every single person. You have done amazingly well so far and you may (hopefully DO) have further to go. The best way to max out your loss is to stick like glue to your programme. Some (I think a lot) of where we end up is determined by what your body decides is its new set point.
I hope you are celebrating your loss and the changes this will have made to your body. You must feel like a completely different person now. I totally understand the anxiety to lose as much as you can - I think most of us had (have!) that.
    Good luck.

Gosh. Thank you for sharing OP but lots of us have had a very different experience. So sorry that you've had such a difficult time adjusting to your surgery.
I totally agree that most people on this forum have tried to lose weight in the traditional ways (diet and exercise) and failed many many times. I'm not sure how you are relating that to your current experience though.
Please may I ask you - if you had to do it all again and not have the surgery and stay at 265 lbs whether that would now be your choice?

I had a sleeve 23 months ago and I honestly I think I have only just stopped losing now. It was half a pound a month or less for about the last 4-6 months, but still a downwards trajectory. Just really really slow! Totally believe that my body has found its new 'set weight'.
In the last 10 months I've lost 10lbs. That was faster earlier in the year and then really slowed down, obviously. In the 13 months before that I lost 130lbs. 💪
Best of luck to you OP - you still have loads of time to hit your goal weight!

You do simple elegance so very very well. Honestly I don't have the wherewithal.
Think I need to post some photos on this thread soon. I do so love seeing everyone else's. I just have a mental hurdle to jump over first (embarrassment).

Spinoza got a reaction from Nyxienoodles in Whole carbs or net carbs? How to break a stall?
I have never counted carbs following my sleeve. I associate that with keto/Atkins. I *do* count Protein intake and total calories - every day.
What I do find is that pasta/rice/potatoes/bread etc. aren't worth eating most of the time (unless I'm WLS masking, in which case I purposely use them to deflect attention). If I can generally eat meals that are protein first, veg second, carbs third then I am usually in the zone and happy.
    Best of luck OP!

Yes I totally agree, if we want to look at other people's photos (and I do) then we need to post some ourselves. I'll put a little something together this weekend. It has taken me forever not to buy clothes just because I was grateful they fitted, but instead because they look good. Almost there 2 years on.

Sounds like you're doing just fine OP.
I am almost 2 years post surgery. I have never set a timer to do anything (food or drink) but I know lots of us have benefited from that approach. I am a chugger and a gulper. I can see that this would not be good for lots of folks but it seems to have worked for me thus far. I eat what I think I'll be able to process (based on experience) and then stop. If I need more later then I will eat more.
At 6 weeks I was desperately trying to meet my Fluid and Protein goals. Nothing else mattered. I didn't do it every day. I never timed bites - not sure that would have been in keeping with my long term goals.

Very easy to make @spinoza. This is the recipe & the one for the caramelised onion tart I made for the previous drinks. As per usual I took the recipe & made small changes to suit me. Who follows recipes 😆😆 Next time I do the caramelised onion I think I’ll add olives.

Ha yes I've definitely experienced this. Haven't heard the term previously but I like it! Mine started once I lost about half my desired loss (I think).
I layer up all the time now. I am cold when others are warm, including in the summer. Is it worth it? Totally. Wouldn't even give it a second thought.

Studies show that the likelihood of losing this much and maintaining without surgery is basically 0%. So, the real choice was staying where you were (and likely gaining more) or WLS.
I'm sorry that you're struggling. Your outcome seems to be quite extreme, both physically and emotionally. Are you working with your WLS team to address? Engaged in therapy? This constellation of challenges seems to be beyond what you can address without help from medical professionals.

As others have stated, sorry you are going through so many issues and I appreciate when folks state the other side of things. That being said, I would say that many (if not most) of us who have had the surgery haven't experienced the post operative effects that you have had.
Personally, it's been 3 years for me. Without a doubt, the best decision of my life. I've been fortunate to have basically had zero negative side effects. This IS a life altering surgery. You won't be able to eat what you previously referred to as a "normal" sized meal. What we considered normal pre-surgery certainly wasn't healthy or we wouldn't have been obese...
I believe anyone considering the surgery should read EVERYTHING (positive and negative) and make the choice that is right for THEM.

I too am sorry you are experiencing so many difficulties. There always is a chance for side effects like with any surgery & it seems like you & your friends got the bad hand unfortunately.
Like @maintenanceman I too wondered if you are working with your team & surgeon to find solutions or ways of managing your challenges.
Sure I have a couple of issues I manage from my surgery. I experience the foamies more frequently than most & it varies from one occurrence to the next as to what set it off. It’s not a daily or even weekly thing but it happens. But my tummy always was a little quirky & it still is. I take a PPI every day because my previously managed & mild reflux is now a constant. Though some of my old reflux symptoms side effects (like hideous hiccups) are much improved which is a win in my mind. Rather have these couple of issues then still be at the weight I was. Because believe me I tried to lose my weight many, many times over the years. Sure sometimes I succeeded at times but it never lasted. This is the first time in my life (& I’m 58 now) I have lost weight & been able to keep it off as I have with this surgery.
How much are you able to eat? What do you consider is a ‘normal’ sized meal? So many meals & portions we are served are double or even triple what we should be eating & our view of a ‘normal’ sized meal have been screwed. The smallest piece of steak I can order anywhere from high end restaurants to a pub is 250g (they’re even often called a petit serve 🙄) which is more than double the recommended 85g (cooked) portion size for an adult.
I hope you receive some help & support soon.

So frustrating. It's less than 4 months since your revision though - this could be a long stall as opposed to the end of your losses. I hope you start losing again soon. You've done so well, you're an inspiration.
