I am having my surgery on October 8th. I am currently on my Preop 14 day fast. It is very hard but I am determined to win my obesity fight once and for all.

Zom B reacted to The Greater Fool in Slight but consistent pain/discomfort.
Ever heard the old joke that begins "Hey Doc, it hurts when I do this..."
The pinch is probably an internal stitch that is being pulled. There is a good chance it is a temporary stitch intended to give something a good change of healing correctly. When it dissolves enough you will no longer feel it.
Or it is something else easily explained and equally transient.
If you are still concerned, after all I'm just a voice on the interwebs, give your Doc a call. It's either nothing and they'll say so, or it's something and they'll have you come in, or more likely, discuss it at your next follow up.
My surgery was open, so I had such pains for quite a while. They'd appear out of nowhere, I'd compensate, then they'd disappear.
Good luck
Tek
Answer to joke: "Don't do that."

I'm not sure what is normal after the surgery because I didn't have enough time to experience it before I was rushed to the hospital because a hernia got looped in my intestine. The pain after that was excruciating. However I don't think you have anything to worry about but I would check with Dr to make sure everything is fine.

Zom B reacted to ahillig in Well, this isn't what I imagined 1 year out
I'm currently in the hospital because I believe I had some food stuck in my pouch. Yesterday at work I had leftovers from the previous nights dinner for lunch. Now, it went down just fine the night before. I ate about 4 small pieces of the grilled chicken, maybe 2 oz total, and from that point on I had nothing but excruciating pain and I would vomit every time I tried to drink so much as a sip of Water. I only ever vomited a handful of times in the entire year since surgery it was always a one and done deal, I tolerated everything very well and never had strictures or anything like that so this was a bit ridiculous.
I ended up leaving work (as an ER nurse) to go to the ER of the hospital I had my surgery done at and got a cocktail that relaxed things enough to let whatever was stuck pass. They admitted me because I was dehydrated and I still had residual pain in my upper belly. X-rays all showed that all pathways were clear so there isn't anything stuck anywhere else. I'm still here though because it hurts to drink more than 1-2tbsp at a time and I'm scared to try more because it hurts. Hopefully I can go home tomorrow, but while I'm here it's back to Clear Liquids. 😥
I have no clue what happened for things to get stuck but it felt awful. Never imagined I'd be here with these issues over a year out (August 2019 was my surgery).

Zom B reacted to Double_Me in How many meds/vitamins do you take daily?
Right now I'm taking Calcium x3 during the day, then multivitamin, Iron, and B12 at night. Stool softener if I haven't had a movement within the past couple days.
I also take Biotin, but after a discussion with my surgeon he mentioned that there isn't any evidence that it aids in preventing Hair loss. Apparently the shock of surgery simply causes a lot of your hair to shed at once, not break... It isn't related to the strength of your hair itself, where biotin/collagen may help. My plan is to finish off the bottle and not continue to take any.

Zom B got a reaction from GreenTealael in support group to make
I am not sure I understand your idea. You want to have strangers, and people that are pre and post-op to your home during a pandemic and right before flu season? I’m not trying to be snarky, I am baffled by this idea and want to make the suggestion that you try a Zoom support group until things are safer. Best of luck! Be safe.

How about Isopure? I use those instead of shakes because I hate the shakes, too.

I wanted the vertical sleeve also, but was diagnosed with sleep apnea and medium gerd results. My Dr told me my options were Bypass, which would prevent much of the acid, or nothing. Easy choice though I’ll miss NSAIDS because Tylenol does nothing for me. Seems to me the golden standard is whichever surgery best fits your medical history and weight loss goals.
Best of luck to everyone on their journey!!

August 18, here. Am down almost 40 lbs. Yay me. Lots of Fluid retention due to CHF. Hoping I will start losing again. I wind up vomiting a lot because I drink to soon, or eat too fast. So, going back to the WLS bible and getting it right.

Yesterday makes 3 weeks out for me and I weighed in today at 28 pounds. I'm 3 pounds away from being back under 200 and I can't wait.
