  1. Many thanks and I'm glad you're doing it. The only regret I have is that I didn't do it sooner!!! (Please call me Grace ).
  2. Thank you so much for your good wishes. The day of the surgery was no day at the beach. I cannot lie...but Now I'm very comfortable and glad it's over. Very glad I bit the bullet and did it. Grace
  3. So many thanks for the good wishes Lily (pretty name you have. My mother was named Lily) Grace
  4. My daughter had bypass a year ago and she warned me against weighing myself every day...she said that it can be very discouraging when you reach a stall as you have described here.... I get my gastric sleeve tomorrow! Hugs to all Grace
  5. Hi there - Many thanks for your supporting words. It's coming fast (day after tomorrow). I woke up this morning thinking I still have a chance to get out of this....but if I did, I would never get another chance. I'm getting it done come hell or high water.
  6. Thank you so much! It's coming up fast! I just have today, Monday and Tuesday and then YAY - I'll be a foxy old lady LOL
  7. Thanks so much for your encouraging note. I really appreciate it. I see you had the sleeve...that's what I'm having. I want to lose 75-80 pounds. I'm only 5'2" and I weigh 202 now.... Actually, it was just a week ago I got a call to come in to see my surgeon and she gave me the "go". She told me to start losing weight on my own before the surgery (which is scheduled for this coming Wednesday.) I actually have lost 10 pounds in 7 days.. I proud of me and I'm proud of YOU Keep in touch. Many thanks, Grace
  8. I sure will. Many thanks for the welcoming note
  9. So good to know. Many thanks Grace
  10. You folks are so nice to send me these messages. I've made up my mind and nothing is going to change that. I had a hard time convincing my family (and some friends) that I was going through with it but it's now or never.
  11. Many thanks for your kind reply to my post. Yep....I'm going for it. I won't get another chance
  12. I'm prepared to get responses that tell me I'm out of my mind, but I am having a gastric sleeve procedure one week from now and I turned 81 years old in January 2020. My rationale is that while I might not have many years left on this planet, I want to look as good as I can and feel as good as I can. Summer is coming and I mind the heat dreadfully. I'm looking forward to being more comfortable come the hot weather. Yes, I have air conditioning but I do go out the door sometimes. I'd love to hear from people in my age bracket who had undergone this surgery. I am in the Boston, Massachusetts area, and I am told by the weight center where I am being treated that they have several people in my age group scheduled for upcoming surgery.
