I am scheduled to have surgery on Friday, 7/25, and my fiance is not to happy about it. I have wanted this surgery since 2000, and he was always encouraging and wanted it for me just as badly as I wanted it. Now that I have done self pay and the surgery is coming up, he is now questioning my decision. He now does not understand why I need the surgery. And he just can't seem to understand why I would pay 10k for the procedure. He is now saying things like we could have worked out together, we could have did this and that together to help me loose the weight. I think brotha is just a little bit insecure, because his chubby fiance is about to become a brick house,:crying:. He is trying everything in his power to discourage me from having it. Not gonna happen....He even told me that he loves me the way I am. I said if you can love me at 200+lbs, you can surely love me at 100+lbs. I just had to vent....:eek:

I will be getting banded on Friday, July 25. I am required to do a 4 day liquid diet prior to the surgery. I am not looking forward to starting that diet on this coming Monday. But I am looking forward to being banded. Good luck to all of ya'll. YAY:thumbup:

Ok Pb and slimming:frown: sounds horrible and yucky. I am getting banded on 7/25 and I am not looking for to anyone of those things (PB and Slimming). So can somebody please let me know what it is, and how to avoid it happening. :thumbs_down:

:confused2:Just curious. A good friend of mine had the bypass surgery about a year and a half ago. Her whole personality has changed. She has become extremely self centered and now has this extremely high sex drive. It's almost like she has sex with anyone who compliments her. I've read some lit on the bypass surgery and it does say that a person's sex drive can change. Is a change in sex drive a possible occurence following the loss of weight after having the lap band surgery. I have come to the conclusion that she is trying to make up for all of the sex that she didn't have when she was overweight (which is not very safe this day and age, if you know what I mean):tt2:

I will be getting banded on July 24, hooray. But I have a question about "restriction." Basically what are you guy talking about when you say you have no restriction, some restriction, or good restriction. Not quite sure I understand the concept. :confused2:

Thanks again you guys. I am drinking EAS protein shakes from Wal-mart. They are okay, could be better. I've heard that 100% whey protein from GNC is good, maybe I'll try those. I will keep eveyone posted on my progress.

Hi, What should I expect following the surgery. Did you join a weight loss program (such as weight watcher) following the surgery. Did you exercise or join a gym? You have lost a lot of weight within less than 2 years. I cannot wait to join the weight loss club.

Hi all, I am new to the site and just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I am so exicited about the procedure. I will be having the surgery on next month, just waiting on the official date. I am paying out of pocket for the surgery. The insurance had me on this six month program, blah, blah, blah. The insurance co's make it so difficult for us. I am so excited I cannot contain myself.
