it's the infamous three-week stall. You just got it a little early. Almost everyone experiences that - if you do a search for it on this site, you'll find over 17,000 posts on it (and no, I am NOT kidding...). Mine was weeks 2 and 3. During week 4, it broke and I dropped something like 6-8 lbs in about two days. Just stick to your program and stay off the scale for a few days if you need to. It WILL break - they always do - and then you'll be on your way again.

    Twins!
I have not weighed myself except at my two week follow up where I was down 8 pounds.
Most things I’ve tried have been fine, I track what I eat and how I feel and my habits (64oz+ Water, walking for 30 min, vegetable juice, and vitamins). When I hit all 4, I draw balloons in my journal

I totally agree !!!! and I am doing the same. But for my husband, daughter, and surgeon, no one knows. I usually tell no one anything because I come from a BIG, loving, judgemental with loving intentions family, and I didn't want to hear it. I had lap band and I lost 30 lbs. I had to work hard to keep it off as it was no easy ride for me. 10 to 15 miles of biking daily, yoga, weights everything. And then, due to some health issues and COVID, all of the exercising had to stop, and I literally gained 45 lbs on top of the already 15 lbs I had to lose. I looked like another person. and my family was polite but people were shocked and I could tell in their faces. I did this with no hesitation when I realized I could not control what was happening.
Today, 6 days post-op and I felt like a million dollars. the swelling in my belly has gone down significantly, I was able to walk everywhere with my husband in the beautiful Florida sunshine. I am so happy today. Still on liquids but I am okay. No pain, discomfort, just itchy incisions that I purchased Vitamin e for, and it stopped. Tomorrow I will weigh myself as it will officially be one week.

So tomorrow will be one week already since I was sleeved and I am ok. I am not mad or regretful. I just feel weird and anxious to see my weight drop.
I can say that I have not had any nausea since day one and no unbearable pain.
It's a weird feeling to feel everything going down and into your stomach.
My sleep situation is getting better because it was hard to get comfy at night.
I did chew some chipotle and spit it out cause I was scared to swallow it but I just wanted to satisfy the craving....the craving....I still have some cravings but it's for the sake of chewing and not actually eating the food if that makes sense. I will be talking to my doctor to let him know about this at my follow up.
My main focus is on hydration and walking at least 15 minutes 2x's per day and increasing it as I can handle it.
I also am trying to practice slowing down when I eat or drink. Easier said than done.
It's hard coming from such a high weight and bad habits to just turn it off.
    Mind over matter folks.

I have never regretted my Lapband, even with some of the bad issues that went with it and I don't regret my recent revision to a sleeve. To be unburdened from a fixation with food, surrendering the concept of food as a comfort, and finally loving my body has been an amazing thing for me.
  10. Congrats!

First, there are people that have regretted having surgery. Generally they aren't on sites like this.
Second, all those bad things that you've read about in the past are still out there. Put them in perspective right next to all the negative effects of not doing anything. Choose wisely.
Third, saying goodbye to your favorite foods forever largely depends on your surgery type. Even then, none of the foods you mention are goodbye forever foods in reality.
In the last month I've eaten McD's. Red meat is in my normal rotation, you can pry my hamburger out of my greasy, dead hands. I've had Peanut Butter cups, though not much and not often as I've had RNY and I dump on sugar. In point of fact there is no food or drink that I cannot eat if I choose. I generally stick to my plan, so the worse the food/drink is health-wise the less often I eat/drink a little of it. All things in moderation, including moderation.
Your Doctors work for you. If your Doc is not doing what you need, then you need a new Doc.
You can succeed at this with the proper mind set. It is a big change for most of us. For the better, generally.
    Good luck,
    Tek

@Tealael Great idea!! Since I have not had my surgery yet I am going to start taking pics of what and how much I am eating now so that when I have a stall I can look back on how much I used to eat versus post-op, that way I won't be so hard on myself. You're the best!!

Like weight loss before and after photos but of your new diet !
I'm especially interested in before and after meal photos (take a pic at the point you feel restriction) but it can be of recipe substitutions, your refrigerator/pantry/shopping cart/etc

TSH1222 got a reaction from Cherylanne22 in April surgeries
I have surgery on April 26th at 8 am. But I have a story to tell. I had the lap band back in 2013. It was successful and I lost 30 lbs. I had to really exercise to keep my weight in check but I looked and felt great. Then, unfortunately, I had serious complications and I had to take it out the band last year during COVID. I had been thin for so long that I felt very in control. I was exercising as a lifestyle and not to lose weight. I truly enjoyed it. Then in one year, I gained 45 lbs because I was having other health issues that prevented me from exercising my normal routine. The doctor said it was perimenopause, it was the steroids I took, etc... I was so down I cannot even begin to tell you. Then I became a bit depressed and literally hid from the world and gained yet another 15 lbs. I did not understand what i was doing wrong. I did everything to lose weight. Jenny Craig, street rider bicycle, Noom, you name it I tried it and nothing. Every time I stepped on the scale I went up. so awful.
I have decided to do this with the clear understanding that i have to work at it again to stay slim. You really have to put in the leg work. This is a great tool and I pray I lose the now 60 lbs I have to lose. I will try my hardest but diet is everything and I am reaching menopause which will only make it even harder.
So here I am looking for support and enjoying hearing other people's success stories.
