my surgery went really well! good luck to you!!

i was banded on the 18th too and i'm having more pain from the gas. i do have some pain where the port is too. i think it will just take time. congrats on not backing out :thumbup:

so i had my band placed on monday. the actual surgery went welL! i think they started around 1:30 and woke me up around 3:30. i was home by 6. today (2 days out) i am in moderate pain from the gas. every time i even drink i get more gas pain. i know this is normal but i can't wait until i feel normal again!

so i'm feeling okay and will be there on thur. my main problem is gas pains.. ouch!

I was banded on Monday and am pretty sore. The gas pains are the worst for me. Are there any hints to get the gas pains to go away faster?? Every time I drink anything the pains get worse and I also have diarreah (gross I know). Ansley

I'm finally getting my band tomorrow. I am so excited and nervous at the same time! These last 3 days of liquid have sucked but I did okay. I tried to keep busy so that the hunger pains would go away! Tomorrow is the start of my new life! :tongue2:

i'm glad to hear that the support meeting is on thur. if i'm feeling okay i think i'll go to that. only 2 more days for me!!!!

I am so excited and nervous at the same time! I hope I'm not 1 out of the 2000 that die from this procedure! I'm nervous to leave my husband with two children under 2 1/2 (if something bad should happen to me). Hopefully these scary thoughts are normal! I'm sure things will be fine and my doctor hasn't had anyone die. I will find out today the definate time of my procedure on Monday!

I just had my pre-op with Dr. Fusco yesterday. He just came in and chatted with me for about 20 minutes. He went over some of the stuff that Donna went over (like how you really have to stick with the eating/exercising to be the most sucessful, etc). He also answered the questions that I had written down. It was a short visit and he is very nice!

So today is the first day on my journey! I start my pre-op diet of liquids today. I get my surgery done in 3 days..I can't wait! I weighed in yesterday at the doctor's office at 299.5 lbs. EEEKS! I hope the surgery goes well! :frown:

i'm having my band done by dr. fusco on aug 18th. i had my appt with donna last wk. i am so excited!!

I'm new here. I have my first meeting and consult with the Dr. on July 10th. I'm looking forward to having my lap band done! I am hoping that it doesn't take too long for my insurance to approve and for me to get all of my appointments done before the surgery date can get set! I have been over 100 lbs overweight with BMI over 40 for about 12 years (WOWZERS). 5 years ago I almost got GB and I lost my job, so I didn't complete the surgery. I am glad now that I didn't get it, as I think the LapBand is more of what I am looking for in terms of weight loss surgery. I have 2 small children that I want to live for and be able to run around with, without being out of breath or fearful of a heart attack! Ansley
