April 7th! I just found out two days ago. Starting my liquids diet today.

I think the best way to look at it is for a couple weeks at least after surgery your life WILL mostly revolve around your surgery and the fact that you’ve had surgery (getting in your meds, Protein, fluids, etc). You will be inconvenienced for a short while but that won’t last forever and it will be worth it in the long run. Each day it gets a little easier and you figure it out as you go. The important thing for me was to know that worst case even if I had to spend all day taking my meds it WAS possible to get them down...somehow.

I am experiencing the “three week stall” right now. Rest assured though, you can’t eat what we are eating and not lose weight. I think our bodies just fight it cause they literally Think we are trying to die.

I was March 9th and I am down 10 pounds from surgery 25 total. I am doing great though. No pain and not a lot of hunger at all. Some when I’m board but I just ask myself why am I hungry and it’s usually just boredom. I am hoping that this summer in south Florida will not be as dreadful as I will be losing weight as it gets hotter and hotter. Ooh and mine stays the same for days too so I shouldn’t weigh everyday but when I wake up I always check anyhow. Lol

Just take it one step/stage at a time. Remind yourself you can do anything for a few days and break it up that way. I have severe anxiety and don’t do well with change either but had surgery the 9th and am currently on the purée stage. (It’s two weeks so I broke it up myself by saying I will have the eggs after one week just to have something to look forward to. You CAN do this. If I can do it, you can 🤗 keep up talking about your feelings on here too. There is a great group of people here full of support that will get you through.

Low sodium, turkey lunch meat should be ok. Maybe you can ask them to slice it thin or shave it.

I’m so jealous. Have one tiny bite for me (haha). I can’t wait until I can have that and an egg. 1.5 more weeks of liquids.

I had my bday the day before pre op diet started and I celebrated early so I didn’t have to go from restaurant food to liver shrinking diet overnight. I guess you have to skip the big meal alltogether this year. It will be well worth it though. Best gift you could ever give yourself. Happy Borthday. 🥳

Hi Everyone! New to the forum. Decided after years of being overweight and uncomfortable in my own body, to finally take care of me. Have had all my pre-op testing. Passed everything with no issues. Hoping to hear from pre-op coordinator on my surgery consult date next week. Would love to get surgery scheduled by the end of April!
Ready for a better, healthier version of me! 😊

I talked to my gynecologist about this surgery and he said he has known sooooo many women to have it and even those who have experienced complications still are glad they went through with the surgery. It would be interesting to know if that’s the same case with the community here.

Does anyone else feel ignored or isolated from people who don’t want to accept your choice to have WLS or don’t want to take the time to understand your reasonings? Do people feel ignored on here as well sometimes?

I am only three days post op so I will not be posting anything today but what a fun topic to add. You ladies all look amazing. Congratulations on your success.
