Yup, slow loser right here too or at least I do count myself one.
    210 surgery date weight
    1st month - 18 pounds
    2nd month - 10 pounds
    3rd month (Feb) - 7.6 pounds
    4th month - about 12 pounds
And in my 5th month now: Half way through and only have lost about 3 pounds 😂 (I have stalled for more than a week now). Let's see how this month ends.
So yeh, more or less I do think I am slow loser with stalls here and there. And yes it does get to you but seeing many others talk about it, I am being hopeful that I'll eventually get there.

Thank you so much for sharing! I am 44 not quite 50 but it’s right around the corner. I used to lose fast as well in my 20’s & 30’s and part of mind was hoping that my body would reward me like that again….lol
Good Luck to you and your continued successes. Even the lows it’s all a learning experience I’m quickly realizing.

Ok, so excited. You tend not to "be noticed" at my age. In the last week, several compliments from the opposite sex. Great mood boost!

Slow loser here too. But the weight does continue to come off. My surgery was on 01/11, and so far, I've lost 34 lbs. Back when I was 50, I lost 50 pounds, but it took me 2 YEARS for that! LOL at my age, I don't have the time left! My doctor wanted me to walk more, and I just giggled--it's all I can do to work 40 hours a week at a desk job, much less exercise. If you are young, you have no idea. I think he wanted me to because the weight loss is so slow. Well, the fact that the scale continues to move down is GREAT for me. I'm not hungry-I still have nausea, but I think I have found the way out of that. So not hungry--none of that "oh God, I can't think of anything else but the Cookies in the break room" stuff. 34 lbs in 3 months is wonderful for me!

LOL at my age-69-I tend to get the worried look and "Are you doing all right?" Being Southern by birth and the grace of God, imagine that sentence with our Southern drawl... "Honey, you look like you goin' dry up and blow away! Are you feelin' all riight?"

Wow, so many reasons that you shouldn't. I haven't, 12 weeks post op. First, you don't know how your new tummy will react. Do you really want to have a dumping "event," or be sick as a dog? I have heard that liquor has a greater effect after, so you could end up face first in the punch bowl-God forbid all three. I wouldn't. If they know about your surgery, and they are your friends, they will be supportive. Also, social pressure should not figure into this. Just saying.

LOL that would be great. I mean, I'm already at the point where I don't even think it tastes that great anymore. Maybe I can just go with the flow and let it drop off naturally. Thank you! ❤️

I got a new one: not feeling that sense of dread stepping on the scale, which i realized this morning.
I have been remiss on my daily weigh-ins lately and each time i get on after a bit of a sabbatical, the number has been pretty much the same as its always been.
    Yay!

I bought some of these, but they're not really "thick" enough for the amount of weight I've lost from my fingers. I might have to try something else. Not quite ready to re-size.

I've dug out a bunch of old jeans... some of which I've shrunk through the sizes already. Bought a pair of work pants out of necessity... BTW, the slim fit calf BS is never going to work for my legs no matter how much weight I lose.
Nice thing is that I have a row of nearly new dress shirts in the closet waiting for the next 15 to drop off.
Funny one... I went to put on a hat and had to adjust the size down, lol my head is getting smaller too!

I had almost exactly the same experience yesterday—I went to go buy a decent set of clothes (better than the ranch wear I'm normally in) and went for a sport coat, dress shirt, and decent non-denim trousers. I ended up in the "athletic fit" trousers and the "slim fit" shirt... my neck went from 22 with a collar spreader to 17.5, my jacket size from a 58/60 to a 48. It was bizarre to go try on trousers, need a smaller size, and then realize they didn't have any in stock, not because it was at the upper end of the range, but because it was the most common size.

After losing nearly 100 pounds and slowing down the weight loss I felt it was time to purchase a suit just in case the need arises where I need one. The Salesperson took me over to the "modern fit" area and tried on a jacket. He then took that off and brought me over to the "slim fit" area and tried on jackets there. The slim fit fit me perfectly. I went from a 52 Regular, Executive Fit to a 42 short, Slim fit. And the pants went from a 50 waist to a 36 waist. When I was checking out he saw I had purchased a suit about 18 months ago and asked who I bought those suits for since they were so large...it felt really good to answer him that I lost the weight but even better feeling to be in a slim fitting suit.

I used to go through the fast food drive thru, til I had my surgery-whoops, no point if everything is going to hurt me! BUT my going there was (in my head) was a "reward" for getting through a stressful day at work. It helped me to take a cup of ice Water out of work with me to sip on. Until you have to go on the all liquid diet, bring one cookie from home, leave it wrapped up in your car, and between that and the water--may just help...

oldandtired got a reaction from lizonaplane in 3 weeks post op and struggling with nausea
Hi--that was me. I am still struggling. Doc had said that the longest he had seen anyone was 7 months. So I am trying different things, with little regard for the doc.
(ATTENTION-I am trying different things--DON'T do what I do, JUST because I say it!!) That said-- the doc has me on 4 mg ondansetron once a day, the melt in your mouth pill. Nasty, but better for me than the patch. I have taken it twice a day, as the internet says you can without poisoning yourself. He added Promethazine 25 mg twice a day (same stuff as Phenergan) first as a suppository 🙄, and when I said nope nope, he gave me a pill. Ok-when I looked it up, surprise-it can be taken every 4 to 6 hours. Now because I do not REALLY want to poison myself ( I promise) the internet mentioned 12.5 mg dosage (or breaking one in half.) Now that really seems to help. Often a doc will give you the lowest possible dose, and you will suffer, until you get through the myriad layers of contacts before you can notify your doc that "this ain't working."
Another thing-I seem to be swallowing air-without a straw, with a straw, small sip, whatever... So burping seems to help. Little burps, but burps. (Takes the pressure off--maybe?) I haven't found a 100% answer yet. But I do know this: there are a ton of anti-nausea meds out there. One ought to do it--if not, I am going to make the doc so tired of hearing from me, he will buckle down and see about me. He might want to get you in there to scope you...I anticipate this myself, if we can't come to some sort of agreement/answer. I still can't drink Protein Drinks. Doc says it is the same hormones that cause "morning sickness," (with a smile) which I am rapidly beginning to find that answer condescending.
Like I said--I am not a doctor, don't do what I have done, just because I said I did it. I am telling MY journey.

11weeks post-op, and although I have nausea on and off all day, and am on 2 different nausea meds, I would not do any different. I am not losing as quickly as some, but (one) I have always had a hard time losing, and (two) if I feel like eating, it's better than the nausea. (Eating usually does not cause the nausea-when I do misbehave, I own up to it, lol) I've lost 30 pounds in those 11 weeks, and that's fine with me.. 25 years ago, it took me two YEARS to lose fifty. (Then a family member got sick, and the diet went out the window.) My doc says the nausea has to do with hormonal changes and most people are over it by now, but as long as he tells me it is not a lifetime thing, I can deal with it. Do it again? You betcha!

You know, it's so strange how the docs vary so wildly on what and when to eat certain foods. My doc says no salads till 6 months out. So naturally I crave them.
