  1. This has been one of the biggest disappointments of my life. I had a gastric sleeve performed on February 26. I was exactly 200 pounds on the day of my surgery. Today, almost 8 weeks out I am a measily 14.5 pounds down. BIG DEAL. I suffered miserably! Apart from that I counted on the surgery to help me. I am doing all the work and from what I can see, the surgery is doing nothing.
  2. Thank you! I definitely will call them. I'm so discouraged today I want to scream! Did they give you meds?
  3. Hello there: What is a minimizer ring? I don't think you should presume that 100-200 calories per day will be a new normal for you. Sounds like this needs looking into and I'm glad you're having a scope done. Is you 58 pound weight loss a combined before and after surgery or only after surgery? I wish you well. Best, Grace
  4. So nice to hear from a fellow Dr. Gee patient. I liked her, but I really think my operation was a bust! I was done (a sleeve) on February 26 and am only down 13 pounds. I think I could eat almost any reasonable amount. I don't feel full. Very disappointed! I'm happy for you, though. Did you have a bypass or sleeve? Grace
  5. I am 7 WEEKS out and I eat Bread and Butter Pickles all the time. I can eat just about anything. It has me wondering if they did anything at all to me, but I sure as hell suffered.
  6. OMG you said four MONTHS. You should be able to eat anything unless I'm full of inaccurate information. I am 7 weeks out and I can eat anything I want but in small quantities.
  7. At 4 weeks you should be able to tolerate that well.
  8. I had a gastric sleeve on February 26 and recovery was dreadful. I'm pretty stoic when it comes to pain but I suffered miserably from the surgery. My weight loss has been painfully slow. For several days I've been terribly constipated so night before last I took Milk of Magnesia. Well it took effect last evening and I spent about 45 minutes in the bathroom until I felt that I was finished "going". I woke up this morning thinking "oh well, my weight will finally be down a pound or two but I cannot trust it because of the diarrhea." WRONG! I was up a pound. I'm ready to bang my head against a wall. It seems to me that the surgery did me absolutely no good. Here I am 7 weeks out from surgery and have lost a measily 14 pounds and that's will next to starvation. Very frustrated in Massachusetts. Grace
  9. What is it that you do for work that you are continuing to go out during this virus crisis?
  10. I'm SO SORRY you are going through this. It must be terrifying! Please let us know what your doctor/s say and how you are progressing after this awful experience. Grace
  11. I just created a lovely dessert that I want to share with you all. Actually, it's so basic you probably have done this yourself. Blend a frozen banana, one cup of frozen mixed berries, one packet of sugarless vanilla pudding mix one cup of skim milk and two packets of artificial sweetener. I used Splenda. ....just blend it all for 2 minutes. It makes a really nice pudding! Enjoy! Grace
  12. Oh please if they don't identify it and it looks like a slimy swamp creature ..... that's what it looks like - not making fun of it.
  13. How much Hagen Das Ice Cream is pictured here?
  14. That purple corn thing looks like a swamp creature....ewwwww
  15. I must admit that staying away from carbonated beverages and caffeine has been one of the most difficult things for me (6 weeks out from a sleeve). I just couldn't stand it so I was drinking diet coke which I flattened by adding a bit of water to it. Then I went to straight Diet Coke (bubbles and all). NO problem at all.
  16. So glad to know this. Many thanks.
  17. I'm 6 weeks post-op with a gastric sleeve. I see people mentioning frozen bananas on here. I froze some today but I don't know how you all use them. In a shake done with a blender? Thanks Grace
  18. Thank you for your suggestion. However, the fact is that I eat VERY slowly. Stopping after each bite, chewing incessantly. Other people are done FAR faster than me. It was a habit I learned from Weight Watchers many, many years ago and it has become my way of eating.
  19. You are losing much faster than me. EVERYONE is losing faster than me. My sleeve was done on February 26 and I've lost a whopping 14 pounds.
  20. Is half a cup the max your stomach will allow or did you just eat half a cup by choice. My problem is that I am able to eat just about all I want of anything! It's like I never had anything done to my stomach although my surgeon swears that she removed 85% !!
  21. I love your prediction Lily! Why would I get ticked at you? Never! You made me smile!
  22. @ MsMocie: You're telling me the obvious.
