  1. Didn't have it before surgery. Was sleeved 10 days ago and I had gerd last night for the first time. Probably has to do with the sugar free popsicles I had a half hour before bedtime. Omeprozal works for me. -EQ
  2. It all depends upon your relationship with your co-workers. They WILL notice your weight loss. Do you want them to know you had surgery, suspect you had surgery, or, are really sick with some kind of cancer. -EQ
  3. Not to be scary here, but those are symptoms of a heart attack. http://www.heart.org/en/health-topics/heart-attack/warning-signs-of-a-heart-attack/heart-attack-symptoms-in-women -EQ
  4. Try to be mindful on what you're doing before the pain starts. I've found that if I sit a certain way I can cause the pain to start after a while. Also, try stretching your back when you have the pain to see if that alleviates it.
  5. Go to an orthopedic and get checked out for referred back pain. If you have compressed, bulged, or herniated discs, they vertebrae could be pinching the nerve and it feels like pain coming from the area of the body that nerve serves. I have sciatica on my right side and I have pain in my buttocks and down my right leg. They'll start off with a poke and prod test and likely take an xray of an area of your spine. -EQ
  6. Leah, If we look at the biology of pregnancy, we'll find a lot of weight gain is from evolution to help human mothers survive the stress. The baby weigh only a few pounds but the mothers weight goes up 3x the baby's weight. The mother builds up another half gallon or so of blood to help her not bleed out during birth, she'll hold more water to help keep nutrients flowing, growing and thickening uterus adds a couple pounds, breast tissue swells, etc. You're getting some things that will probably not go away quickly. Welcome to one of a thousand headaches of parenthood. Don't freak out. Kids are stressful enough. Eat healthy and as much as you need to stay sharp. At 3.5 weeks your hormones will still mess with your weight. Worry about losing the weight when you feel good. -EQ
  7. Everyone is different. I'm less than 36 hours out of surgery. Been home for six hours and had a 20 minute walk. Feel like I could eat a whole meal, but I know that's not possible. When I had my band back in 2009, I was wiped out for a week. Go figure... -EQ
  8. Had band revision to sleeve yesterday morning and 7:30. Went home today at 2:30. Would have been noon if the internist were in the building. Surprisingly, I've been starving all day. Anyone else experience this? -EQ
  9. Not sure what age has to do with it but asking is fine. Have fun.
  10. Isopure orange colored stuff. Just like Gatorade (taste, not texture).
  11. Without a common point of reference, it's impossible to understand what it's like six months on the other side of banding. Your eating habits and tastes will change. I haven't had a McD anything in 8 months and don't miss it a bit. Doesn't even smell good. I eat at least two cups of fruit per day and love it. I still find myself putting too much food my my dinner plate and tossing half of it. You'll get strange looks from your friends when you only order an appetizer at a restaurant and not be able to finish it because you're full. Noboby really understands it until they've lived with the band. Cal
  12. Let's see if I got this straight... Is someone acutally complaining that we have a bunch of rapidly slimming women with a burning desire to learn about anal sex? Sounds like a recurring fantasy of mine... :hurray: Cal
  13. Go for it. Just make sure you're ready for the any answer you might get.:bananalama:
  14. You want to ask the men on their forum why women have anal sex? Go for it. Probably won't get much of a response because those of us that know won't share and those that don't know are too embarrassed to ask.
  15. Yes, there is some sort of clitoral stimulation happening.
  16. I think there are two issues with anal for most women. One is between the ears and the other between the cheeks. You can't solve either of them in a single night no matter how much Jaegermeister and Astroglide are at hand. My wife was against anything back there when we first met but was willing to experiment to satisfy me. Started out with fingers, toys, licking etc and making sure she finished while I was playing. Over the course of months she got physically and emotionally comfortable to progress to anal sex. We've been together 28 years and anal play has been on the menu the entire time. When some gal's story starts out: "Well, I was drunk and my new BF asked me to bend over the sink and let him shove..." there are two potential endings. 1) ... it was the greatest experience ever. Found in Penthouse Forums and cheesey late night talk shows 2) ... it felt like a wolverine was trying to dig a new burrow for the winter. Heard from women going from anal virginity to total penetration in one session. YMMV...
  17. Daisy writes: So am I. :w00t: I believe if you think about simultaneous stimulation you'll connect the dots. Cal
  18. Fireman, I second Tapshoes comments A similar thing happened to my brother. He was totally unprepared and took the worst of it (lost the house and half of his inheritance). I'm not saying your situation is desparate or hopeless, but you've built the estate, you've worked your half of the relationship for a number of years. My suggestion is to find the sharpest divorce lawyer in your area and get his council. At least retain his services before your wife does. Hopefully everything resolves itself amicably. EQ
  19. Here's the analogy I have for restriction. It's like teenagers talking about sex and aren't sure if they've ever had an orgasm. Once you have it, you'll know. Take it slow and easy. It takes time to learn the foods you can tolerate.
  20. Y'all, Can someone help me pick out a tasteful and affordable giveadamn? Prior to surgery, he was my buddy and answered all questions. As long as the weight was coming off he was all smiles. Whenever I plateau, he's really not interested in fills or problems. I don't need anything fancy, just a good solid giveadamn in a mediuam or large would do fine. Cal
  21. I'd go with what the sheila said about kicking caffeine but also cut carbs. You don't need to go low carb for the diet but definitely up the Protein and reduce the carbs. Three helpful tips: 1) Learn to chew. If you can't chew everything to a pulp right now, get the dental work done prior to surgery. 2) Saliva is your friend. Since you won't be drinking with your meals and not eating slider food, saliva is all that's available to help the food particles pass through the band. 3) Sample as many forms of Protein drinks, powders, suppliments, bars, etc prior to surgery and find the ones you like/tolerate and stock up on those. There will be some that you can't stand and some that are quite good and it seems the preference is individualistic. Cal
  22. No catheter. I was walking about 6 hours after surgery. Walking is easy. Twisting and getting upright with the new incisions is what hurts. Went home the next day and walked around the park for an hour in 15 minute chunks. Walking is good. Plan for lots of it after surgery. It helps you get feeling normal again.
  23. I spoke with my surgeon about all the difficulties I had with scheduling and he admitted that it's somewhat purposeful. If the patient really needs to fight to get it done it shows that they're committed and it will be much less likely for someone to have buyer's remorse. Cal
