That is really unkind. you've lost weight and gotten healthier. I'm sorry they aren't being more supportive, you have so much to be proud of! be kind to yourself.

I’m thrilled to have reached goal today! Coincidentally, it happened on the anniversary of my initial consult with my surgeon. I’m down 100lbs and feel lighter than air!

Pics are below! For those that wonder about loose skin, yeah I gots it! I’m having PS to remove it, but I’ll take the loose skin over fat any day! Tried to show what I look like with clothes on, with shirt pulled up and with loose skin untucked out of my pants! LOL!

unless you're the size of someone on "My 600 lb Life", the chances of you losing 15 lbs a week is pretty minute. Most "normal" WLS patients lose somewhere in the 15-25 lb range the first month - and it slows down after that. Of course, you'll always find outliers who lose more or less than that, but that seems to be about the norm for month #1. So you're perfectly normal - well actually, a bit ahead of the game.

P.S. I don't know where you're looking on this forum where you're seeing people losing 15 lbs a week. I've never seen that, and I've been hanging out here for five years.

    48 yr male, 6' 3", High Weight 382. Surgery Weight 309, Sleeve on 5/18/2020. Current weight 238. Targeting 215-225.
I lost 73 lbs over 10 months pre-op. At 5+ months out from the sleeve, I'm down another 71 lbs. Averaging about .45lb/day so far, but I am slowing down.
Currently eating 900 cals/day with 100+g Protein. Walking 4-5x/week for a total of ~6-8 miles.
Stick to the program - hydrate, Proteins, light exercise - and it will work.

Your second paragraph pretty much sums it up. People either give up or think they can do it without surgery.
Your first paragraph I don't think is true. I don't think most people have an easy time of surgery. I know I didn't.
Further, it's a fair bit of work to get approved. Honestly, insurance creates as many obstacles and work as they can because it will cause a certain percentage to quit.
Others are scared of surgery, doctors, hospitals. Some rightly so. I hated going to doctors when I had a problem because it was always my weight.
Further, as you say people are judged for being MO, so it's hard to go though a program to admit you need help. In many of our minds we BELIEVE it is a character flaw to be fat.
And, again, giving up all that food. OMG, A 16oz Prime Rib, loaded baked potato, mushrooms, a good wine, that I will NEVER have as much as I want again! is a tough row to hoe for some people.
Don't forget all the dieting competition. WLS is the enemy product, so it is villainized.
WLS horror stories, I know I read many and had to accept it could happen to me. Many can't.
Boy, I can go on an on, can't I

yep as far as numbers go.
It doesn't take me an hour to get them down, though. I take a small handful in the morning - then three in the late afternoon. Iron and Vitamin C before I go to bed. I load up my pill container thingie on Saturday night (for the week) and then I'm pretty much on auto-pilot for the rest of the week.

My advice would be to follow what your nutritionist and Dr. recommend but also listen to your body. You will be having a challenge just meeting liquid and Protein goals. In the first week I'd say liquid>protein since you dehydrate quick. I was pretty much sipping on something all day those first few weeks since my stomach was full relatively fast. I drank a lot of clear Protein Drinks, broth and sugar free pops my first week which was clear and the second week I ate Protein Shakes, thin Soups and more pops. My program wanted 62 ounces liquid and 60 grams protein.
Don't worry about having a giant variety of stuff since you will probably not like or not want much of it. I bought several kinds of soups and only really liked 2 of them. The rest are still in the cabinet.

So bear with me on this one.
Back in February when I had my first appointment with the Holyoke Medical Weight Management program, I met with one of the two physician assistants that handle the intake of new patients. In that meeting, I went in looking into the medical weight loss program since I was under the impression that I was not eligible for further bariatric surgery. One of the first questions asked of me was what my goal weight was. I was told not to overthink it and to simply give her a number that I wanted to get down to. I said "225 pounds", which seemed like an unachievable goal, but it was what I weighed 20 or so years ago and while still overweight, was a comfortable weight for me. As that would involve losing 116 pounds, she informed me that I would be unlikely to achieve that goal in the medical program, but that it would be much more achievable in the surgical program. She quickly cleared up my misconceptions about my eligibility for revision surgery and sent me home to think about how I wanted to proceed.
A couple of weeks later, I was back in for my official intake into the surgical weight loss program to start the journey to removing my lapband and revising to a vertical sleeve gastrectomy. From that point, you've pretty much seen my progress and success.
So I only weigh myself once a week and it is on Tuesday mornings (used to be on Fridays, but once I had my surgery, I moved it to Tuesdays to align with the day I had surgery). Here's this week's update:
    Starting Weight: 341.1
    Surgery Day Weight: 262.8
    Pre-surgery Weight Loss: 78.3
    Current Weight: 225.2
Weight Lost in Past Week: 3.8
    Post Surgery Weight Loss: 37.6
    Total Weight Loss: 115.9
    So, a couple of things:
    1) I weighed myself 5 damn times this morning to see if I could get that .2 to go away. It didn't. My scale is too accurate to indulge in my shenanigans.
    2) I am going to end up breaking my rule and will end up reweighing myself on Thursday or Friday, just so I can see that .2 disappear.
    3) I have now lost more than a third of my body weight. 33.98%, to be precise.
    4) Next goal is 190lbs. But first I have to get rid of that annoying .2lbs

I buy cold brew iced coffee and add 1/2 cup fairlife milk and some no sugar caramel Syrup. I read the cold brew had less acid than regular coffee and so far it sits just fine.

Hi, everyone!!! It has taken me about 5 days off and on...but I have read this whole thread, and a few things have happened:
    1. I learned that am a lurker and a stalker🤦‍♀️
    2. I have snagged some wonderful recipes and ideas
    3. I realized I am going to love getting to go on this journey with ya'll...there is so much support and help offered!!!
    4. And my name isn't cute at all!!! I am so jealous of how cute they all are!!!
Now, I guess I should say something about my food. Today I am 4 wks out from my surgery, I started soft foods this past Saturday. I am on soft foods until 9/12. I can't wait to be able to be able to actually chew something with more texture. I am so jealous of everyone's cucumbers and radishes, they look so yummy!!!
Right now am able to eat 3 Tablespoons of food, 4 times a day(there is no way I could do 6)...I am currently averaging 48-54 oz. fluids. So right now i will not subject you to my little wee-meals.
