Hi! I have BCBS of Michigan Trelleborg Corporation. My info was submitted on June 27, 2008 and I've been calling about twice a week. I spoke with the ins. co. this past week and they told me that they do not require pre-authorization or pre- certification(PRE-APPROVAL). They (the ins. co.) said that my doctor would receive a letter stating the criteria but not an approval letter. She said that would be determined after the ins claim is filed. I'm so :tt2:. I am also very:angry:.

I am so :thumbup: right now. I have talked with the insurance company about the approval for the surgery. The ins. co. likes to call it pre-certification or pre-authorization. They (the ins. co.) are telling me that I will not receive an approval letter to my doctor but a letter stating the criteria. From that point the claim should be filed after surgery and then we will see how things will go. I spoke with someone at the doctor's office and they did not seem to understand what I was talking about. I usually speak with one nurse in particular through emails or by phone. So I called her on three way with the ins. co. and she sent me to another ext. where I received a voice message.:w00t: I live about 30 minutes from the doctor's office so I don't really want to drive to the office to ask questions that can be answered over the phone.I am so :w00t: :mad2:right now.

Hi! I'm trying to meet local people who have been banded or plan on being banded. I've finished all of my testing and now I'm waiting for insurance approval. I'm hoping to hear something within the next couple of weeks.

Hi! I've been going to the Carolina Weight Loss Clinic and I plan on being banded by Dr. Bauman. Has anyone else been banded by Dr. Bauman? I'm waiting to find out if I'm approved for the surgery:scared2:.
