  3. 3 years has passed since you registered at LapBandTalk! Happy 3rd Anniversary LoriEmbree!

  4. Hi there, I was banded on October 30th, and had complications - the tubing (to the port) snapped in TWO (can you believe it?). Well a week later I went in for emergency surgery - they fixed the tubing, and now I feel great. Except for one problem. During the week that I was in pain (between the two surgeries), I couldn't eat or drink much of anything. They had to put bags and bags of IV's in me to get me hydrated. Well going without food for so long was so tough! Now that I feel great, and I've been eating again, that's ALL I'M DOING! There's no saline in my band, so I'm eating normal foods. I'm not completely "off the wagon," (I've been trying really hard to eat healthy, etc), but I am eating portions like before my liver shrinking diet. This is why I got the band in the first place! To curb my hunger. I lost 25 lbs beforehand, and it's all coming back because my band isn't filled yet. I don't get my first fill until the 3rd of December, and I highly doubt they will give me enough to really make a difference. I'm getting very discouraged. This is why I got the band in the first place, and I'm just getting down on myself for eating too much. It's a wicked cycle. Anyone else out there going through the same things? Any advice? (besides just "hang in there, eat healthy, smaller portions, blah blah blah - I KNOW ALL THAT SADLY). Will it get better? Will the weight come off again?
  5. I am hoping also that the band will "shock" my system enough to put some of the fibro symptoms on hold. Good luck!

    Any October Bandsters!??!?!

Hi there! My surgery date is scheduled for October 30, the day before Halloween! Halloween is a BIG DEAL in our family, so since I have to opt out of this year's festivities, I think I will be going as a SKINNY WOMAN next year! :-)

    Scared out of my mind!

I'm scared because I really don't know if I can do this. I hear stories of people getting all active and whatever, and I honestly cannot envision me being one of those people. I'm scared because there will be something inside of me for the rest of my life, and that freaks me out a bit. I haven't had any kind of surgery, so the surgery itself scares me. Just everything about it!

    New to LapBandTalk!

You grew up in St. Anthony? Where? Tell me details, maybe we know each other, or know some of the same people! Your slide show is amazing! I can't even imagine. I had to realize that I am truly addicted to food. How am I going to do this!?

    Scared out of my mind!

I would love to have a LB Buddy. I'm scared out of my mind. :tongue_smilie:
  10. Ok, so I'm new to LapBandTalk. I live in Idaho, and I am planning on having lapband surgery sometime in September. I've finished all the requirements, and I am now waiting on the insurance company to do their thing. What was the HARDEST thing for you about the surgery? (before, during, after, etc?) I'm really nervous, and I have about talked myself out of it a million times. I guess I need people to tell me it's worth it and why! :tongue_smilie:
