  1. i nursed my then 12 month old every 2-3 hrs ALL DAY and ALL NIGHT at that stage in the game. on my liquid phase i drank the bullets (found at GNC but i'm not sure if they have/had whey Protein in them). i also made a lot of just fruit smoothies with fruit juice/ice/fruit (you can sprinkle Protein Powder too). i just weaned my son a wk ago (at 19 months) and i had my lapband surgery august 18th. i did fine nursing and complying with the new way we have to eat! good luck!!!!
  2. I had thought we were suppsed to stick to 3 meals per day with no snacking so that we don't stretch out our pouch and cause slipping? I saw that some of you are also snacking...what are you doing? My doctor says only 3 meals. Just curious.
  3. i'm only 33 also...that's why i'm concerned. so we'll def need a new one...at only being 33 (even if they do last 15 years). bummer!
  4. Does anyone know the life-span of bands? I figure that eventually we will all have to get re-banded. What then?? Will we all have to self pay b/c insurance won't approve someone that is at their normal weight. I self-payed this time around and I can't imagine being able to pay another 16K in 10 years. Thoughts??
  5. oh man that sucks! did they say why they couldn't get the tube in? are they worried about that problem again?
  6. i'm 5 wks out and doing really well! i am down 18 lbs now  i really like dr. fusco and donna is wonderful!

I have made it through 2 whole weeks. I'm down 16.5 lbs and I am feeling really good now! THe added protein was a godsend! I did 2 wks of liquids and now I'm on mushy foods. I have been enjoying mac&cheese a lot! I am so scared of gaining weight back and will be happier once I get my first fill (in one more wk). People are noticing the weight loss  I started exercising tonight and feel good about that! I will start with my personal trainer on Thursday (doing 2 days a wk with her and the rest on my own).

  13. i just had my band put in 2 wks ago. i am still nursing my 1 year old. i got home from surgery at 6 pm and nursed him around 7:30 and then all night long. I didnt take the lortab/hydrocodone but instead took liquid tylenol for pain. my lactation consultant said it was fine to nurse that night. my actual surgery was performed at 1:30 pm and lasted an hour. oh and i suggest getting clear Isopure from GNC for your Protein for the first wk. i didnt know about this stuff and i suffered the whole first wk with getting no protein at all. my son nurses every 3-4 hrs or so still, so any nutrients i was getting/calories was leaving my body quickly and i had zero energy. my milk supply didn't seem to be affected though surprisingly.
  14. i also got my band by dr. fusco. i was banded just 2 wks ago (aug 18th). so far i have lost 17 lbs  i have been very happy with dr. fusco and his staff. his aftercare nurse, donna is wonderful!!! i suggest attending a seminar that is held once a month to learn more!
  15. congrats on your band! i'm 2 wks out and i had the WORST gas ever the first wk! it is completely normal!! i had gas pains that went into my shoulder which is also normal. give it a wk and you will be feeling better! get up and walk walk walk too!
