  4. Hello Surgery friends! Just a quick update... I will be 2 months Post op on January 8th and I am down to 336. I weighed 375 the morning of surgery and 408 on October 24th. I am starting to feel like I haven't lost enough weight since surgery? Only 39 pounds in 2 months doesn't seem like a lot. I have stuck with our dieticians plan to a t just not seeing the weight loss I expected.

  8. Just checking in... I am currrently also in my 3 week stall since Monday. Surgery was 11-8. I have lost around 25 pounds to this point since surgery. Just trying to keep my head up and focus on protein first and liquids!

  11. As the title says.... Do/have any of you used the herbalife shake powders? If so did your dietician say they were ok? My wife and I are 10 days post op and cant stand all the premade protein shakes we bought but we have been able to get the herbalife ones to go down very smoothly and are getting the amount of protein we need.

  14. Day 4 post op. All pain is mostly non existent. There is a tenderness to the right side of my body ( from the bigger incision). A little bit of gas throughout the day and still no bowel movement. Have got 40 grams of protein so far and 48 oz of water
  15. Much better today. It’s crazy how every person is so different. My nausea has been absolutely terrible and my wife’s has been non existent. Pain wise I would say 80% of the gas pains are gone now just a little sore around the bigger incision still. how are you feeling?
  16. End of Day 2 post op update drank 40 grams of protein in total today, sitting at 42 ounces of water. Feeling icky still with lots of gas in my esophagus it feels like
  17. 3 days post op. Pain is mostly gone just soreness around my incision sights especially the big one they remove the stomach through. Keeping liquids down pretty well I have 12 ounces down since 9 o’clock and it’s 11 here so that’s good. Also have had 2 4oz protein shakes on top of that. A word of advice…. Make sure you advocate for yourself to get the nausea patch behind your ear and good pain meds if you need them. My pain was almost unbearable day 1 and had nausea like crazy, dry heaving every hour it felt like. Meanwhile my wife had the nausea patch and morphine and was sleeping like nothing even happened.
  18. Does anyone remember how much water they could drink the first two days? I think part of my dry heaving may be from taking to big of a sip of water but I’m taking little enough ones they are barely getting my lips wet.
  19. She used the glue on the outside of the incisions. Also walked my self into a dry heaving fit but the only time I’m in less pain is when I’m walking
  20. I asked for Gasx but to no avail. My wife hasn’t had the gas pains to bad today I guess they just put all her gas into me!! I will ask for something stronger than Tylenol if it will help. They told me gas pains can’t really be surpressed by narcotics. Not sure how true that is!
  21. Got out of surgery at 10 am. Have been in terrible gas pain. I have walked and walked and they will only give me Tylenol for it. How long did your guys gas pain last? Maybe tomorrow morning it won’t be as bad??
  22. If you meet the requirements along with a 6 month documented diet through your surgery center Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield approved mine the very first time it was submitted. they just don’t approve the vitamins for some reason!! ?
  23. Nope just no protein drinks after 11 PM Sunday night and only water up to 4 hours prior to surgery start. Good luck to you as well!
  24. Monday is the day!!! We made it through the 2 week full liquid pre op diet and are both very anxious about Monday. Mine is at 1145 and my wife’s is at 145. Hoping for a good and speedy recovery!
  25. This could be a silly question but where do you get your miso soup at?
