  1. No the actual mediation in your system dilates your pupils just like when you go it the eye doctor. It makes it hard to see things up close.
  2. It works well but keep in mind it dilates your pupils so you may experience vision issues.
  3. I'm honestly not tracking. I'm eating 4 or so ounces of puree every 3 hours or so. And one protein shake a day. As I eat more I drink less. It's like a full time job trying to get it all in !
  4. I am thanks! I just slept a lot that day and tried to hydrate more. It seemed to have pass without taking hold, phew.
  5. Are you walking? That helps heal the cut muscle and move the air faster.
  6. I wasn't even on a liquid diet before surgery.
  7. I don't even know if I took face shots! I did do belly! This is night before surgery, day after surgery (the swelling is comical! Haha!)and last night.
  8. You're stunning! Those cheekbones gah!
  9. I was the 27th too and I'm not slated to start soft foods till two weeks which will be Monday. I may start something over the weekend so I'm not alone or away from home if I'm miserable lol
  10. Do you feel warm liquids and food work better than cold on your stomach? Cold water kills me but I can drink tea all day !
  11. What has boggled my mind the most through this experience is how there's literally no consistency for anything, from pre-op diets (I didn't have to do liquid) to when to eat after and what diet to follow your whole life. It's mind blowing. Any other major surgery in the world has a pretty commonality across the boards and doctors. For me, once through all food stages, I have no intention of eating sugar/fat free or keto or anything like that. I will eat wholesome, nutrient rich foods that nourish my body. My surgeon is totally on board with this and says it's life long and sustainable. I may not lose 90 pounds in three months but I will have lifelong habits to lose and maintain a healthy weight. Dr. V. swears that most people lose their hair and feel like garbage because they're depriving themselves of nutrients. If you have time watch this, it really makes sense.
  12. It looks pretty similar. I definitely stray from the breakfast lunch and dinner thing and just am trying to get food and protein and liquids in when I can. I think once I start solids I will move to more meal based timing.
  13. What does it feel like when your stomach "rejects" it? I saw someone once say "if you chew anything enough it becomes a puree" lol. I also saw some people love that crab stick stuff in soft foods too but I love snow crab too! Here is my next phase. What are your thoughts?
  14. I think I'm getting a cold. Ugh! Anyone go thru this and take anything?
  15. Same ! Not hungry either, just eating for energy. And for taste. I'm sure it will change when I move to solids but no restriction issues so far
  16. Same! Once I got over the nausea I'm able to eat (drink) plenty. Today I had 1 ounce yogurt, 3 ounces baby food, protein shake, 3 ounces pudding, 3 ounces soup, 2 ounces mashed potatoes, and 4 ounces soup. Plus plenty of water and tea ! I'm like did they give me extra room!? Haha. I sip all very slow and have one spoonful, put spoon down, etc. Today I feel great and finally had energy!
  17. I could only drink water for a couple days so I'm sure that didn't hurt lol
  18. Look good! I got on the scale this morning, down 14 lbs in 8 days. Yikes
  19. Today is day 8 post op and the first day I felt like a human. I had to call the doctor yesterday morning for anti nausea medication. I wasn't throwing up, just couldn't stomach the thought of anything. It worked well and now that I can get some calories and carbs in, I feel so much better with more energy. I think it was sugar free syrup with the sugar alcohols that set me up for a really bad weekend. Staying away from that ! I'm still not on soft foods but enjoying a variety of soups and baby food. I know many plans have people avoiding carbs and sugar but I'm not one of those and man, do they make you feel better lol
  20. I'm allergic to the glue so they couldn't use it ! I also had 3 previous abdominal surgeries. Scar tissue is fun lol
  21. I had a abdominalplasty a few years ago! My motivation for this surgery was severe GERD and gastroparesis. I could stand to lose 50 or so pounds too!
  22. How do you not get it on your clothes?
  23. When do I get to take the rest of the steri strips off? They're so itchy!
  24. Not gross! Looks good! Here's my knife wounds.
