  1. Hi iteachurkid, I'm thinking about the needle for the fill. It is fairly large and I definitely wouldn't look. I am getting banded on 7/17 by Dr. Brengman and am also a nurse. I don't mind getting labs drawn or IV's started, but I know the fill needle is big and that I don't need to see it. Suzanne, I read what you said about different doctors at Brengman's office doing the fills. Are you able to request who does it? Or, do you find that it really matters. I have never met Dr. Elliot. I've met everyone else I think, and I like them all. Thx, Nancy B.
  2. I started my pre-op diet this past Sat. and my surgery is 7/17. My first day was the worst. I just stay busy and out of the kitchen. I still get a little hungry, but find that the protein in the shakes keeps me from getting the initial diet "shakes" that I've gotten in the past. Good luck!!! Nancy B.
  3. My banding is July 17. I start my pre-op diet two weeks before. It consists of two protein (slim-fast) type shakes daily and a meal of a turkey sandwich on wheat with a piece of fruit, plus lots of water. I know when I start a diet, I tend to feel hypoglycemic at times - what has anyone else done when they get "woozy" on the liquid pre-op diet? Nancy B.
  4. nyllrap, are you going to Dr. Brengman or Dr. Schroeder at St. Mary's. I also had the scan and am scheduled for a lap band with Dr. Brengman on July 17. Getting nervous - but after seeing the scan I know how big I really am and that this is the right decision for me. Nancy B.
  5. My surgery is July17. I can't wait! I look forward to sharing my journey with all of you!!
