  1. I picked my goal weight based on the last time I felt healthy and at a good weight. My doctor agreed with me that I picked a healthy goal weight but he also told me that my body will let me know when I am at a healthy good weight.
  2. h2os- what are these Protein shots called? I would really like to get some because I know that I have a real problem getting enough protein in.
  3. Kygie- You will start feeling better soon, just hang in there:)
  4. I felt exactly the same way, sore, gasey and a general feeling of not feeling good and it seemed to change for me at about a week. Once I was on full liquids I started to feel better and better and I got up and moved around more and now I am at 2 weeks out and I feel great, almost back to normal. Hang in there, it will get better!
  5. Well I am almost 2 weeks out and I am feeling great! I can honestly say that I am feeling 100% and loving it. I really think that because I knew what to exspect, I am doing much better alot quicker than the first time. The first time around I did not go back to work for two weeks and I pretty much stayed around my house. This time I went back to work two days later and just pretty much got back to normal life and I think it took my mind off the pain and my body healed alot quicker. I am so happy I still have my band and I am going to to take great care to make sure I do everything right and maximize all the benefits of having a band! I am feeling so good about this new start!
  6. I am feeling great and ready to re-start this journey! I feel almost back to 100% except for the port area. I know that will get better over time but it still bugs me. I cannot wait until I am off of liquids, it is drving me crazy smelling all this food around me!!! How are you guys doing? Everybody feeling good?
  7. I had my band slip and had replacement surgery on 3/17. The second time around did seem worse for me but I think it was because I was not mentally prepared for it. The position of the port is uncomfortable for me right now but I am hoping the when the swelling goes down it wont bother me as much. I was really afraid I was going to loose my band so I am very thankful that I still have a band and I am willing to put up with the extra pain for the second time around :crying:
  8. I was able to eat popcorn when I was in the stage of eating normal food. I wouldn't try to eat it before you have completely healed. I love popcorn too and I was so relieved to find out that I could still eat it:smile:
  9. la38- Don't be discouraged. I remember from my previous banding experience I lost 12 lbs in the first 2 weeks and than only lost 5 lbs over the next 4 wks until I got my first fill. The loss in the first 2 weeks is due to the liquid diet and lack of eating, it is not typical. Just take it one day at a time, do as much as you feel like you can do and before you know it you will be back to 100%, feeling great and on the road to permanent weight loss. The Band was the best thing I ever did for myself!!! Even with the complication, I am so happy I got the band because I just dont gain weight back now:thumbsup:
  10. I was also banded on the 17th and I am still having the gas. I was re-banded due to a slip so I know it will go away soon. How long are you on liquids for?
  11. I was banded in 10/07 but just had to get re-banded due to a slippage and I remember feeling the exact same way. I had my surgery 3/17 and I fell like crap, so tired and just dont feel like doing anything. I remember feeling this way and I also remember starting to feel better as I was able to eat more foods. I believe it is a matter of not getting enough calories and having to allow your body to recover. It does get better! Just hang in there!
  12. My band slipped a few weeks ago and they sent me to do the barium swallow test and it showed that my pouch was much bigger than normal because the stomache had come up past the band and no fluid was going down. I had alot of pain, throwing up anytime I tried to eat food, severe indigestion and heartburn and extreme pain in my stomache even with just fluids. I just got it replaced on 3/17 and things are going great.
  13. I was banded on 10/2/07 but I got sick a couple of weeks ago and as a result my band slipped. My doctor gave me the option of waiting to see if it went back on its own so for the last two weeks I have been waiting with no fluid in the band. Well I got something stuck and ended up in the ER on 3/17 where my doctor said I would need emergency surgery. He said he might be able to fix it but if there was too much damage to my stomache he may have to take it out. He said if the damage was minimal he was going to take the band out and put in another one, the Realize band, that he felt had much less cases of slippage because it was wider. I had surgery, they put another band in, the Realize band and I am still on my full liquid diet with my follow appt. on Wednesday. I feel great and I am so relieved that I did not loose the band completely. I feel like I am recovering much faster this time around.
