  1. Completed my pre op yesterday Jan 8. They gave me the body cleanse, took blood, vitals, and went over everything for day of surgery (Jan 14). I also made my two week pre op appointment and receive the days for the 1 week post op nutrition class. I also got approved for my husband and son to stay in the hospital with me. I knew hubby could but was unsure of our son he’s only 14 weeks old. So now I have to pack for myself, hubby, and baby. For the hospital stay. We are all really excited. I am also slacking on shopping and prepping. So I will be a busy bee these next couple of days!!!
  2. Yayyy keep us updated!!!! Congratulations!!!!!
  3. STAY ON UR SURGEONS DIETS But this is just what my surgeon told me. My surgeon is Dr. Snyder Denver Bariatric center of excellence. ( he is the head surgeon in the US is on the board for bariatric and other things he fixes all the complications and problems from other surgeons he has patients fly from all over even out of the US to see him. Some patients come from London New Zealand etc) BUT he told me that the size of ur liver has nothing to do with it. They thought that it did in the past but new studies show the complications that arose from “large livers” where actually surgeon error ? so his patients and the other surgeons that work along and with him in the Denver center do not require a liquid diet etc for weeks before hand to “shrink liver” He said it’s also a mental tool the surgeons can use on us. It’s test our will power ( which he also mentioned is a reason he does not do this. It causes us a lot of unneeded stress and anxiety while we r already preparing for such a huge change we do not need this stress) he said it’s cruel to have patients on such a long liquid diet. Because the patients think they HAVE to follow this strict liquid diet due to the size of their livers a medical need in reality it is not. He explained a whole lot about it to me. And it made me really sad PLEASE FOLLOW UR SURGEONS DIET. I am not saying to go off the diet. But try not to let it control u mentally because that’s what they r hoping for. And I am so sorry that you all have to go through this. ? I have listed my requirements previously. But Here they r again if anyone is interested? I have to do a clear liquid diet for 48hours to clean out the stomach and intestines ( he explained this is for medical reasons) and nothing 8 hours before surgery. That is the only requirement. For all his patients. And we all have “livers” and I’m sure they are all abnormally large due to our weight
  4. Dang can I just put u in my brain for a week lol ? I was like ahhh this sounds so great. I need this in my life lol
  5. Omg we totally need to keep in touch and share stats ?
  6. Yayy hospital just called to pre register for my pre op and my surgery ? Pre op date Jan 8 Surgery date Jan 14 Clear liquid diet 48 hours before surgery. Nothing 8 hours before surgery. No pre surgery diet other than the 48 hours.
  7. Omg ur numbers are almost exact to mine! Idk ur height but I am 5’8” My highest weight 336 My current weight 275 My goals weight (surgery Jan 14) 155 But u hitting 129. Wow that is amazing!!!!! Heck ya!
  8. Does every one have a bathroom scale? If so is there a special one u just love? I am about to head out and look at some. Also how often will u weigh in after surgery?
  9. Awesome. I will be doing my pre op the same day u r going to turn post op lol Jan 8. So I will be sending my best wishes to you. Wow we r all so close to our dates this is just great!!!!
  10. Does anyone have any good secrets to share about how to stay/feel full on the clear liquid diet part before surgery?
  11. O wow lol yes Cigna is a great insurance. And they will also allow revisions or any other needs that we need to continue to be at a healthy weight!! It such a blessing to have an insurance that actually cares!!! I have my pre op Jan 8 and my surgery Jan 14. I am so excited. I only have 48hours of clear liquids before surgery. Obviously I also have a 8 hour no food restriction prior to the actual surgery. It is getting so close. I am so excited for this new journey but I am also so scared for surgery. Thankfully I am at the top rated center of excellence in the US and my surgeon deals with all the mess ups lol ? people fly from all over to come see him. So that really puts me at ease. He also does a numbing injection at all injection sites so the lain is very minimal so we are able to walk a round to avoid blood clotting etc.
  12. I go in on the 14th and I have yet to prepare at all for this. I will probably go shopping soon. ☺️ I’m not sure about which soups etc to get. I only am on a liquid/cream diet for 5-6days depends on first appointment date. Then I’m on soft food. There is no purée stage. So that’s nice. And I heard the 5-6 days is mainly just trying to stay hydrated.
  13. I have 2 dogs ? one just turned 1 on Christmas. And I have a baby he’s 3 months old ☺️
  14. Yayy! Omg Jan 2 is so far away. I am so excited to have the surgery. I have worked on losing a lot of weight myself from the 336 to the current 277. So I have pretty good self control saying no to food already. I am just so excited to be able to not feel like an empty pit. Cause when I limit my calories I feel just Terribly hungry all the time. Let me know how ur recovery goes and how u feel.
  15. Hi!! I am looking for someone to be support buddies with on this life changing journey. My doctor recommended it to me! So if anyone is interested I would love to share ideas worries stress success And hard points!! I am having surgery January 14 Height 5’8” Highest weight 326 Current weight 277 Goal weight 155
  16. I think why I am so nervous is because this is an elective surgery not a really “medical” need to “save” my life? I say that loosely because it is saving my life but not in the emergency sense? If that makes any sense. Lol.
  17. Yea I’m really nervous about the anesthesia. But I’m sure it will be fine. People with really bad health issues do this surgery all the time. And I am blessed in the fact that I don’t have any health issues other than insulin resistance and pcos. And over weight. How long did the entire process take before u where able to see your family? Like from the surgery time and PACU time? Cause Snyder said our surgery takes him 35 minutes. Im such a control freak so it helps me to know each step ? I have told my close friends and my close family. Some family I haven’t even told. Like a lot of my husbands side because they r in India. How is loose skin treating you? So my stats are 5’8” Highest weight 336 Current weight 275 ( I lost all the weight diet and exercise on my own without nutritionist etc got down to 230 then got pregnant) Goal weight 150-160 I started my journey for surgery Dec 7 so I have not been at it long. Even though I have looked into it for years. Even attended some classes at university in the past. My insurance is very lenient and don’t require much prep work.
  18. Yea I totally Understand! I’m still trying to think of I am going to tell a lot of people or just keep it to myself? I am really private so I’ll probably just keep it to myself. If people ask I may share. Was this ur first surgery? I am really nervous about going under? I have never had surgery and I think I am mainly worried about the unknown. And not knowing what to expect.
  19. Yes he said if anyone in the office give me problems txt him and he’ll get them straightened out LOL even though his whole staff is just so amazing and caring and they all have a life and passion for what they do!!! I’m so excited for my surgery Jan 14!!! I’m so ready!! Now just waiting lol
  20. I actually go in to see him this morning at 10am to do an in body scan!! ☺️ me and my husband may also go with him because I have a 3 month old baby and he said I would be able to bring him with instead of leaving him in a gym daycare! So I really appreciate that
  21. Yayyy he is my surgeon also!!! Yes very intelligent man!!! The best for sure!! I have surgery scheduled Jan 14. And I have no doubt I am in the best hands.
  22. Idk if ur willing or able to travel but my surgeon has Patients fly from New York and even out of the country to see him. He fixes all the other surgeons mess ups. His name is Dr. Snyder Denver Bariatric. If it’s an option for you I would recommend getting into contact with his office. And at least getting a recommendation from him. O BTW I’m in Denver, Colorado If u want more info I can send u his info? He is the best of the best
  23. Yes my surgery date is Jan 14th. I am very excited. I think I am going to train after with Geof at Phoenix gym but not sure yet. My BMI is 40 so I have a good 100lbs to lose to my goal weight. What gym do u use? I’m scared a personal trainer is going to break the bank lol
