  1. I have been keeping track from the day of my first appt. and I find it to help soooo much! I use fitday.com It keeps track of your commonly eaten foods and allows you to adjust the portions---ie .33 tablespoons of evoo. I love it, and know that I will absolutely have to maintain this habit. Write it down people!!!!
  2. Thank you so much for your kind words. I've calmed down a bit. Now I want to focus on getting my house ready for resting. 15 days and counting. ahhhhhhhhh
  3. I received my date today! I'm still in shock. A very weird happy/freaking out place. I am sooo excited, but there is apart of me that is scared to death. I'm a bouncing emotional weirdo!! I had to share! Here's to a new Megan!!
  4. That is such a great accomplishment!! Hugging one's knees, what a wonderful thing! You're an inspiration!!
  5. Hi. I had my consult on Tuesday. I asked about the actual day of surgery--even though I don't have one yet (darn insurance!!). What to bring, what not to wear?? Expected hospital stay, where in the hospital I would be, who was going to be there in the operating room?? We also chatted about my pre-op diet. She gave me a list of things I am allowed to eat/drink for the next month. Don't feel pressured to ask questions you don't have. I found that I am very confident about most of the procedural elements, and therefore did not have too many questions regarding them. Best Wishes!!
  6. Jenny--Hi. It sounds like we are on the same schedule. I just had my consult yesterday and am now waiting for the insurance thumbs up. I've just started my pre-op diet (yea protein shakes) and hope have surgery in late July as well. I'm 26 and live on the west coast. I would be happy to chat with you all the time, anytime!!
  7. Amazing!! You all are wonderful. I went to GNC after work today. After a huge pep talk in my car, I walked right in and asked for help. I was bummed that they didn't have samples, so I sucked it up and got a small package. The basic GNC brand Whey powder in vanilla. i then hopped over to WinCo and grabbed some decaf instant coffee--just in case I needed some variety. I am happy to report that I just finished my first Protein shake---and it didn't suck!! YEA Here's to many many many more. Hahahhhaaahahaa
  8. Has anyone had luck nabbing samples anywhere???
