  1. Wow. You have been through so much. I am so happy for you. Your smile shows how proud you are of yourself as you should be!! Congratulations.
  2. Congratulations. I think it’s pretty normal to be at least a little nervous.
  3. I don’t think it has anything to do with surgery but since I have had to get up super early for all these tests I have wacked out my sleep schedule and like a baby I have my days and nights mixed up. I tried to fight it by staying awake and I only slept for 3 hours two nights in a row then last night I fell asleep early but I forgot to set alarm and I slept for 16 hours. My friend suggested that I try melatonin and I just bought some but when I asked the pharmacists about taking it with my other meds she said to start with the lowest dose because some research suggests that it may wack out the way your body naturally produces it. Has anyone used this as a temporary thing to just get back on track or does it cause even more issues.
  4. I am wanting to order my vitamins and pro care health has one that is sadi specific with extra stuff in it. (I am pending Revision to SADI) I am just curious if anyone has tried this and wondering first if it goes down okay And also how are your labs going.
  5. Some of you may already know that I am 3.5 years post sleeve and have been pending a revision surgery for a while now. I have spent the past several months doing research and several tests to decide which surgery will be most appropriate for me and we have finally decided to go through with the SADI surgery and I have a date in early August. I am a bundle of emotions. I am a great deal more nervous this time around. I think it’s partially because this is a riskier procedure witb more serious side effects but I think it’s also because I am taking this a lot more seriously this time. I am really afraid of failure. I feel like I already failed once so what if I go through all of this only to not lose or lose and gain it all back again like last time. The surgeon said that the sleeve is a good fit for a lot of people but obesity is really complex and some just need a more aggressive surgery with greater metabolic change to be successful. He said his patients have had good results with the SADI-S and the sleeve to SADI revision. So i am also really hopeful and excited that it will be different for me this time. I don’t think I have totally wrapped my mind around it yet though because I am not counting down the days and wanting it to get here sooner like I was last time. I’m kinda glad to have a few weeks to get there mentally.
  6. I am still pending my revision. My dr ordered a few tests to help him decide between the Sadi and the bypass as a revision and the SADI. I see him on Monday and hopefully I will have some answers.
  7. You may not want to stock up on too many. People’s tastes often change post surgery. Especially for sweet stuff. If you find some you like they may have most likely are for sale on Amazon and you can get them in a couple of days.
  8. Amazing progress. Both of you!! Keep it up.
  9. I am definitely not an expert when it comes to bruises but I know they do change colors. I Just don’t remember if they get darker or larger or what. I can definitely see a difference though. I would personally call my Dr and ask if you can just email them the pictures explaining how it feels as well. I am in the save myself the mental anguish camp. You are paying them after all.
  10. There are so many factors that play a role in the ideal rate of loss for an individual I would ask your team this question since they have all the information about you and your history.
  11. I haven’t heard about colace specifically but I have heard of MANY people on here having to take a capful or whatever of laxatives daily for life post surgery. Haven’t heard of any issues. I assume your dr would be up to date on any issues since it seems to be a common thing.
  12. Congratulations. I am so happy for you.
  13. I think I’m going to try not having breakfast like @ms.sss and @Spinoza. I didn’t eat breakfast pre surgery but the NP emphasized how important it was to eat earlier in the day and the dietician said that’s why I’m more hungry later on. I always felt like that just made me eat more in a day but I listened to my team. I know that alone isn’t what made me gain all my weight but it is still calories. I just have to get used to taking my multi vitamin with another meal. Someday I will figure out what works for me. ?
  14. I actually think maybe it’s because that test is more commonly done to diagnose delayed gastric emptying the more I read about it. So im sure mine was fast compared to people with that issue. I just wanted to think the tech was on to something and it was a possible answer to my struggle with weight and it would hopefully be an easier fix.
  15. Thanks. The more I read I think it’s pretty normal too. The tech said it was the fastest he had ever seen. I Guess that’s why the techs aren’t really supposed to tell you anything.
  16. So I had the sleeve three years ago and gained my weight back. I am pending revision and the dr did an endoscopy and found a hiatal hernia and some gerd. He then ordered a UGI and a gastric emptying study to get some more information to decide which surgery is most appropriate. I just finished the gastric emptying study and after only two hours the food was completely out of my stomach which may explain why I always feel hungry a couple hours after I eat. I am hoping maybe there is a treatment to slow down my stomach emptying and I won’t even need surgery or if I do it will be more successful this time. I see the dr in a week and I’m sure he will have an answer but I’m just curious if this is truly faster than normal and if anyone else has had this issue.
  17. I had the sleeve three years ago and I have had the stomach flu and don’t recall it lasting more than 24 hours. I know that the stomach size is the same as the Sadi? I think I would go to the Dr if it hasn’t gone away. At least you will know for the future if it does just take a little longer like you mentioned.
  18. Congratulations.
  19. That is something that’s still in the back of my mind. I have heard mixed things about them though. I plan to speak with the surgeon about them before I make my final decision.
  20. Good luck with it. My dr decided I need to have a scope on Friday to make certain that SADI is most appropriate for me.
  21. I have absolutely no relevant experience or advice but want to say I’m sorry you are going through all this and I hope you get some answers really soon.
