That’s what the surgeon is there for and he needs to be aware of your feelings as there needs to be more support PreOp and an explanation. I was able to choose what I was having PreOp and I wasn’t even told to have shakes I chose to. Speak to your surgeon

@brightly @Shop Girl I agree - my surgeon said I could have MyProtein shakes etc my Dietitian said no. I messaged her with the comparisons of everything and she said it’s fine. My surgeon said I’ve obviously done my research and asked questions which was his guidance so he knows I’m not going to go off track….. my PreOp was high protein low carbs low fat and my post off was clear liquids and then full liquids which I’ve struggled with and to get the fluids in. Yes everyone has a different experience but speak to your surgeon as they will know what’s best and they ultimately know more and are more supportive

My post Op is just soups and liquids. I’m finding the shakes sweeter than before and yesterday I struggled to drink 200ml and only drank 150ml. Soups I’m okay with but again struggling with flavours etc

My PreOp was food - high protein low carbs. I wouldn’t worry as the whole process is to shrink and soften your liver. Mention to your doctor or say nothing. A friend who did Bariatric said she didn’t stick to hers and it still happened. I had a chicken burger and french fries with a soft drink a couple of days before my surgery and my liver had shrunk and there were no complications and my dr said they didn’t need the tool to lift they could use a stitch xx hope this helps

Thank you ❤️ Tomorrow I’m moving onto the protein drinks so hopefully will be able to get fluids in. I did find PreSurgery drinking the protein water sachets but using more water helped.

Spoke to my dietitian - she has said which ones to avoid and why and that they all seem to be similar etc so should be okay. As everything will be exported and with a recent announcement of buying local Ive got to either buy through Amazon or use a company registered within the country.

Yeah I’ve thought about that. I actually messaged my Dietitian a couple of days ago and she asked me to send the details of different powders . She has said which ones I can have etc but also said once I move through stages making my own food is better. issue for me is - delivery from overseas and things exported in are overly priced ??? like one box of powders is almost $55 I am going to get sample sizes ready xx
