How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
I am not sure I can predict anymore when I will PB. Sometimes I can say, "Yup, I ate too fast". Other times I 'should' have been able to eat, such as afternoon time and hadn't had any trouble prior with that particular food or time of day. It is weird and makes every meal an adventure. I appreciate the weightloss but am still a bit nervous about eating in public because of it.

Breathing tube
I have had several surgeries in my life and don't remember having the tube placed or removed. Also, I have never had a sore throat. No worries!

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
I have days with no issues and then I will have days where I have a cup of milk for early morning breakfast and then PB. Weird!

Gurgling 2 weeks post op?
I am 4 months out and still gurgling..in fact my hubby asked if I was ok last night. Be prepared to gurgly and burpy. Luckily, I have trouble acting like a lady most of the time, so it all fits right in. haha

Anyone else NOT have Bandster hell?
I did not suffer through bandster hell at all.
-
another fill- now no restriction
Saline inserted properly into your band does not disappear. It can leak out though if the band is damaged.

Need Reasurrance/Clarification PLEASE
Best of luck to you. I understand your concerns, but I think you will be pleasantly surprised how easy it will be to control the amount of food you are able to eat. I was a volume eater and the band cooled those jets pretty well!

How Much Chili W/Proper Restriction
My doctor told me that as long as I am losing weight he is not concerned with measuring my food. He states that he has heard some folks on 1/4 cup and 1/2 cup limits and that they are ridiculous. Just take it slow and you will re-learn what your limits are.

What a bitter pill...
I am on Effexor XR and it is a large capsule, I just swallow it with no problems. I take a very large vitamin pill, but just split that. I would stop crushing and just split them.:D

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
I can eat them fine, just very slowly. I did PB on them once but it was because I ate too fast.

Why did I just throw up saltines?
I pb'ed the other morning because I drank some milk too fast. It is different everyday.

3cc in band for first fill?
My first fill was 4cc and they had to take 1cc back out because I couldn't swallow water.

chewable multi vitamin advice
I am a huge Costco fan, so I have a giant bottle of Kirkland brand vitamins and I split them up before taking them.

Major "discomfort"
It was several weeks before I got my 'get up and go' back. Also, I lost my gallbladder many years ago and at the time of the attacks I thought I was having a heartattack. The pain was immense and was mostly in the center of my back. In fact, I was taken to the hospital by ambulance twice during these attacks before they figured it out. Hopefully, this is not what you are experiencing.

weight watchers on the band?
WW is a wonderful program. If nothing else it will educate you on portion sizes and strategies for handling hunger.

Anesthesia- Dry heaving or puking?
I was so dizzy/nauseous from the anesthesia I probably could have stayed another day. The actual incisions were nothing compared to recovering from anesthesia. If I could go back I would have asked for a prescription of Phenergan (suppository). It definitely helps with nausea and you don't have to eat it (uh, you know )

Post LapBand Constipation problem
Be careful with dried prunes/apricots. I had a TERRIBLE sliming episode with apricots that left me sore for three days (stomach).

Just got banded yesterday
Hang in there! I am impressed that you are able to be online and post the next day!

VERY tight band
Personally, I would go back and have them remove some. You do not want to be miserable and you want to be able to get the correct nutrition. Also, when you are too tight, you could stay swollen because everything you drink causes your stomach and band to work harder than they need to.

Anesthesia- Dry heaving or puking?
They put it in my IV. It made all the difference in the world. I wish I knew what it was called.....

How are the banded Notorious Novembers???
Wow lcwils01, sounds like the second doc was kind of a weenie huh? I would stay far away from him for sure. Always demand respect! I am sorry if I missed it, but did you ask your surgeon for a bump up in your next fill date? Did you explain the troubles you are having? He must have his reasons for the wait in between fills...but I agree that they aren't very flexible or accommodating. That is a long wait, especially when you are battling your appetite! Hang in there...we all have the 'hurry up and wait' syndrome. We get so excited about the surgery that afterwards we are like..."Hey, is this it?" gentylwind, say Hi to Allen for me. I went to HS there many many many many (ok not that many) years ago.

Anesthesia- Dry heaving or puking?
I get nauseous from it as well. They gave me medicine to help, not just antacid. It makes you very sleepy, which is what you will need anyways.

What FINALLY made you decide to get banded??
Mine was HBP and diabetes. Plus, I was depressed and feeling older than I should.
