  1. hi i was the same was scared to death the hardest part was the waiting in the room to go to surgery i was real nervous and scared didnt want my son to see that thou so i had to put up a good front. but my husband knew. anyway i had a burning sensation at the top of my stomach and just a little gas, and thats all. everyone is different with the pain but being informed is the best thing to get over your fear i m not saying you want be scared but you will know what to expect. and that takes some of the fear away. it did for me. just know that you are not alone in this, we are here to support you. i was banded on july 1 and have lost 18lbs so far. tammy
  2. hi i was banded on 7/1/09 and feel the same way, ive lost 11lbs . ask my dietian about it she said i wasnt getting enough calories in about 600 she said shot for 800 to 1000 and i hope it starts moving. but this is healing time. tammy
  3. hi my names tammy i felt the same way, really scared of it all i have been banded a little over three weeks now. have lost 11lbs. my advise is to research, research, that way you will know what you are going in to. and keep in mind everyone is different. i researched over a year. and the most of the people had pain for about a week, and the gas too. but as for me i had 1 pain and hardly any gas, and the liquid diet , i didnt feel hungry, and im on soft foods now not really hungry . my head wants a big juicy hamburger though. i check this web site daily, there is no better advise then from the ones who already have the band. i chose to have wls because of the pain of arthritis in my knees, and ankles and i know if i dont loose the weight i will be in a wheel chair. i always had in the back of my mind i can always back out. but when i was there i told myself i can live this way the rest of my life or i can make a change. research is the key thing.
  4. hi everybody just one question, has anyone ever lost weight with the band with little execerise, i have arthritis in both knees, and ankles, just went back to work on the 20th. and im in alot of pain. doc took away my arthritis meds, (my lapband surgeon said i could have them if they were small enough) but my doc said no. so ive been taking tylenol and lortabs for the pain and sometimes that doesnt help. im miserable just walking around . thats the reason for the band to lose the weight so i can walk without so much pain. so has anyone lost with not much exercise. thanks tammy
  5. not having my feet hurt the minute i get up, not having my knees hurt so back just to walk not having people make comments that hurt being able to wear the pretty clothes instead of settling for what i can wear. having it look good when i do wear it theres more just not enough time. tammy
  6. hi yes ive tried them i found fruit punch at wal mart with 26 grams of protein and at gnc i found lemon lime. with 45grams of protein, they are kinda thick, they are ok. and today i took a bottle of water put the protein shot in it and it tasted like it needed some sugar so i took crystal light (both were fruit punch flavor) and it tasted better, with the protein shakes i cant stand them thin so i take unjury and some sf jello mix, and maybe some pnut butter and blend it tastes pretty good like a milkshake, you could use sf cappiunco mix, or frozen strawberries it taste better like that hope that helps some. tammy
