  1. I got my first fill today. The appointment was supposed to have been on the 24th, but I missed that one because of bad weather in DC. I couldn't fly home the night before and ended up sleeping at the airport. (whole other story) I finally asked questions today and got answers that everybody else already seemed to know. They said I have the 10cc band and it was filled at the time of surgery with 4.8cc's. Today I got another .6cc's. I am on liquids for 2 days and then mushies for 2 days and then I can start adding regular food in slowly. Can't wait for that because I'm hungry today. The fill itself- not bad at all. I do have a little bruise where the needle went in, but otherwise its fine. I didn't feel anything.
  2. At my check up, I made a fill appt for July 24th. They told me I may not get one then, just depends on how things are going. I've noticed the last couple of days that I can eat alot more than I could a week ago. The swelling has definitely gone down.
  3. Congratulations and good luck on your weight loss journey!
  4. Have you had any prior experiences with anesthesia? I think its normal to get nervous about the surgery. I know I did. I had two knee surgeries prior to the lapband with no problems with anesthesia and I still worried about it. I'll keep you in my thoughts, let us know how things go. BTW, congratulations on being banded!
  5. I was banded on the 25th as well and I still have left shoulder pain. Maybe not as often, but its definitely still there. I asked my doctor about it yesterday. I wanted to know when it would go away. His answer - "Eventually." That helped.
  6. I bought the protein bullets also. (fruit punch) I use half of one with my raspberry lemonade crystal light and it is pretty good. Someone had suggested using it with crystal light on another thread. Was that you Music Mom? It's a great idea!
  7. Hey Becky, I'm Jeanette. I live in Lytle and I had my surgery with Dr. Carcamo at True Results in San Antonio on the 25th. I am sore, but the gas is bothering the most. I can't wait for that to go away. Congratulations on your surgery and good luck on your weight loss journey.
  8. Today I am really sore! The thing that bothers me the most is my throat. I woke up every few hours last night because of my throat. I am also having problems getting all of my fluids in. I am suppossed to have 1 to 2 ounces of fruit juice or broth every hour that I am awake, and of course water constantly in between. Whenever I drink something though I can an extremely full feeling that is very uncomfortable and lasts quite a while. I am taking tiny sips, so I don't know what else to do. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
  9. Congratulations Waikiki! I'm glad to hear you are doing great! Where did you get the Nectar protein drinks? That's sound good!
  10. Thanks, I might have to do that.
  11. Hey everyone! I was banded this morning at about 8:00. I was back home by 12:30. All went well. The pain is not too bad, I guess its the gas that is bothering me. Mostly in my left shoulder and some in the middle of my chest. Well, just wanted to let you know how it went. Going back to bed! Hope everyone else is doing great! Jeanette
  12. Hey Kiki220, I am getting banded on the 25th as well. I start my pre-op diet tomorrow (6/11). Can't wait for it all to be done. Good luck!
  13. Good Luck! I know you'll do great! My surgery is not until the 25th, but I too hope people will notice the weight loss when I start back to school and the end of August. Keep us posted.
  14. Hello everyone! I'm Jeanette. I've been married for 12 years and have 2 kids (10 and 7). I am a middle school teacher in a small town a little south of San Antonio that I have lived in since I was 8. I am so excited about having this surgery. Good luck to everyone and keep us posted on your progress.
  15. I have told my family (husband, kids, mom, dad, sisters, brother) and a few close friends from work. Everyone has been very supportive. Being a teacher and having the next couple of months off, I don't have to worry about telling everyone else I work with until they start asking how I've lost the weight. Can't wait for that to happen.:wink2:
