  1. I just googled these, and I don’t think I can get them here is Australia... but I’ll let my dr know as we might have something like it but named different...
  2. Has anyone had an iron infusion? How did it go? The iron tablets make me super constipated and the liquid makes me nauseas so thinking of going for the injection... but being me, I googled and read some pretty nasty horror stories lol
  3. I was 86kgs at my heaviest, I can’t remember my weight on day of surgery but it was less then that... I got down to 52kgs within 6 months after my surgery, at around the 12 month mark I started to regain. I now stay around the 58kgs mark, some days I’m 59 others I’m 57 lol But have been pretty stable around that weight for a while now. I’m 163cm tall.
  4. What was your experience with the iron infusion? Any nasty side effects?
  5. Yes me! And I did get very thin but have since gained some back...
  6. Hey! So can anyone who experienced dumping with a sleeve and revised to bypass and also experienced dumping with that tell me if it felt different? I’m currently sleeved and just found out the IBS I was diagnosed with after my surgery isn’t IBS after all and it’s actually dumping syndrome! I didn’t think sleevers dump so I was shocked but it totally makes sense now... anyway due to my other issue with GERD, I may need revision surgery.... sooo I’m curious, I hear a lot about bypass and dumping and know that it’s personal and not all patients dump and if they do it may be different triggers for everyone but if you experienced dumping while sleeved then after bypass, is it the same? Was it worse?
  7. Actually that’s one of my problems as well... I can do well all day but in the evenings when we are all settled down and the munchies come out I can’t help myself! And I’m not hungry it’s more of me just not wanting to be left out haha
  8. Wow! I get a bit sick if I try fit too much... I know that if your training heavy then you need to fuel your body, so did you purposely stretch your stomach for this reason?
  9. Haha aw no! Do you find that you graze all day when you over eat or is it in the one sitting that you can over eat?
  10. No, that’s really helpful! Your day of eating is actually very similar to mine when I’m on track but then some days I fall off and eat so silly! Yeah I know about the calorie counting, I don’t do it but just did that few times to get an idea of how much I was eating, mainly curious but also because I was starting to regain a bit of weight so just wanted to see where I was at... have you ever experienced dumping syndrome from eating like this?
  11. Ahh ok so you didn’t have to do the oral glucose test where you drink that sweet syrup type liquid?
  12. I actually didn’t even think sleeve patients got it, but I have been having these ‘episodes’ from about 5 months post op, was told IBS but not even the diet for that is helping me. When I spoke to my surgeon he told me dumping syndrome so I was shocked! I get both the early type and the late type...
  13. Hi! Yes sleeved here and am experiencing all that you said above... not fun! I had absolutely no idea that sleeve patients can get dumping syndrome I always thought it was in RNY... I was diagnosed with IBS just less then a year out from my surgery and last week when I had to speak to my surgeon about a seperate issue, I mentioned my IBS and he said it sounds like dumping syndrome, nothing more was said about it so I don’t know what needs to be done, he’s away on leave currently but really want to speak to him about it and how to deal with it... why is it hard to manage? Do you get it often?
  14. Hi! I’m 4 years out and am curious what others eat in a day who are around the same amount of time out from surgery? I still can only fit around a cup of food per meal and I eat every 2-4 hours otherwise I feel a bit off... I think calorie wise I’m around the 1400-1600 mark, I’m also trying to grow some muscles so I don’t want to eat much less then that but I definitely don’t hurt myself either and some days I find my sleeve is tighter and doesn’t fit a lot and some days I can go back for seconds lol
  15. Hey! How were you tested for this and does this result in diabetes?
  16. Hey! I think I’m going through something similar! I’m 4 years out and have been dealing with it since pretty much the beginning! I was told it’s IBS but now my surgeon is telling me dumping syndrome... I’m like you some days ok some days so sick... I thought dumping was only in bypass surgery, I’m sleeved so that’s why it never even cross my mind! Have you managed to get relief?
  17. Hi! Can you tell me what reactive hypoglycaemia is and how you deal with it?
  18. Hi! i was wondering if anyone has experienced dumping syndrome? I’ve heard there are 2 types, early or late... if anyone experiences the late one can I know what you do to get through an ‘episode’ ? If you have the early type can I also know about any experiences and how you get through it?
  19. I’m not sure what confused you... simply asking a question, isn’t that what these forums are for? I’m all alone here and thought what better place to ask about this then a place where possibly others have gone through it too.... as for imagining, I’m on a waitlist
  20. Hey! So I’m 4 years post op with gastric sleeve and I’ve just recently fallen ill... my symptoms are constant and not easing up with any medication. After GP appointments, specialists appointment and even a trip to the emergency department I finally decided to call my surgeon who thinks it may be a hiatal hernia or GERD. He said if it’s the hernia he can repair and if it’s GERD you will need to go ahead with the bypass... is this true?? I’m 163cm tall and 57kgs... I really really realllllly don’t want to get the bypass but I’m feeling so sick daily... has anyone experienced GERD after the sleeve??
