Unsure if surgery is for me
Image if you you did this 2 years ago. Where would you be right now? Every day you don't is a wasted day. In 3 months I've lost almost 60 pounds and my life has completely changed. Bad foods no longer rule my life. I now eat to live and think about how a food benefits my body as fuel. At first I just really wanted to loose the weight. Now I'm all about my health. At first I had a few people try to bring my idea of the lap band down. Now, everyone is supportive and I'm willing to tell anyone I had it. It's no secret for me. I'm not ashamed. In the beginning I was scared, but I knew if I did not do this I was agreeing to be fat forever and let my eating habits rule the rest of my life. I went on an eating tour before the band to "say goodbye one last time" to my favorites. Now, I can honestly say I'm not even tempted by those things. Not even sure how the band made that happen. I can't believe it myself.

Update
I've really been neglecting my blog. But between working and college classes I'm busy. And all my lapband stuff too keeps me busy. I still get my 10,000 steps a day in with a pedometer I keep in my pocket daily. I'm 201 now but I know my eating habits are bad. Most days I can't get myself over 700 calories. I know this is why I'm just not down to 199 yet. I can't wait to get to 199! I know I need 1,200 a day, or my body will stall. Now that I'm down 57 pounds, friends and family don't want to hear my lapband and weight loss talk. I think it makes them feel guilty they aren't making positive changes with themselves. I'm lucky I've met a few great lapbanders here that instant message me so I can't pour out all my lapband stuff on them. Even this new guy at my job had lapband over a year ago and is down 90 something pounds. So one more person to chat with. I did join a gym, but honestly I've only been once. I just haven't made the time like I promised myself I would. Shame on me!

things I wont/dont miss about being overweight
1. Shirt stains because everything fell on my large boobs. 2. Using car seat belts with a winter coat on. 3. Fat roll rashes under my tummy. 4. That over stuffed from eating feeling 5. Hiding my eating from drive thrus all alone in my car. 6. Lack of physical energy. 7. Avoiding clothes in the back of my closet because they are to tight. 8. Finding decent underwear that doesn't look like granny panties for my size. 9. Avoiding old friends so they don't see I'm now huge. 10. The lecture from my Dr. to loose weight every single visit.

How much have you lost July Butterfllies??
Everyone is doing really good. It's motivational for me to keep checking back here. I must say thedailyplate.com has really helped me keep my diet in check. And keeping the pedometer in my pocket and going for at least 10,000 steps a day. I'm so close to onderland. I can't wait!

Hello Everyone AGAIN
It's never to late to get back to basics. And I'd go back to exercise that's not overdoing it. I think where you went wrong was letting yourself get too tight. I hear that's like taking a huge step backwards. The band is only a waste of money if you stop using it like it's meant to be used. Today is a new day. :grouphug:

Surgery cancelled!!!
I've worked at hospitals for the last 15 years and I can tell you I'd rather have surgery at a surgery center. I'd just go forward now at the surgery center. Trust me, less risk.

A Big Thank You!
I also use the daily plate. It makes all the difference. Guessing at calorie intake isn't going to work. Also by using the daily plate you know how much sodium, fiber, fat & protein your taking in.

Dealing with addictions
I was a diet soda addict myself. Thats all I drank. First thing in the morning I'd grab one before food, etc. I went thru a 24 pack in less than a week. I was having 8 diet sodas a day. I gave it up cold turkey a month before my surgery. I figured I might as well get prepared right away. I think I was on a high knowing I was going to have lapband and wanting the lap band so bad. I haven't touched a diet soda since. I've been severly tempted, but have not had one. I'm too afraid after learning I can no longer tolerate bread, pasta or salad. I got sick on each one of those things so I don't want to get sick on soda. Gagging up those things killed. I just keep thinking I'm no longer rotting my bones with the carbonation. I'm not even sure how people banded are even drinking it. I can tell you I hate a flat or warm diet pop, so I'm not even sure how bandsters are letting it go flat first.

Weight Loss Makeover
Besides all new clothes, I'm pitching all my bras and underwear and getting all new.

What Do you DO!?!?!
Well said! I've had a few OFF moments. I've still done great.

lap band after gastric bypass????
I have a family friend who has since stretched out her gastric bypass pouch and is now going to have lapband over that. I'm happy for her. I hope you can find someone in your area to do it. Congrats on the weight you have lost. Don't stop yet!

OMG The Buffet
My friends like to eat at the buffet at the casino once in awhile. I refused to pay and eat there. They wanted to go anyway and someone else insisted on paying for me. I got sick in the washroom. Never again.

Dietary Fiber
I'm a fibersure user too. That or benifiber. What ever is on sale at the time. Both are the same thing and have no taste. I mix in with an applesauce cup. I find that the benifiber mixes better than the fibersure.

9 days post op and bored!!! :(
The pre-opt and post-opt diet was the hardest part for me. Mostly the post-opt. My big life saver? Walking around my neighborhood with my dog. Good for me, good for her. If you don't have a dog, borrow a neighbors. They will be grateful!

finally the light bulb comes on in my head
Now after watching the body bugg video I really want one. Not for $400 though. I'd pay $180 and more for the up to the minute display feature. Can anyone keep us informed if they see a sale that their gym, etc?

When did you get your 1st fill?
I was banded on 7/15/08. I got my 1st fill after 8 weeks.

dreading the pre-op diet...
I had to do two weeks of 4 slimfasts a day only and water. It wasn't so bad until the night before surgery. Then the 2 weeks after liquids only sucked bad.

How's the wardrobe?
Today was chilly enough that I had to put on jeans. The 24s looked silly but thats all I have right now so I went and got a belt with the last of a gift card I had. I have a feeling the belt I bought will really come in handy these next few weeks!

I'm ready for a fill...
I've found myself so hungry lately. Just one day it hit me, I'm starving! I'm really working on will power this last 2 weeks. I'm down to 220, lower than my last weight watchers weight. So for that I'm happy. But I'm no longer loosing either. I scheduled my first fill. And I'm glad I called because they couldn't get me in for a week and a half. So reminder to self : call right away. I just called to confirm, and they still don't have an exact time for me to come in and they won't even have one till wednesday or thursday of t his week. I'm off that day, so any time will do, just as long as I get one. I'm still mulling over joining the gym in my area. I'm still undecided at this point. My next weight loss goal is 199. So, 21 more pounds to loose!
