    Expected loss

Highest weight (sleeve 2017 ) 285 I only got down to 210. Bypass revision due to GERD and regain (dec 2020) 242. Current weight 160. Those are my stats. I have found that with my revision surgery, I am losing weight slowly but steadily. I’m happy with this though and I’m at my lowest I’ve ever been in my adult life. Also, my GERD is gone :) All the best to you
  2. For anyone who has had their gallbladder removed after their weight loss surgery, could you please let me know of your experience post op removal? I’m having my gallbladder removed next week (I’m around 8 months post op bypass) and really haven’t been given much info on what to expect pain wise, post op diet etc. just looking to hear about some personal experiences :) thanks
  3. Hi. I had gastric sleeve surgery in 2017. I went from 130kg down to 90kg, then slowly regained to 110kg. Over time I also developed GERD. I had revision surgery to gastric bypass in dec 2020. I’m happy to say that my GERD is gone completely. And weight loss has been great for me. It has been a little slower then the first time around. But happy to say I’m down to 77kg - so 13kg LOWER then I got to with the sleeve. Slow and steady, I’m in no rush, just so happy to be on the downward trend overall. All the best :)

    150 Pounds down!

Congratulations on 150 lb loss!!! You are looking fantastic. What a huge difference!
  5. @JulieCab my surgeon did the omega loop bypass (mini gastric bypass).
  6. So I did have revision surgery sleeve to bypass. I’ll be honest and say straight up I did have it to help with my GERD. (Which I no longer have symptoms of) however also for weight loss! My highest weight (before sleeve) was 120kg. I got down to 90kg lowest however regained back up to 110kg. I am now 6 months post revision surgery and I am now down to my lowest ever of 80kg! I am so happy with my revision surgery and am happy with my results so far. Although my loss is a little slower this time around, I am sticking to my plan and weight is consistently moving downwards. No regrets. All the best to you :)
  7. I developed GERD with my sleeve. Had the sleeve for just over 3 years before having revision to bypass in dec 2020 and Couldn’t be happier now. Since the bypass, no more symptoms of GERD at all :) and weight loss has been so much more consistent for me this time so far Good luck on your journey :)
  8. I had the sleeve in 2017, and revised to bypass in December 2020 due to GERD and weight regain. Since the bypass in December I have lost 25kg (55 lbs). - current weight 187 lb. Weight loss for me now seems to be slower then the first time around, however I am ok with that. Since my revision I also have had NO more symptoms of GERD. Am so happy I was able to ge this revision, weight is steadily coming off. Hope this helps a bit
  9. I didnt poop for 7 days post op. Ever since then though I’ve had the opposite issue of going several times a day 🤦‍♀️ I’m 12 weeks post op.
  10. I had GERD when I had the sleeve. I had revision to bypass in dec 2020 and have not had any symptoms since then

    Calling all fellow Aussies!!

Also a fellow Aussie here from Nsw. I had the sleeve in 2017 but due to GERD and weight regain have had revision to bypass in dec 2020. I have zero regrets about my decision to have the revision, and since December have lost 20kg. (40kg from highest weight in 2017) All the best for your journey !

    New here

ChrissyJones901, I honestly can’t answer what the insurance claim said - my clinic took care of everything. I was a private patient (in Aus) so may have different procedures etc (not sure where you’re located). sorry I can’t be of more help

    New here

I had the sleeve early 2017. Due to GERD and weight regain I also had revision surgery to gastric bypass. My bypass revision was in dec 2020 and since then I’m down 20kg. (44 pounds) so very happy with my revision. Wishing you All the best!

    Sleeve to RNY

I also had a revision from sleeve(early 2017) to bypass (dec 2020) due to GERD and some weight regain. Happy to say that I no longer have GERD. I’m just over 10 weeks post op and I’ve lost 20kg. May be ‘slower’ then some but I’m so so happy with this progress. Slow and steady :)

    Any Bypassers in their 20s?

Congrats on starting your journey. I am a sleeve to bypass revision. I had my sleeve originally in early 2017 and revision to bypass in December 2020. I’m currently 28 years old now. Since my revision in December I’ve lost lost 20 kg which I’m so happy about. I’m so looking forward to buying new clothes, being able to walk into any shop and know that I’ll be able to find my size, rather then sticking to plus size stores etc. also in regaining my confidence - which is increasing every day :) All the best for your journey. No regrets!

    Pooping all the time now!

This is me too. My bowel motions are now several times a day and quite loose (sorry if tmi 😂) and kind of comes out of nowhere lol. I’m 9 weeks post op.

    Time off work

I was a revision sleeve to bypass. For the bypass I took 3 weeks off work (though my job is fairly active - aged care).
  19. Lynmcg, let us know how you go please if you can :) I am going to contact my surgeons office on Monday for the same reason - constant pain and discomfort in upper abdomen (I’m just over 6wks post op) Good luck for your appt x
  20. We are all so different and you should try not to compare yourself to others. In saying that, I also had my bypass on 7 December. Day of surgery I was 229 and I have lost 15 of those now. Keep up the good work!
  21. I am 11 days post op gastric bypass. Since surgery I am down 4kg! Total loss of 10kg including pre-op diet! Feeling really good, more and more energy each day :)
  22. I’ve been so amazed by my post op experience this time around. My sleeve to bypass conversion was on the 7th December (originally was going to be a few days earlier but got postponed slightly). This time around I have had very little pain, only slight gas pain, and since coming home 2 days ago I’ve had a lot of energy. So very thankful for such an easy recovery (so far). Wishing everyone else here a speedy recovery / and good luck for upcoming surgeries!!

    December 2020

So my original date was dec 4, but I was asked about a week ago if I minded changing my date to the 7th dec which I said ok to. So here I am right now.. sitting in pre-op waiting to get taken through 😱ahh nerves kicking in lol
  24. Sounds like you’ve had a rough journey. Wishing you a smooth run moving forward. Thank you! Hoping the revision does assist with the GERD (my surgeon said it will). Feeling more ‘real’ now. Today I did my pre-op blood test and dietician appt. starting my 2 week pre-op diet on the 20th of this month! 😮
  25. Hey goldengirl1. As mentioned before on this thread I also am sleeved and am getting my revision to bypass on the 4th December. So excited/nervous it’s getting closer. Wish you all the best with your revision too :)
