  1. Congrats!
Miss215 reacted to ms.sss in When did your hunger return? Your head hunger?
First, let me make the mandatory disclaimer that everyone is different. The experiences of each person on here vary GREATLY.
With that said, my own personal experience was that I got actual physical hunger around the 8 or 9 month mark. Everything else was just cravings. (For the first 1-3 months I actually had food aversion. Later it would just be sporadic in the sense there would be days every once in a while that I just didn't want to eat)
I'm 1.5 years out now and I definitely get hungry regularly. But not the ravenous kind from pre-WLS. And it definitely doesn't take as much food as it did before to satisfy it.
I would also like to add that I have times when I just want to eat (even when I'm not actually hungry). If I'm not mindful, I could go back to just eating/snacking just for the sake of eating/snacking. So I have to be mindful. I realize this is going to be a life-long thing, and I'm fully prepared to do it.

Miss215 reacted to Sandra Nuelken in I hit 100 pounds lost today!
It has been a journey, the last several months the hardest! The down 2 up 1 is driving me crazy after the dropping easier for the first 6 months. Now I struggle for 5 pounds a month. But today I'm going to sit back and enjoy the loss and feel very proud of myself. I never thought I'd be here a year ago. I was still trying to qualify for the surgery and gaining weight each day. Today is the start of my new me and new life. I can walk every day without knee pain and look forward to it too. For those of you thinking about it just do it. For those who think you are too old, I'm 73 and did it. Good luck to everyone out there and please stay healthy!

Don't get me wrong but how much weight loss did you expect during this time span? Revisions tend to lose slower. Yes, I can absolutely understand the need to get back down with the weight fast but this is not a matter of weeks as you already know. Expect at least as much time to lose the excess weight this time as you needed before.
And tell these toxic family members of yours that your weight and diet is none of their business. Might need a bit of yelling but it's worth it.

Yes I do. When I lost the weight the first time a lot of negative ppl in my life said I would fail and gain it all back which I did!😢😢😔😔😔 and evening though I cut most ppl out of my life the main ones are my family. I’ve literally been in hiding. I can’t believe they were right.

Please don't compare the weight loss rate of a man to the weight loss rate of a woman. You're setting yourself up for disappointment.

So far, I’ve only told my my best friend who will be my surgery companion, another close friend, my mom and one of my cousins. I’m not a super private person with the majority of things,I’m actually pretty transparent with a lot. However, I want to get through the surgery and upright on the recovery and regimen development before I really even talk about it because I don’t have the energy to deal with people’s questions, objections and the like. For now,I need support from those who love and know me well, while I navigate this.

I'm 32 and had the sleeve 1/7/20. Down 77 pounds. My first two days were very difficult, but mainly in the sense that I could not get my Water down, and I was so nauseous that I was even throwing up my anti-nausea meds.
I had a few hiccups, including 5 weeks post op, landing back in the hospital for dehydration but that had nothing to do with the surgery (although I am sure it was exacerbated by my recovery), and everything to do with the stomach bug my family was passing around. I got a couple bags of Fluid, and was let go the same day.
So far I really don't have too much excess skin, but it is early. Ideally I would like to lose another 50-60 pounds. Not sure how my skin will be then.
Socially, my situation is probably a bit different than most. I work at a hospital, and my best friends all work with me. They knew about the surgery and have been 100% supportive since day one. They are used to patients of all kinds, so my being a bariatric patient was no big deal. They do razz me occasionally about how little I eat before I get full...but it is kind of comical at times, and its all in good humor.
This was by FAR the best choice I have ever made. No regrets at all, never have had any.

Miss215 reacted to WInston223322 in does anyone gain weight before you lose?
Water weight fluctuates. That is why i have posted here a million times - Do not weigh yourself every day you will end up in a Rubber room with a jacket the buckles in the back!
I weighed in twice a month 1st and 15th of every month.

Hey all! I haven't been as active on the site recently, due to the virus and just focusing more on life. But i'm coming up on 10 months and i did some transformation pictures. I hit my goal in month 7 and since then ive been trying to maintain a balanced diet that helps me put some muscle on. ive been getting in 1500-2000 cals a day, but that means im eating pretty much every hour or two and still drinking my 2 Protein Shakes a day. But i'm starting to see results so im really happy with that. I still have not had bread, and honestly i dont see why ill ever need it again. I do treat myself here and there. Once a week i will have ice cream, (its my favorite and i dont want to deprive completely) and i allow myself one meal where its kind of a free for all as far as not worrying about Protein, but i naturally finding myself not wanting junk anymore. I crave veggies and fruit more then ever. I hope everyone is staying safe and continues to fight the good fight. I hope you all have a great Friday.

I have left relationships that have lasted longer for less. Please don't let the amount of time spent with someone be a deciding factor in what you should or shouldn't be doing. If someone isn't actively adding to your life, then they aren't worth being there in the first place. He sounds like he is insecure with you losing weight and gaining confidence, hence his reactions and belittling of you. There are plenty of men out there who would adore you and support your journey, so please don't let some a*****e ruin it for you. ♥

I started at 362 at my consult and lost 92 pounds before surgery. I’m down 10 pounds since then (2 weeks ago). I am 5 feet even. I agree with AshAsh, it has taken a long time for me to see a difference. And I worry that the honeymoon period will not be long enough for me to lose as much weight as I would like. The other piece for me has been psychological—there don’t seem to be many women my size or larger here (starting BMI was 70) and so I feel still like an outlier and there are fewer examples of people who have been successful at my size or larger. It would be great to support other women with higher weights.

While scrolling through past postings I noticed there is" Guys who started over 400lbs" in the Guys Room. Well I believe if there is" gravy for the 🐔rooster" there certainly should be "gravy for the🐔 hen " especially those of us with meatier🍗 drumsticks. Are there challenges we face that aren't faced by our 200 lb sisters? Do we tend to lose weight faster or slower than smaller🐣 flock members?

I had my procedure at Blossom on Friday. It was a great experience, well organized, and totally educational. I met with surgeons, Matt A and Andrea S - both have an excellent bedside manner and were very informative. I have to say I have been an executive in the health care industry for many years and this place has it together. You will be very pleased.

I underwent VSG at Blossom Bariatrics/Warm Springs Surgical Center on 1/24/19. My surgeon was Dr. Matt Apel. I have nothing but positive things to say. Their staff members were amazing, but more importantly, they were completely thorough in everything they did- from the pre-op work-up, to surgery, to the IV infusion the day after surgery. They even emailed me copies of the surgical report and pathology reports. Everything was spectacular. The hotel they put us in was nice, clean, and quiet. The presidential ground transportation they provided was also very convenient for out of towners like myself. I’m a registered nurse with a background in pre-op/post-op, so I tend to pay attention to things that most people don’t notice. I found absolutely nothing to critique. Every T was crossed, and every I was dotted. I honestly can’t think of a single thing to complain about. If your insurance won’t pay to have bariatric surgery done locally (and even if it does), then I 110% whole-heartedly recommend Blossom Bariatrics.

Hey! I’m headed there next week. Will be there from the 20th-27th for the Fast Track program. I hear so many great things about them and being a nurse myself I have a scrutinizing eye for things being up to par medically, so I’m not worried. Even though I’ve been coordinating from way on the East Coast, I feel 100% secure with these folks. I was so afraid I would have to push my surgery back, but I’m so glad I won’t. With all of the Covid changes they’ve put into place, it’ll be a bit nervewrecking to have to go to all of the appointments and into surgery l, alone, but I’m confident it will be great. All of the information has been so well laid out on their websites, videos and info pamphlets. I am thoroughly impressed by them so far.
