    I hate food....

I'm happy to report that this has gone away- THANK the GODS! I guess it was just my stomach fully healing. Thank you for all the advice and sympathy!
  2. So after I lost all the water weight from surgery, I lost 10lbs- all by week 1.5. Now? Nothing. I'm just past my 2 week mark now. Did I get the infamous 3 week stall early? Also sick of feeling kinda crappy multiple times per day. And who has time to eat 8x per day?? And do they really expect it to take 1/2 hour + to eat 2oz of food?? Very frustrated.
  3. You'll get through this ok! The most frequent comment I read/ hear is "why didn't I do this sooner?" As someone who has yo-yoed in my weight throughout my life, getting healthy sooner rather than later is for the best I think.
  4. Today is officially my 1 month post bypass, and I've only lost 16lbs. I had a gnarly 2.5 week stall, but I barely eat anything- I feel like I should be losing more. 16 lbs. in a month is nothing to sneeze at, but I thought It'd be a little more. Are my expectations too high? I've been struggling to get in enough fluids too. Just feeling a bit disheartened.
  5. What the actual f**k? That person is NOT your friend. She put you down and then turned it around to make it all about her and HER "honest" efforts... she's jealous and trying to cut you down to make herself feel superior. Anyone who has been on this journey AT ALL knows this is quite far from the "easy way" or the "cheater's way." You made a choice for your health, now the it's time to choose your mental health and cut her out. 210 for your health is far from sickly (and congrats on the 50lbs! That's a LOT of weight!) My sister was a huge nay-sayer, saying that I was going to have bigger mental health issues and ruin my life etc. She just didn't get it. A lot of ppl who aren't there themselves don't. I'm sorry to hear your "friend" was so awful to you. You don't deserve that at all.

    Super Dooper Protein Shake

Make sure you drink it slowly over the course of the day because your body can only absorb about 20-30g at a time. Good stuff though 😃

    Rice, Pasta, Bread, etc

There's also lentil pasta which has 12g of protein per serving.
  8. I agree, just be direct about it. If your dr doesn't refer you, find a new one. At your BMI and with your wl difficulties, it shouldn't be an issue getting the referral.

    I hate food....

The thing is, I DO get hungry- a little. Not head hunger, but actual "if you don't eat you will faint!" hunger. The food tastes fine, just often things make me feel ill. And I get the dry heaves sometimes more than an hour later, it's weird.

    I hate food....

I can keep stuff down, mostly. I just start retching for a few minutes, then just have this sort of malaise all day. I'm so sick of protein shakes omg, but I guess that's all I've got really. I'm so bummed.
  11. I'd put a call into your surgeon. Bariatrics is very specific and they may be better equipped to identify and help you with your pain.

    I am going bald!!!!!!

One of the reviews for it was from a WLS patient who said this shampoo and conditioner was the only thing that worked. I haven't gotten to the hair loss phase yet, but I started using it and my hair has never been so thick or grown so fast. The biotin supplement helps support your hair, the saw palmetto blocks the process that makes your hair shed. btw- I only use the shampoo/ conditioner ~2x per week. Take the supplements every day.

Try this and the biotin conditioner. Start taking saw palmetto along with biotin.Hope it helps. https://www.amazon.com/Biotin-Shampoo-Hair-Growth-Thickening/dp/B01M3Y6WW5/ref=pd_bxgy_2/145-9401167-6381965?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B01M3Y6WW5&pd_rd_r=1bbfb619-2f15-40b4-b387-81d0f527a989&pd_rd_w=EqcDD&pd_rd_wg=FU5XD&pf_rd_p=f325d01c-4658-4593-be83-3e12ca663f0e&pf_rd_r=KWWC7K9T1PDKYBFPKJTQ&psc=1&refRID=KWWC7K9T1PDKYBFPKJTQ

    Pre-op liquid diet speed bump

I had my share of slip ups during the liquid diet- I didn't tell my Dr., surgery went off no problem.
  15. I'm 5 days post-op and I cannot stop burping! Every time I ingest anything- *burp.* It's most disconcerting! Is this a liquids stage thing or something I'm going to have to deal with forever? This is so distressing! I was raised with very good manners and right now I feel like a 12 year old boy showing off to his friends. Otherwise, the "winds" aren't too bad, I assume that's still trapped air from the surgery making its way out and that it'll pass. Just another "is this normal???" post.

3 week post op weight gain

My stall lasted 2 or 3 weeks. Very disheartening, but it broke eventually!

    STARBUCKS

The sous vide bites. Hella protein.

PCP’s negative response to my wls

Yeah, get a new PCP ASAP. Mine was very supportive, very on the ball with it, (both of them, actually- my PCP left the clinic a month before my surgery, so I got in with a new one right before.) This guy is a jerk. I wish you the best with your surgery- you got this!

    Vent/rant

Try Hint water- it's water infused with various flavors. If nowhere else, you can find it on Amazon.

    Pre-Op Liquid Diet

BTW- if you just need to chew or crunch something- use ice or popsicles. Good luck, it's the worst part of the whole ordeal IMO.

1 month post-op, kinda skimpy WL

Thank you for the reassurance. I wasn't basing my expectations on 600lb life, but on info from this site and others like it. I am eating, and generally making my protein goals etc. I just so often feel kinda pukey when I eat, drink, or take my meds that I struggle with making myself do it. I'm still learning to sip and space out my meals adequately. These technical details are a lot harder than I was expecting- I was not a big bite person anyway, but I could sit and eat a meal without it getting cold by the time I was done. Just more learning curve. https://www.healthgrades.com/right-care/weight-loss-surgery/after-weight-loss-surgery-the-first-30-days#:~:text=But it tends to be,20% loss of excess weight.

    Tracking Intake

I'm a gamer, so I use the Habitica app. I set my own goals including difficulty settings (I'm disabled/ fibromyalgia too) so I have tasks/ achievements for when I take my vitamins, have a protein shake, make my other protein goals, water intake, exercise etc. I get "experience" points and my character levels up, earns pets, mounts, items etc. I've just started using it and it's been a real help.

    Plastic Surgery Countdown is on!

    You look fantastic!
  25. If you’ve been nauseated for 3 days, I’d go back. What does your surgeon say? I’m sorry you’re suffering so much.
