Very true! I just had the perfect time line n it was a tight one. Now I have two jobs n in June I would have three and I really needed to get the weight off because the third one is on my feet for like six hours and I am having trouble standing on my hips n knees. My one hip is incredibly bad. I am getting another cortisone shot in it on Saturday. I just really need my third job to survive and now with this epidemic I’m down to one job. I am just not in a great place and this being canceled is very disappointing but your right hopefully it will happen soon. :(

@IWantTheDream I’m so sorry to hear this for you. I know it’s devastating. My own surgery was delayed from Jan 14th to March 3rd. Just remember, this is not a no. It’s just not yet. You’ll have yours soon!

I just was watching tv and the News announcement said that all elective surgery is canceled as of 5pm tonight. I’m devastated. I got my date three weeks ago for May 12, 2020 and now is canceled. I feel so deflated. 😢

My biggest frustration is the lack of control over my surgical plan. The thing is that some of us can't just "move our dates" randomly by however many weeks we have to wait to see if our hospitals become overrun or if this was just extreme caution. I was assured surgeries would "stay in the same order" but that doesn't change the demands on my time. I had 1 week to go, but I may not be able to have surgery at 1 weeks notice. Even if I am not working at school until the end of April, after April 5th, I will be working at home every day. The timing of surgeries was chosen for different reasons--mine because I have student needs/sub plans to consider, for example. I can't use a sub during this shut down, I HAVE to be available. It's frustrating to have your choices yanked away.
Venting is healthy, imo, even if there is logic saying the cancellations are reasonable. Locking in that resentment or frustration because people say things that are dismissive of your feelings or make you feel like you shouldn't have them at all because other people "might need hospital care more" can lead to self- destructive or diet destructive behavior; it certainly has for me. I'm glad this topic is here and I'm not the only one who seems resentful that the world lost its mind right when it would derail my plan to finally start the steps to a more pain-free life. Now I just have to get off my pity party and remember carbs are the true enemy!

Good luck! I have been on Saxenda for 14 months and the firs maybe five months it really worked and then it just stopped being effective and I only lost now fifty pounds in a little over a year. But I guess it’s still in the right direction. I am still in the stage of trying to get all my testes done. Hope it works better for you!

Well everyone i'm here to tell you this surgery works wonders. I was 377 pounds in December 2018. It's now the end of Dec of 2019 and i'm 175 pounds and healthy. I ate nothing but low carb Protein food 5 times a day for the last year and 3 weeks. All i did was walk on a treadmill 4 times a week for a mile a day. I never cheated on my hardcore diet. I've only puked 7 times or so by eating too much since surgery in the last year. As we all do, i had to learn the hard way sometimes. I couldn't be happier and I have hit my goal weight. I am here to tell you if you follow the doctors orders it works.
Having said that i did go against doctors orders shortly after getting home. I was starving (or so i thought) and ate meat from the first week on. Probably not a good idea. I could only get down 3 bites. I had this grand plan to portion out food and bag it up and freeze it so i could heat it up.... it all went in the garbage.
First day after surgery i could only have 3 sips of Water. Stomach made weird sounds and such. I highly suggest everyone takes off work 2 weeks afterwords. I went back to work with in 10 days and i was a mess. I was dizzy every single time i stood up for about a month or two.
Your body will adjust and you have to do the hard work on the treadmill. My back was killing me before surgery. I could hardly stand up to order at least a pound of food per meal. It goes away.... you have to do the hard work and work though the pain. Walk a mile on the treadmill at 0230 in the morning when no one else is there like I did.
It's a struggle but it pays off in the end. Work hard and listen to your doc's. I wish you all the best.
    Starting weight 377 pounds
    Now: 175 pounds
    Waist starting: 50 inches
    Now: 30 inches
    Shirt size starting: 5XL
    Now: M to L
    BMI starting: 50
    BMI now: 23

I am about to meet the surgeon that maybe I could possibly trust for my gastric bypass if I get approved. I go on January 8, 2021. I am very nervous n very excited. What kind of things should I ask him ? Any advice from anyone? I got a second job just working on Sundays at a hair salon as an assistant and it was only five hours and my back was in so much pain . I hid the pain but I had to take a half of pain pill to get through and I really need the extra money. I am really tired of feeling pain and helpless. I have back problems from a bus accident in 2005 and I need two new hips n 2new knees. I am only 47 and I am falling apart fast n not liking it. I feel like if I don’t get this surgery I will not be around for many more years. Any advice will be welcomed and appreciated. Thank you
