  1. I can’t believe surgery day is tomorrow, I’m a little anxious about what’s to follow after surgery. (Mainly the pain)

    Not Having Support

The sister I speak of is my identical twin sister and she seems upset with not even talking about it with her , and told me to postpone my surgery because I won’t have any help from her. I’m not postponing. I’m not sure how much help I will need but I’m very nervous because I don’t know what to expect.

    Not Having Support

I’ve noticed the closer I get to my surgery date, one of my sisters whom I live with has not been very supportive at all. She’s actually been causing a lot of stress. I am 2 weeks away from surgery.
  4. I have an October 28, 2020 Surgery date! Anyone else having their surgery in October?😊

How long did it take you to get approved?

For the whole process or just the insurance portion?

I had my initial consult with the surgeon in early August. Had to have a bunch of bloodwork, and EGD, and a psych eval. I got to skip the sleep study because I had that last year, already use a CPAP, and regularly see a Sleep Neurologist. After all that I had a follow up visit with the surgeon to discuss findings of everything. I got a surgery date on Friday, 10/2/20, and got the approval letter from my insurance on 10/9/20. So from initial consult to surgery date it was about 8 weeks.

    Anyone for October 2020?

I received my surgery date yesterday! I will be having surgery October 28, 2020.
  6. Today I was cleared for Surgery!  Now I have to wait a couple of weeks to talk with the bariatric surgeon to schedule a date for surgery. I also have to lose 5lb to 10lbs before I get surgery.  I'm so excited!!! and also anxious I hate waiting and not knowing.

    Kaiser Inland Empire

Hi! I live in the Inland Empire and also have kaiser. I will be going to see my primary doctor today and will be asking to get a referral to get bariatric surgery. Do you have any advice as to what type of questions I should ask and is Kaiser in the IE fairly easy to get an approval? Also, what is the process for the surgery? I have high blood pressure which recently I ended up in the emergency room. I have other health issues related to my weight and have tried several diets and I am currently on weight watchers for the past year but have done weight watchers on and off since 2009.
