  1. I am definitely NOT complacent with my band. I have folowed the rules, and have ended up with ulcers and now a slice. Comments like that are why I don't cone to this site much anymore. I was looking for support!
  2. Banded 5 years ago, been having tons of problems. Hard to swallow since EGD.
  3. No fluid in band. All removed last year because of ulcer.
  4. Does this mean Slip? Having upper chest pain, nausea, throat pain. EGD ON MONDAY。
  5. I am in the same boat ,reflux and nausea. Esophogram was ok waiting on upper endoscopy, I have to wait 2 weeks. Which I think is crazy since M.D. thinks slip or intolerance and wants to do revision to sleeve. What does everyone think of sleeve?
  6. I was banded the same time and I also in the same boat.

    complications

Wow. 33 days scary. Glad you are recovering. I think I am headed this way as well. Banded 5 years ago, great results year one. Then started having bleeding ulcers, I was hpylori negative, so that was a huge surprise. Went on meds and had total unfilled, 6 months rest turned into one year rest, now having horrible reflux and right sided abd pain. I had esophogram, which showed band in good position, now I have to wait two weeks for upper endoscopy. This feels the same as last time, maybe worse. My surgeon says that I would most likely be a good revision candidate, but I just want the nausea and reflux to go away permanently.

    Lap-Band Failure Rates

I am in a similar situation, I was banded 5 years ago. I did great year one and was down 50+lbs and felt great, that's when the acid reflux began. Over the coarse of the last 4 years, I have had 4 upper endoscopies , several barium swallows, most showing nothing but reflux until last year. I had an END, last September which showed many hemorrhagic ulcerations, aka bleeding ulcers. Since then it has been a battle, acid, then pain, nausea, then diarrhea. Ugh!!! I am now set for the next upper endoscopy, having constant reflux and stomach pain, I am begging for a revision to the sleeve. I am tired of constant pain and aggravation. Bad part can't gently in for endoscopy for 2 weeks. I hope all goes well for you all and pm me if you want to talk.

  12. I had to have a total unfil yesterday due to a piece of potroast being stuck. That was extremely painful. I had horrible pain in my back, unable to swallow anything. I had to go to the hospital and have all my fluid removed. I was wondering if anyone has had this happen, how did you do after the unfil? Were you able to get back into the normal fill level? I'm still waiting on my dr to call me back today....so we shall see what his plans are????????? Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.
  13. Yes that would be great! hope you are doing well!

  14. Thanks everyone for their input. I started my journey at 267, October 22,2008. I am 5'7". I now weigh 217. I am very proud of that. I had just hoped to be down 100lbs by october. I know I am moving along slowly. I had a stall for the last 2 months. I lost ounces and not lbs. I saw my dietician last week and she and think I am eating too many carbs. I am trying hard to get all my fiber in, because of constipation and that is often times too much carbs. I also have been drinking too much milk. I had only been walking up to this point. I am going to try jogging. I may be able to do that at this point. I think my fill last week helped alot. I now have 6.5 in a 10cc band. It is so hard to find the right balance to make the band work for me. I have been working hard for the band up until now. So hopefully things will go more smoothly now. Again thanks to everyone who gave their input. I greatly appreciate it.
