  1. I have a friend that sounds very much like your friend... I knew it would happen so i just didn't even tell her that i was having the surgery. I don't know why some people are that way but i do use it to my advantage when i need a good challange i think of those negative coments and push myself farther to prove her wrong.

WOW 61 lbs is amazing... I'm 8 months in and only 41 lbs... what are you eating??? lol I need to do it too!
  3. Hello everyone will be a little different... but i have had 5 fills now... up to 8 cc in a 10 cc band... and i went crazy today and ate 5 pieces of pizza for lunch... no trouble at all. I am not very happy with myself or the band... but somehow i have still managed to loose 41 lbs... so it has to be doing something.
  4. i know how you feel.
  5. i lost a whopping 1-3 lbs a month so far... i expected more too...
  6. I am definately struggling with the whole diet thing... i haven't noticed all that much help from the band (other than i do eat a bit less since the last fill) but i still get very hungry every few hrs. and i have very little will power and a food addiction so i keep thinking of what can i eat even when i am full... has anyone had any good diets to follow? any low cal recepies that help with cravings and such?
  7. i did happen to get a bladder infection the same time i had surgury and had trouble going to the bathroom. i did have some pain getting up and down because my muscle was sore but nothing else was a problem.

i have a copay of $100 a fill and my ins pays another $100 ( I thought this was bad)
  9. Yeah i tried regular food today expecting... hoping to be back to restriced but if i am it is not much i ate two taco's for lunch no problem. so now i also wonder if i will go several more fills before i feel anything.
  10. yeah i was wondering about that. lol. i talked it over with my dr and she said that some people have no middle ground its really an all or nothing. She did give me another 1/2 cc so i am back to 8 CC and have not had any trouble this time at all. Today is the first day on solids but i can already do things i couldn't last time i was at 8 cc like eat cereal with no pain. so looks like it has shifted or something.
  11. It is very possitble i had 4 fills that were 1 cc each before i felt anything. If i didn't feel the band tightening when they added the saline i would have sworn there was nothing in there.
  12. my only problem with fills is that the spot where the port is, is very tender. At first it was visibly bruised so i expected it to hurt but it still does when the dr pushes on it. does anyone else have tenderness when the dr is looking for the port? Probibly depends on the amount of stuff between the port and the outside i supose and how hard they have to push.
  13. I am so glad i am not the only one!!! I am at 7.5 CC and can eat whatever i want. I too was very worried but i did get up to 8 cc and that was way to much so i had some taken out... aparently way to much taken out. Going for a fill tomorrow but my weight loss is not moving.
  14. I am currently at 7.5 CC and i have no restriction. I had a bad day Wednesday and ate three whole pieces of pizza and a breadstick before i felt comfortably full. I hope my band has not slipped. I did have 8 cc but that seemd to tight and everything i ate or drank made me feel like i had swallowed an icecube. Has anyone else felt this way? I was hoping it would go away but I had it for 6 weeks before i had some taken out. Now i have nothing again. Have a fill scheduled for tomorrow though.
  15. I was really sore for 7 days and then i felt completely normal. because of the port it hurts to get up and down and since you automatically protect that area with your back muscles, they get really sore. I felt like i had been hit in the back more than the front had anything done to it. good luck :biggrin2:
  16. well last time i had the fill i kept it for over 6 weeks and it never went away. Now a part of me is thinking it was finally tight but not tight enough... that things were forcing themselves through and that maybe it if was just a little tighter they would sit in the smaller pouch for a longer amount of time and not hurt. Maybe this is crazy. lol
  17. Hello, I got banded Nov 30th, 2007 and since then i have lost 36 lbs. 15 on my pre op diet and then 10 the first month and then a very slow 2 to 3 lbs a month since. i hardly notice i have a band in dispite having 3 or 4 large fills ( I can't remember exactly) I can eat anything and sometime i still do. for example yesterday i ate like 3 peices of Pizza for lunch. I don't think this is normal. Last time I had a fill the Dr. added 1 cc and i think it was suddenly to tight and had 1/2 cc taken back out and then i went back to eating with no restriction. I am thinking I overreacted to maybe a normal fill restriction? the problem was every bite i took, no matter how soft or hard, hurt. It felt like i had swollowed an icecube and it was forcing its way down. has anyone else felt this way? is it normal? should i get it filled somemore? I made an apt for tomorrow and now i am nervous. I really want to loose but there has to be a middle ground dosn't there? someone please give me some hope. lol thanks
  18. I also get the sholder pain. When i eat to much.. or drink to much and sometimes just randomly. I asked my Dr. and she said it just happens that sometimes it goes away after several months.
