  4. So there is no gas pain after your surgery? Do they have to blow up your abdoman when doing the surgery? Is there a pre-op diet like before the band? How long till you go back to work?
  5. OK ... MY turn for a kick in the ass... Can youhelp me out??? LOL Not sure why, But my motivation is ZIP this past week. Not really caring what I eat. And eating until I puke, then eating some more... Have you ever done that? Man, i just dont get it. Maybe I'm more frustrated with my month long plateau than I realized?? Tell me how well you're doing! That should get me motivated again :-)

I am wondering what the "5-day Pounch Test" is? Whats the purpose of doing it?
  7. tj my wife and i are from regina too and were are getting banded at maples in wpg.

  8. Hey there Janet. I am doing ok. I had a bit of a rough go and now have been defilled and have only 1 CC. I was too tight and went through a period of about 2 months where I could eat and theni would just throw up, then get defilled, then get filled. Very ugly time. I go again on June 9th to Maples and will get a good check over and see where I'm at. I was down about 35 lbs but have gained about 14 back. It's awfull. I'm hungry all the time and just want to eat and eat and eat. I had forgotten that awfull overwhelming desire to gorge myself. I hate it!

I'm very glad to hear that you are doing so well. The excersie will sure help that too.

    Take care

  9. Hey TJ,

I am really some feedback here. I was badned Oct 24 and the only weight I have lost was on the pre-op. I had a fill Nov 25 and still havn't lost anything. As far as restriction, I really have to chew my food and eat slowly or it will get stuck. As far as hunger - I am still VERY hungry. I thought that the band was supposed to help this a bit and keep you fuller longer. I still need to eat every 2 hrs early in the day (from around 9 - 3pm). I was like this before too, always ate more earlier in the day. My concern is how much tighter do I need to be before any weight starts to come off? Also, I was not told to count calories and keep track of all my food intake. Am I missing a vital part of program here?
  11. Hi TJ, I'm In Edmonton!!! It's nice to hear fom another Canadian!!!...are you banded yet?

  12. Hi TJ ! Hope you're feeling well. My surgery went great also. no gas, no pain meds, no problems ... had my first post-op visit today and i'm down 13 lbs ! Way cool !! how are you doing ? any pain or anything ????

    Just gotta ask, BM?

At the risk of giving too much information - I used a fleet or enehma. Yes - it may a little embarassing to have it given to you. But it does work on a one time basis. I used it day 5 after my surgery just to get things going, without any straining.
  14. Apart from the protein you be taking in a minimum of 1200 calories. If you go below that for any period of time (which you would have while on the pre-op plan) your body will go into starvation mode. Meaning that your body will start to hold on to every calorie to take in. So you will need to increase it. Even if it means drinking 3 instant breakfasts with a scoops of protein powder in every day for awhile. If you dont get enough protein, then could put yourself at risk for hair loss and brittle nails.
  15. Hey Bobbie! How are you doing after yur surgery? Hope everything went well for you. Mine went just fine. Feeling rather gasey now but I have to keep reminding myself not to eat as much as I can. This is truely a learning process and the just the beginning.
